I like Kell (reminds me of Michael Hutchences Dad).

I really like the name Kellan, which is a Celtic name meaning "Powerful".

Kelling is nice, I just think maybe (and just my opinion) it sounds a little bit like Kellie (like people who dont listen properly might mistake it). To me Kellan sounds a bit more masculine.

But I do like it & Kelling Jarvis or Kell Jarvis sounds good.

Gosh I wish I was working with that surname!

i agree with redjelly, I think of Michael Hutchence's dad too .. Kelland.
Personally, I love Kelly for a boy. Think Kelly Slater. Yum.

LOL original.gif Redjelly stole my idea original.gif I was watching "A Country Practice" yesterday morning while doing some needle work and happened to look up in the credits. One of the "guests" for the week was named Kellan and I thought "what an unusual name - I'll remember that one for the ladies in EB land!"

As far as shortening it to Kell, I'm with the ladies who think it reminds them of the female "Kelly" but that's just IMHO! As you read quite often in here, go with whatever works for you!

Isn't Kath from Kath and Kim's hubby called Kel in the series? That is the first thing I thought of. I personally don't like surnames as christian names and think that Kelling sounds too much like a surname and it is pretty close to Killing. I much prefer Kellen too. Hope my honesty isn't too hard on you!! original.gif

Have to agree, I prefer Kellan, I actually saw this name the other day after reading about your choice of names on the other thread, and thought of you when I saw it. To me it sounds like Killing, also.

Good luck with your name choice. original.gif

I must admit Killing was the first thing that sprung to mind but I do like the slight variations thats have been suggested.

You name the kid what you like. I make a point of never telling people what names we have picked out because when they don't like the name you can read the expression on their face and it puts you off the name. It's your kid go with whatever you like. As you have noticed from some of the responses some like it and some don't and this may influence you into not taking the name.
lookin4names!
