I have the aussie Baby twin jogger which I love.I started with the graco duo rider, but it only had 2 positions flat and bolt upright, and with nappies and a bunny rug my boys seemed to be upside down, not good for reflux babies.
the aussie baby is light, very manouverabls and fits through most doorways. my son sued to sit on the very large footrest for a ride when he was younger which saved looking for a toddler seat to fit.

I currently have the Twin Bertini which is fantastic! Very few problems with doorways, reclines flat for newborns and has two further higher positions. I read that someone thought it was a little bulky, I'm 5foot 2 and weigh 45kg and don't have a problem getting it in and out of my car, I highly recommend it (if you don't require a toddler seat). Which brings me to my problem, I have 21 month old twins and am planning a third. I'm looking for a good quality twin with toddler seat, any suggestions?

Hi there

We have the Valco Runabout, I do like it however there are a couple of things which I don't like about it. The shopping basket is not very large. You can't turn the pram around so that the babes aren't in the sun. It is hard to get around some shops with it (I find KMart difficult). But, it is great for going for walks and general shopping.

I finally saw someone with the same pram as me....it's the Bertini Bidwell twin pram. original.gif

My girls are now 13 months old and I've only just reversed the carriage so that they are facing the direction we are going. I love this pram though it is a bit bulky when folded down. I use to drive a Volvo sedan and had to take the wheels off but now drive a Prado 4wd and now just have to bend the handle down a little and the pram can sit in the back without having to fold down.

I am now also looking for a stroller and can get a Valco Twin Sportz for $200. Has anyone had any experience with this stroller?

[color=Blue]Just a question for those of you who have a twin pram/jogger and then have another baby.

I have seen prams out there that have a special attachment you can put on the front of a double pram that will turn it from a twin pram into a pram for 3 children. Can anyone give me some info on this, and what sort of prams the attachment works with.

I have a fabulous Mountain Buggy Urban jogger and just love it, but when I emailed the company to see if they have such an attachment they said they only have a kiddie board that can be attached at the back of the pram........ it doesn't really sound all that safe to me.

Anyway, I was wondering if any of you have put an attachment on to a Mountain Buggy pram (even if you're not supposed to! ;p) or what prams you have put the extra attachment on to.

Thanks guys!

Vanessa I might be able to help you with the question since I am such a pram nerd LOL.

There is no toddler seat attachment for Mountain buggy prams. There arent any sort of generic toddler seats either that you could adapt.

Emmaljunga does a twin side-by-side pram which I'm pretty sure has a toddler seat attachment. The toddler seat is as wide as teh twin pram, but I"m not sure if it would bear the weight of two children. I have seen older twin emmaljunga's with toddler seats but you;d have to check if they still have them for the newer twin emmaljunga's

Another alternative is to get a twin jogger than has a flat bit over the front wheel that could serve as a makeshift seat. My twin jogger has such a flat bit (love and care cruiser) and I suspect you could do it with a twin valco runabout. I often carry a third child on the front bit of my double pram.

Ohhh I just remembered a third option, Adventure buggy. This is a NZ pram that looks similar to Mountain buggy. Depending on what model you get you ae able to fix a toddler seat on either the front og the pram (as per normal) but is can also take a toddler seat on top of the pram, above the hood with the child facing the mother. You can fit both the toddler seats at the same time if you want, and each toddler seat can take a child up to 18kg. I imagine this would be a really good option for Mums with twins first the a singleton baby as the twins would be in the toddler seat and the baby in the main part of the pram.

Here is the link to the adventure buggy website:

And here is the bit about their toddler seats:

Just wondering if anyone out there with a Mountain Buggy Urban Double could tell me how it copes with larger toddlers.

My little girl is now 18 months. I have a Lovencare Rapid jogger which has been great. I'm due to have my second baby in two months & want a double pram that will take me everywhere (ie jogging, on the beach, in the shopping centre etc). The Mountain Buggy seems to match these demands, but I just want to make sure the seats won't be too small.

Any comments would be really appreciated.

Jodie, I now have the Valco twin Sportz (replacement by Valco for my conintually breaking Urban Ultralite) and we are pretty happy with it too (though it has only been used about 4 times thus far, and we were happy with the Urban until it broke at 6mths)

I have two prams. The BabyLove (which is very similiar to the Childcare pram. And, a Valco stroller.

The BabyLove was excellent for newborn babies and children of different ages as the seats are fully reclinable and adjustable. And shopping, as the baskets are huge.

The Valco, is great for a quick visit around the shops, and as my twins are now two they generally walk around everywhere, so its suits me.

And, now as we're moving house I'm selling the BabyLove - does anyone wants to buy it?

