Just ask. I always ask at all my scans. Even if you say you want one to show your DP who couldn't make it. I'm sure they get the request all the time.
At 12 weeks you will see a bubby

A very small bubby but one you can definitely make out.

They offered me pictures with both of my scans (8wk & 12wk) and said I get a DVD with all my scan results after my 20wk scan...
So I think its pretty common, whether they offer or you have to ask!
Good Luck!

Yes, ask! We got a whole heap of photos both times and a DVD with the photos and some of the video clips.
Enjoy, you will definitely be able to see your baby. It is quite amazing at 12 weeks I thought.

Of course! I've never even asked for a pic, they just printed them out and gave me one. In fact we paid a little extra at the 12 week scan and got a DVD.

The sonographer made sure to get a really good shot of the baby for the picture, you can see it waving.

And you will be able to see a lot at 12 weeks - hands, feet, fingers and toes.
Definitely let them know you'd love a pic so that if there is a really good shot available they can take it for you.

The early scans are the best ones for pictures and you can see the whole baby in the picture. It is small enough to be picked up as one image.
The further along you get the less you see at once! It is all individual bits and pieces.
You won't look like an idiot, everyone wants that first picture!

Just ask at the scan if you can have a picture, but most places i know of do them anyway, they looks like a baby at the 12wk scan so small and cute

We got given 3 printed ones, and a DVD. It ws only 30secs but worth it either way. It was all in the cost we paid so. I even got a print out from my OB's office at 8wks so you should. If you want to make sure, ask before they start the scan so they do it. It wont hurt to enquire although im sure u get them anyway!!
