Hi, I need to decide if I want to send my 3 yr old to a preschool next year. Just wondering what others pay in Sydney for 2 days of preschool for a 3 yr old. There seem to be a few different types of preschools around my local area so just interested in what others pay. Thanks for your help.

My DS goes to a pre-school in the inner west of Sydney three days a week. It is a private pre-school attached to the school he will attend and we pay $9500 per year. Supply own food and drink. I think the 2 day fees are around $6000.

Northern Beaches Sydney long day care, all meals provided (morning/afternoon tea, 2 course lunch, late snack, all cooked fresh every day on premsies) $75 per day.

I am in the inner west at a preschool attached to the local public school. The preschool has a three day and two day group. The three day group pay $300 a term and the two day group pay $200 a term. I think that it works out to be about $10 a day!!!

We were so excited to pay this as we moved our DD1 to the preschool from a daycare centre where we were paying $100 a day ... and couldn't be happier!

I'm not in Sydney, but I'm paying $50 a day

Open 48weeks of the year and officially "Approved childcare" so we get CCB and rebate, even though it runs as a dedicated preschool (3-5yr olds only, preschool program)

So you might want to look into the different types.
Most dedicated preschools are only registered care, so you can only get back a very very small amount, and no childcare rebate.
LDC will run a preschool room, and you can just use preschool hours - you need to check their preschool program
And then some preschools, like mine, that run just as a preschool but are technically childcare.

Also, take into consideration there are no rebates with preschools but there are with long day care centres, both teach the same thing usually.

Our local preschool charges 39 a day
daycare charges 70 but with rebates(dh working fulltime, me part time) it ends up about 15 a day for us.

DS (almost 3) will start at the 2/day week preschool affiliated with the private school DD will attend. Cost is $5000 per annum (9am - 3pm, meals included. Closed over school holidays). This is in the Epping/Beecroft/Pennant Hills corridor.

He is currently attending LDC at a wonderful KU branch -- cost is $81/day (but we get the 50% rebate because I work).

$60 per day, they have a chef at the school who make all their meals for the day. 8.45am-3.30pm

They also do yoga, sports and Italian.

The preschool DS will be attending next year is a not for profit dedicated preschool (3-6 years). It's $35 per day, supply your own morning tea and lunch. They run school terms 9-3pm
Our centre is the same so fees are claimable for working/studying parents.

Inner west here and have experience 2 pre school.. ku-sunbeam was $41 a day 9 to 3 take your own food(last year). Currently Camdenville Preschool attached to a school and only for child turning 4 before 31 July cost $100 a week this INCLUDES all food the cost is broken into $15 a day for food and the rest is for the preschool cost. If we go on holidays and give them notice we do not pay the food costs but only for full weeks.. If there is a PH in the week we do not pay the food.. hours 9 to 3

DS will be going to a KU preschool (not long daycare centre) next year and it will cost about $41 per day I think. BYO morning tea and lunch.

Hours 9am - 3pm - closed during school holidays.

Provide your own morning tea and lunch (like at school so kids get used to managing food packaging and lunch boxes).

Rebates available for eligible families.

I think you can get rebates. Not sure as we're not eligible for any.

$53/day 8am-4pm with meals provided, but it is approved for the CCB and rebate stuff (sorry, don't know the details, I am not eligible for anything, but the director said I'm the only family that doesn't get a 50% rebate from the gov, which would make it only $26.50/day). It is open every week except for 3 weeks over Christmas/New Year.

Our local council-run one is about $36/day 9-3 and you HAVE to do 2 days a week for 3yo. School terms only. I have my boys down for this one, but will probably end up just sending them to the other one so I can just do 1 day a week.

Typically long day care costs $60-$75/day. 6am-6pm (roughly). They provide food, drinks etc.

Preschool costs around $35-$40/day, 9am-3pm. You provide food and drinks.

I would look for a community based centre. They are not for profit and usually have better resources than private centres. JMO. They are less money oriented and more child focused.

My kids went to a Council run pre-school 9am to 3pm. We have to bring morning tea, lunch and drinks. It cost $35 per day. No child care rebate.

I am thinking of using a community run day care for the next child so i can get the child care rebate and have the flexibility of longer hours (when needed). Just have to find one with a good preschool program. Agree with Two Blue.

We pay $85per day for 7am - 6pm all meals & snacks included.
It's a bit steep but DD1 loves it, they do a school readiness program and she is learning a lot... the activities are quite impressive and I always feel like lingering when I drop her off to munch out on hot breakfast and watch hatching chicks and build volcanoes

The preschool my DS will be going to next yr is a NSW Dept of Ed one and is $19 day. Only runs in school terms from 9-3 and you need to bring your own morning tea and lunch.

Private Preschool in western Sydney $53 a day, you can be there from 7.30- 5.30(we don't though), morning and afternoon tea are included. CCB available also.
