I would just like to ask how some of you tackle to sitter problem with your multiples. So far we haven't run into any probs, we have lots of family to help out and have even had friends offer too. But I know some people aren't that lucky and it can be hard to find good, reliable, competent sitters for just one baby. Being that it is important to have time to yourself/with partner what do you do?

Just curious as we have a family wedding this weekend and my sisters SIL offered to mind our girls for us, which I thought was jolly nice of her. So we will take the girls to the ceremony, then I will bring them home for a feed and then the SIL will take it from there. Tounge1.gif

We are very fortunate to be a part of a babysitting club with our church. There is no cost, we earn or spend points. We are all Mums and there is another twin Mum so I asked for her the first couple of times for my peace of mind.

I am so stuck with this! With moving down to Hobart, we have no family at all down here! At this stage, if we are desparate, our family travel down(with a bit of notice) We are stuck for anything else .. I have no idea who to ask or how they would cope with 3 under 3! Bit of a tough one!

I feel like I am imposing on people by asking them to look after two babies. I only trust my mum or MIL to look after them. They don't really live very close so we need to give them a bit of notice too. It will be interesting to see what happens when we have #3.

No_idea!
[color=Blue]So far the only people I've left the boys with (during the day) is my MIL or my cousin and her hubby, and that's never really been for an extended period of time. I have a friend's 18 year old son and a next door neighbour who have babysat the boys at night (after they've been put to bed) so that we can go out for dinner with friends etc, but that's been pretty few and far between.

The thing is that we can cope with looking after 2 (or more) children, so surely there must be other people out there who can do it also. I think my problem is thinking that no-one else out there will be able to cope, but of course they can. Now I just need to find one of those people!! ;p

We're currently in the process of looking for someone to come to our home 1-2 days a week for about 5-6 hours a day to look after the boys so that I can get out and have a break (which probably wouldn't end up being a break because I'll be attending appointments or doing the groceries!), but you know what I mean.

I'd love to hear from anyone out there who's gone through the screening process to find someone to help look after their children ie. questions to ask, signs to look out for etc. My new years resolution is to get in some help and to try to have more of a life! wink.gif

I dont know if anyone has heard of in home care. its like day care but the carer goes to your house and looks after how ever many kids you have, they are fully qualified, trained, liability insurance, first aid, the lot. its around 12-15$ pr/hr but it also goes on your income.

i get the in home care where we are and i love it. The lady i have ocmes once a week form 9 - 4pm. She has also done one overnight stay for us when we had a party to attend. I too was fussy with who would cope with three under three - but this lady is terrific - she does not do it the way i do - but you know it gives me a break, and the kids a new experience - which is all tooooooo important in my eyes.
Finding someone so reliable wasn't easy, but gee its great now!!!