We bought a brand new childcare twin rover when my twins were born and we loved it. But unfortunately it was stolen in Oct last year and so we have done without a twin pram, until yesterday. We finally found a pram that has everything we have been looking for. A Love 'n' Care twin sporty. It is the new style twin jogger and holds 22kg in each side, the back wheels are under the pram so getting through all doors and isles is easy as pie. It turns on the spot and makes every corner at the shops a pleasure to turn. It does seem to have the seats fairly high up(due to the back wheels being underneath) but this is great for DH and I as we are both tall and we hardly have to bend to get the boys in and out, and makes it so the boys are more at our level when eating in a food court etc. The seats have a much more padded lining compared to the older model and is comfortable for both newborns and toddlers. My twins are now 18 mths old and are rather big boys, but they fit in the pram very comfortably. It folds with one action and doesn't need to have the wheels taken off to fit in the family car. I still can't believe how compact it is. We have tried to tip it,but is so stable it just won't do it. It has the metal rims, to me a big turn off the older style was plastic rims. I hated the jogger prams until I found this one. It was only $439!! Well worth a look at,if you want a pram to see you through the first 3 or 4 yrs.

I know this has been discussed a lot but all baby stuff changes so often.

Does anyone have the Childcare Deluxe twin stroller? I harassed a poor couple yesterday and they said they loved it. It seemed to have everything I want -
- lightweight
- easy to manouvre
- narrow
- can put a skateboard on the back
- basket underneath

AND it is only $349 from Target. Is it too good to be true. Does anyone have it. I didn't test the height (I'm quite tall). Price isn't a huge issue but thats just so cheap.

Is there another current pram that has all the above that anyone can recommend?

Cheers and thanks

Hi,

I don't have any answers, just another question ... I'm looking for a compact but good quality tandem or twin and would love recommendations. We have a hatchback so once we have two baby seats in place, the hatch won't have much space as the anchor straps run to the back. I currently have a Jeep Cherokee single stroller which I love, and need something not much bigger when baby no 2 arrives. Bethany is 16 months but not walking yet (after 10 months treatment for dislocated hips), so it might be some time before she can walk along. I've looked at the Valco Doubletake on the web which seems really compact but recommendations would be great!

Hi I am new. I just found this site today. Wow.. Very informative.
I am expecting twins 30/04/05. I also have a very lively two year old daughter.

Since falling pregnant (even before we knew we were carrying twins)I have seen a Baby Love Double jogger pram when out shopping and can not seem to find where to find one.

If anyone has one or knows where to purchase one, I would be grateful for the information.

Thanks.

Just had a new pram delivered. Had been using a swallow twin pram(babyco brand)but had been having too much trouble pushing it as the girls are 19 months now. And the wheels started to get cracks in them!

Bought a brand new babylove duolite twin jogger pram on ebay for $365. They are around $500 in the shops.
Light as a feather. Air tyres.5 position seat recline. really thick boot cover will never use now we live in FNQ but would have been great last year when the girls were born in Melb winter! Fits through most doors with ease. Holds 20kgs each side.(my old one held max 15 each with twins or 18kg toddler/baby combo). Good height. Dh is 6' and doesn't have to bend. Very easy to clean. Bit of a tight squeeze in a commodore boot but you dont need to take any wheels off. many more features as well.
My only complaint is the storage baskets hold 5 kg but cant fit nappy bag in. However has a big pouch behind each seat easily fits food, drink, nappies etc and folds with them in it.
Being a 1st time mum last year I never thought of the weight limit. I only looked for fully reclining seats etc more newborn features rather than toddler features as well. My girls are only 10 and 11 kgs so we'll be able to use this one for so much longer.
Happy pram buying!

Hi Rebecca,
I was interested to read that you brought the babylove Duolite off ebay as I was watching one on there for a while (new one too) but was wondering if they are good, this was a red and black or grey one. It sounds like you really like it. I have heard abit about joggers from sales staff that they have had a few problems with all brands and I was wondering if you are finding yours great. I will be interested to hear more if you have the time, regards Ingrid

hi Ingrid, well had the pram a few more weeks now. And like it even more. Was a bit worried about storage at first but it's not too bad after all. I think I was used to my old one.

It's still the easiest pram i've ever pushed and I can fit through about 95% of doorways which is a bonus. Much easier to take to the shops. I had spoken to a sales lady before I looked on ebay and she said it was the best one out. And she was really honest( she stopped my sister spending a fortune on one of those 3 in 1 systems!)

still getting used to putting it in and out of the boot. And the front wheel has 3 lockable positions so if you are being a bit energetic you can lock it for extra sturdiness.. Good luck with your shopping ...

