My daughter is Madelin and whenever i try to buy novelty items in the shops they are always spelt Madeleine or madeliene cant remember where the i goes

I've only heard of one other 'Madelyn' it's not the common spelling at all. I chose it to avoid the pronouncing of 'ine' like 'whine' it is quite obvious when spelt how to pronounce (ie when she's in school) and the added of if she doesn't like her name she can always shorten it to Lyn.

Good Luck with an obviously GREAT name wink.gif

I much prefer the spelling Madeline. I think it's too pretty a name to need creative spelling. :-)

I like the spelling Madeleine and the pronounciation ‘mad-el-line.’ Madelyn IMO is pronounced ‘mad-el-lyn’

Yes, someone obviously searched for their child's name and resurrected a thread nearly seven years old!
