So I finished The Handmaid's Tale, and needed something... so of course, stupid me goes from a little book to a MASSIVE book... lol.
Anyway, I don't even know much of what it's about, haven't started it yet, but is it any good?
I dunno why I purchased it... I was in desperate need of a book (I feel lost when I'm not reading one), and I'd seen it a few times and the tiny blurb on the back interested me...

A friend loaned The Historian to me, saying how much I'd love it, and to be honest it bored me. It dragged on way too long, and there were too many first person narrations tied together sloppily in my opinion. Not the worst book I've ever read, but disappointing.

I found the excitement and suspense created in the first half of the book wasn't maintained in the second half when the story started to drag. Worth a read, but wasn't good enough to compel me to buy her follow up novel. It will probably make a better movie as they'd cut out all the boring stuff.

I liked it even though I agree with learner_mum to a degree. I also liked the second one. BOth are a bit silly but still very enjoyable reads.