Cheers Rebecca

Hi

Has anyone tried the Babylove sit n stand? I am currently looking at this on the internet but haven't seen it anywhere. It has a stroller at the front with a seat for toddler facing you or toddler can stand facing forward. Since my toddler constantly wants to get in and out of pram this looks like an easier option. Love to hear any advice.

Hi

on the question of twin prams with toddler seats, I have seen a twin Valco runabout 2 with a toddler seat on it (the toddler seats will take 20kg which is great for the older toddler), and the fitness wise (i think thats the name) will also take a toddler seat, ive actually seen one of these with 2 toddler seats on.

hope this helps

Today I went looking for twin prams !?!?!?!?!?!?!

I was set on the Bertini Bidwell as I have read so much about it, but we had a go of the Adventure Buggy Company jogger and really liked it.

Can anyone offer any opinions on either of these prams please.

The main reason I liked the ABC over the Bertini was
1) lighter
2) easier to fold / folded flater
3) could hold more weight
4) wheels - DH's reason

Please help !

I just realised that after 19 months using a twin buggy I hadn't posted here. I have the Mountain Buggy Urban Double and I love it. That thing has had a hammering for the past 19 months and it's still going strong. Expensive but the advantages are:

1. Lighter than other twin joggers - I can lift it in and out of the boot and, until the girls were able to climb stairs (in the last month) I would pull the fully loaded buggy up 20 steps to our front door - I wouldn't recommend it but no wonder I don't need to lift weights!
2. Easy to manouvere - with the front swivel wheels it's got a fairly tight turning circle. Being a double buggy it's still limited as to where you can go (why are the aisles in baby shops so narrow??!) but I think it's about as good as it gets.
3. Decent sized baskets which can be accessed even when the kids are in the buggy.
4. Fits through almost all doors - including the internal doors at our house. When they were babies and had no head control I used the buggy with carrycot attachment to move them from room to room.
5. Able to take the wheels off and it folds nice and flat if you need to pack it in the car for trips away.

Happy shopping all! Can't believe I'm posting this just as I'm able to stop using the buggy for every short trip. The girls can now walk 50 metres from the car to playgroup - yay!!

We have the Adventure Buggy twin pram & so far so good.
Positives:
* light (for a double pram!)
* easy to manouvre because of swivel wheels
* folds fairly flat to fit more in the car boot
* lots of storage underneath, which is removable and can turn into a backpack as well
* toddler seat attachment if we choose to go back for more!
* adjustable handle and removable safety bar for kids
Negatives:
* knobs at the sides of the pram stick out and get caught on some doors
* need to take off front wheels to fit in the boot of a sedan ( I am driving a commodore) because it is quite long when folded flat
* Not a huge amount of support for newborns, but I have the Valco baby carriers inside which are great

Re. the valco twin runabout with the toddler seat.

I have one of these and it has been a real lifesaver. My eldest was a bit less than 2 when his brother and sister arrived and it was great for them all then and still is now. Only problem has been that the front wheels don't swivel as well as they used to. Mind you, it is now loaded up with a 2.5 yr old and a pair of cuddly 9 month olds so it's working hard!!

I have recently discovered that we are having twins and have been looking at the Babylove Duolite jogger. Can anyone tell me how hard it is to lift and put in your car boot? We have a new Nissan Pulsar Sedan and am not sure whether it will even fit. How small does it fold down?
Butterscotch
DH and I began checking out prams on the w/end. DH is a safety nut and has been doing all this research including joining up with Choice online to get safety test reports. DH has decided that a 3 wheeler is definitely out because the 3 wheelers can tip backwards quite easily. From the prams we looked at a lot of the 3 wheelers tended to be wider and heavier too. I couldn't believe how heavy some of the prams were!!! (the regular twin prams, didn't try any of the 3 wheelers myself)

We've been eyeing off the Mclarens Twin Traveller. Does anyone have this one and have any thoughts. It's a lot smaller and lighter, folds up quite compact than the others but it's more like a stroller tho you can put babies in from birth (only just tho I reckon). I doubt we'll be out and about too much when they're newborn tho so I don't think it's a huge issue. The thing I was saddest about is that it doesn't seem as tho they'll be as snuggly in the Mclarens Twin Traveller - but snuggleeness comes with weight...
Anyway, would love to hear any comments about the Mclarens Twin Traveller from anyone who's got one.

Thanks original.gif

I have some quick questions to any Valco Twin users. Am I reading the Valco website right and the Twin runabout is only 5 cm's wider than the single runabout? How is this possible? Also can you get a boot cover thingy (the ones that clip over babies legs) raincover, fly net thing etc. for the Valco twin?

