Hi twin mummies
So Kobe and Marley are 5 months on Wednesday (im still alive and coping...so far...) - but im not sure how much longer they will both fit in the capsules as their heads are nearing the top and their feet near the end - damn you both STOP growing - hehehe
Just wondering what you all did for this "in between" stage where clearly cant walk or crawl - arent sitting up - and cant latch themselves around my waist...
For example i have my 4yr olds immunisations coming up next week - thank god boys will still be in their capsules..but...if they werent what would i do....the drs surgery's door is too narrow for the twin pram (babyjogger citimini double) and even if it did fit thru the door it wouldnt fit up the corridor to the rooms so what would i do had they not been in capsules....im sure there are those of you that didnt even use a capsule so just wanting your ideas....baby bjorn for one doesnt even seem like a possibility as where would the other sit?
Thanks ladies

Ended up using the pram alot, the capsule (we only had one and the other twin was in a carseat) got too heavy to lift by 5 -6 months.
We had to go and by a new stroller that would fit through the childcare door (that was my biggest hassle).
For the places that the pram just wouldn't fit, we used the carrier and a single umbrella stroller, and DS1 would walk beside the pram.
Sorry not much help, I have learnt, you just have to adapt to the new situations as they arise, it will all work out in the end.
All the best

I regularly put one in the Ergo and one on the hip

Once you get inside it will mainly be sitting, so its only the walking in and around that will be awkward

(Your doctors must be narrow!!!! The CMD sits through a standard doorway!!)

I've had to use our BJCMB at our GP's & it is a tight fit, but we do squeeze through. The receptionist has told us next time we need to visit, just ring them before we leave & they will open the wheelchair entrance for us. Maybe that could be an option for you???

We never had capsules - just reversible car seats. I never had any problem fitting my BJCMD through any door or hall fortunately.
If I were you I would take the pram and carry one baby to the treatment rooms and ask a Nurse, Receptionist, Dr. etc to carry the other.
My girls have always been tiny so even when they couldn't support their own neck I could hold them both at once. Actually the whole past year has been full of holding/carrying both at once.

I used to put one in the sling and the other in a single stroller for drs or any other small space, plus all those times when it was just a hassle to take the double pram out eg to duck into the shops. I actually found the 'in between' stage lasted a long time. It just changed from you needing help to coordinate being able to move them, to needing help to contain them so you can keep them safe.

just a thought - sometimes going backwards through more narrow doors helps to manouver it so you fit. Not sure why, but at my work, I cant fit in going straight ahead, but when I back in its fine. I have a BJCMD, and it SHOULD fit through a standard door, but my work is dodgy

I used to put one in the Baby Bjorn and carry the other - although one of mine was small so she was in her capsule until 8 or 9 months so I didn't have to start carrying her on my hip until later. The receptionist at the doctor's always offered to carry one for me though, and help out with holding one during vaccinations.

I only ever had one in a capsule, the other in a reversible car seat. I used a P&T single with double seat from the start (used the reclining double seat for Mr Boofhead who could hold his head up from birth, and the newborn position for Mr Floppy), so I had no trouble going places with it. The only time I had an issue was when I saw a different dr at my regular surgery, whose consulting room was upstairs!
TBH, my stroller was my lifesaver. Even just getting into and out of the house was easier if I used the stroller, otherwise a lot of running back and forth would have been involved.

Like Kazzil, I used a single pram and put the other in the baby born or carried them. Maybe you could buy a cheap or second hand single pram to overcome things like this. I found having one a lifesaver.
I agree with Kitty-n that sometimes I found going backwards through a doorway with my double made it easier to fit, even though in theory it should fit going forwards too.

Thanks for your replies ladies..to be honest - the BJCMD may fit thru the surgery door but def wouldnt fit up the hall way....a should pop jesse's old single stroller in the boot for these times....
ETA - Lea79 ive got to ask - do you celebrate your twins birthday on seperate days ? ie opening pressies etc??

I would be using the single stroller if you have one, it will make those trips much less painful.
To answer your question, we let Cali open a present on her own last year on her actual birthday and then we had the party on Oscar's birthday and they opened the rest of the presents then. This year with them being more aware of what is going on will be interesting to see what happens. No party this year, so I think we will give them presents one the same day otherwise I think there will be tears. It might change as they get older and understand more though.
