I've been feeling a bit 'blah' lately.

I don't take any pills or medicines of any kind (natural or otherwise) and am thinking perhaps it would be a good idea to 'do' something for myself.

I was thinking multivitamin, maybe some EPO (been noticing I'm a moody b**ch around/post ovulation) and something for a bit of 'get up and go' as mine has got up and gone lately sad.gif I'm sick of feeling wiped out most days and wishing my kids would 'take care of themselves' sometimes ( ph34r.gif unsure.gif sad.gif ) and since I'm now in my 'mid 30's it's probably a good idea to start being a bit more proactive about my well being.

So, what do you take and why???

I take iodine, as we dont get iodine in bread or milk anymore and there are far too many people with thyroid problems, so i dont want to be one. I was also very tired before and now i have heaps of energy.

I also use coconut oil, and this adds all the good stuff that i need especially with cooking.

Other than that we are on an organic diet, and feel so much better than before we changed our eating habits.

Any good B vitamin complex is great for energy. If you go to a health food shop they can advise what are the best vitamins to suit your needs.

I take an acidophilus bifidus capsule every morning to help with digestive issues.

I take a Swisse Womens Multi every morning, I think it's the best one on the market.

I take a Swisse Hair Skin Nails supplement every morning and they really have improved since starting it.

Finally I take a Berocca (or cheaper equivalent) since DD2 was born to help with low energy from sleep deprivation and have kept taking it ever since and it really does give you a b-b-bounce original.gif

MyMiracleBabies... FSANZ have stipulated that all bread (except organic) must contain iodine since 2009

Then why do so many people have thyroid problems? Read the list of ingredients in bread and see what you are really eating. My suggestion is to eat organic bread and take iodine. Look closely into the foods you are eating. See the numbers of chemicals, additives, preservatives etc that are in the food. Everyone should be taking iodine, and until you try it and feel amazing then you should not go against it. I felt horrible before i took it and now i have heaps of energy.

Is there anywhere we can go, and they do a assassment etc and they can tell us what we need? Id like to know exactly what i need, not just a blood test to say this and that, I want everythng to be taken into consideration iykwim? And I just dont think my Dr is in the "know" with supplements etc

I find when i'm feeling blah, i take a probiotic (i use enliven by miessence). i definitely notice the difference when i'm not taking it! its way better then "inner health plus" (wayy more good bacteria).

Decent food, plus some exercise (even just regular walk) is what does it for me. I used to try all kinds of different things, but really, doing exercise makes the most difference for me!