Thankyou.
Butterscotch
catnat - we are probly going to get the Valco Runabout (after saying there was no way we'd get a 3 wheeler cause of my Mr Safety DH saying they were no good he's now changed his mind - tho technically the Valco is a 4 wheeler but shaped like a 3 wheeler... ANYWAY!). It is quite wide (and fairly heavy AND fairly cumbersome). It would only just fit through our standard doorways and at the shop it only just fit through their doorway. How it compares to the single Valco? I have no idea. It has instant release wheels which makes it much easier to put in and out of the boot (lighter and less cumbersome).

Just to let you know that the valco we got did come with the rain cover and the fly net included with it. They are the best things ever and not just for keeping the flies off, keeping the "oh twins" stranger hands off the babies!!!! trust me, if it doesnt come with them get one. Also there is a lady at our Multiple group that has the baby love pra
m and hers will not fit through any doors, our does. There are not too many places it wont go. I have the valco set up permanetly for walking and the chilcare stroller in the pram for outings, best idea I got from another twin mum!

We have the maclaren twin traveller. I think it is a fantastic twin stroller. We have used it since our bubs were newborn and it has had quite a workout. It has been really sturdy, is lightweight and folds down quite small for a twin pram. This makes it really easy to lift in and out of the boot and has saved my back. We have a subaru and can fit the pram, a portacot, large nappy bag, linen for cot and a few shopping bags all at once in the boot (which is not particularly big). The pram comes with a rain cover and boot covers which look really cute with two little bubs peering over the top original.gif

They were fine using it as newborns as it reclined right back and has a little (removable)head piece to support them and keep them more snug. The only disappointment was that they face forward so you can't see them while pushing the stroller but I figured they are newborn for such a short time and prams are so expensive I had to think long term. Another advantage is that it has separate handles to push with which means you can hang shopping bags etc on them.

The only negatives are that the parcel trays are hard to access when the seats are fully reclined and are not very big. I have also had occasional problems with doorways as the metal attachemnts for the rain cover sometimes catch but that is only on non standard width doorways. It is really not suited to off road use either as it has stroller wheels. All in all though I love it.

We also have the mountain buggy twin jogger. I use this for walking around our neighbourhood. It is also fantastic but wider than the maclaren, doesn't fit in our boot and doesn't look as comfortable to sit in as the maclaren. It is great for going for a walk, but I wouldn't like to try going shopping with it.

Having the two is a great combination and we were fortunate to get the mountain buggy cheap as an ex shop model.

happy pram shopping

Hi all

Has anyone tried the Valco Aero stroller? We have a Runabout 2 which I'm very happy with but I'm finding as the girls get older and heavier it's getting a bit harder to manouveur in tight spots. I'm looking for a cheapie that's lighter and which folds down smaller for shopping trips etc. It doesn't need to lie flat or anything, just enough to keep 2 toddlers under control in the shops!

I had a look at a single Valco aero today and I'm not sure that a twin version will be much smaller than the runabout (maybe a bit lighter though?). I've emailed Valco to ask them the weight - its not listed on their website - but haven't heard back yet.

All suggestions appreciated!

Thanks ladies for your help on the Valco. I think it may be the pram for us.

I know the Maclaren Twin Traveller has come up a bit as a good layback umbrella stroller but I was just wondering if anyone had tried the 'cheaper' layback umbrella twin strollers, maybe as a second shopping stroller. My mum has always said she'd buy us a pram but she has just told us her upper limit is $300 and well, I have expensive pram tastes. I was thinking there may be a stroller she could get us as we are definitely getting one sometime so we don't have to cart a huge Twin pram on holidays etc.
sunshinetwin
Catnat,
Tricky one on the stroller question. I bought the boys a valco sportz stroller when they were one. It was about $295, and was perfectly fine except my boys are obviously fussy and prefer their jogger and were'nt to happy sitting in the stroller and would not sleep in it. We have the love n care sporty twin but I am getting the steelcraft jogger which will keep us happy till the boys are finished with their pram. We have a station wagon so size does'nt matter. I sold the stroller to a girlfiend who loves it. Her twins are 2. You will need a good pram to start with but you maybe can look at a stoller as an option later on.
Yulia
Rhonda79,
may I just ask you, why are getting steelcraft jogger instead of the love n care one?
We just bought the Sporty Twin and I am constantly thinking now, if it was the right choice... :quest:
sunshinetwin
Yulia,
This could turn into being a long post so I apologize in advance. My twins are now 16 mths old. When we went pram hunting, decided upon the baby love duolite (older model navy/pale blue) which was faulty and the only pram we could afford to swap to at the time was the love n care sporty twin. (If we could have afforded to at the time we could have gone up to the Valco jogger) We have had the love n care jogger for almost a year which gets a lot of work and dont get me wrong it is a great pram.

The features I always wanted on a twin pram were
- Multi position recline (eg set positions not straps, baby love had, steelcraft has)
- Individual foot rests (same as above)
- One that fits through doors (baby love no chance, love n care yes is 74cm, steelcraft is 75cm so should be fine)

My boys are now 12kg each and I find that the straps (to make them sit up/lie down) dont maintain tension well enough to give them propper support so they tend to slump a bit. Also now their feet are all over the place so a foot rest would be nice.

I am probably being fairly greedy wanting a new twin pram as I have one that is fine but I will hopefully soon have the twin pram that I always wanted because having one that has all the features you want will make your life easier (Steelcraft has everything I want)

Possibly seems like small things to get a new pram over but I use my pram ALL THE TIME! Sorry if this all seems rude or selfish to anyone, not my intention.

Hope that helps, looks like the great twin pram debate still going strong!

Rhonda 25 (Hopefully soon to be proud owner of a steelcraft twin jogger)

Well I bit the bullet and bought the Valco Aero stroller yesterday as a 'cheapie' to chuck in the car (as per my post above). Its only suitable for 6 mo+ as it has no layback settings but is perfect for zooming around the shops with older kids. It weighs 9.9kgs (vs the 16kg runabout) and folds almost completely flat (takes about 1/3 of the room the runabout does when folded).

The price was good too - most places seem to be selling it for $239, but I found a place at $159 (and then they took off 10% for multiple birth discount!) so it worked out to be very cheap.

So far so good, but I'll think I'll need to take it for a test run at the DJs sale to be sure... ;p

I'll still use the runabout for proper walks, outdoors and whole days out as its better in mixed terrain and more comfy for the kids.

Just thought I'd let everyone know what its like as its a new release. If I discover any flaws, I'll let you know!

Just wondering if anyone has looked at or used the peg perego aria twin pram?
Thinking of laybying this one - any comments?

We like the look of this one because it folds easily and only wieghs 8 kgs! Suitable for newborns - a little pricey $700.
Our car is not huge so boot space was a big factor.

Hi, first posting today- I am interested in 'which pram?' as I have been searching too..... we really liked the babylove duolite which lots of you also like, however it didn't fit into our boot or through our front door so that was out......

Seems the only option we have is for the Love n care sporty twin as we really want a jogger

Has anyone actually got the steelcraft double jogger yet??? we have been waiting for ages for it to come into babies galore but still waiting - I am 30 weeks pg now so don't want to hang around much longer. Just wondering if the steelcraft is the same size as the duolite (too big)

Any help appreciated, thanks :confuse:

Hi doubleblessing,
We have just bought the new duo lite jogger. It is called a Orbital and is a little narrower than the old one and also has the 2 seperate boot covers now. Before we purchased this, we looked at the new Steelcraft Jogger and were not all that impressed. We found the baby seats to be very narrow, there were some hard edges within head butt region, the handle was tall and it appeared to be a little tacky.
I understand the love n care sporty is also a good pram as it gets good wraps in the twins and multiples section.
Best of luck.
Regards,
Scott

Hi Everyone,

This is my first time posting, so fingers crossed it works!!

I'm 22 weeks pregnant with twins and have a 2 1/2 year old toddler, Amy. I too am having the twin pram debate raging on and need some help.

The problem seems to be finding one that is narrow enough to fit through standard doors, but which also has provision for a toddler - either seat or that can take a skateboard attachment. I've had a Valco Runabout with our toddler and have been very happy with it, but obviously this isn't going to work with 2 (just another expense!!). Reading everyone's replies, it looks like the Valco or Love'n'Care Twin Sporty seem to be pretty popular, and I know the Valco has a toddler seat facility, but it seems pretty wide.

Thanks heaps, and look forward to hearing from some of you.

Welcome Deb and congrats. I find my Valco runabout fits through most doors - except my front door! (We have an old house). Generally though I have no probs with doors out and about, the biggest issue I find is navigating around shops where they put pretty 'displays' on the ends of aisles etc. 9/10 I just bowl 'em over.

I DID have a problem in our local library. I reported it as if I didn't fit through the door ways would not meet Aus Stds for wheelchair access either. They have now changed the entrance way (there was more than just my complaint).

I've just bought the Valco Aero stroller which is lighter and better around the shops but not suitable for < 6 months (no lay-back settings, no toddler seat either).
