QUOTE (kalita @ 15/06/2010, 05:07 PM)

Who could eat in labour?
Certainly not me althought I was staving after lol.
Thumbs up who thinks they kept Kath after her appointment and she is either getting induced or is in labour?

I ate a roast dinner in early labour. It was dinner time. I would have eaten breakfast the next morning (still in labour), but I was looking down the barrel of a c/s, so they wouldn't let me.

I was looking after someone in labour once who was eating toast when I came on in the morning. Not half an hour later she was pushing!! AND a baby popped out of her vagina. I reckon Kath is in labour too; she is conspicuous by her absence....

For the record I was scoffing lollies while All Saints was on. Think I was too pumped to sleep!! Or maybe it was that coffee I had with DH after we left maternity.
I'll just copy and paste a bit here that I emailed to a GF earlier today as I prob need to get to bed to get some sleep
"Went at 8:30 this morning, they hooked me up to monitor to check the baby. The baby was a bit ‘sad’ for the first 10 minutes – midwife thinks it may have just been asleep. But I think it was because she had me in the most uncomfortable position that my head was bent forward and I couldn’t breathe properly. (plus very hot in maternity) She then got me to drink some OJ to get the baby to perform what she needed to see – the baby’s heartbeat had to have a variable range of 5 and she needed 4 movements in 10 minutes. After about an hour we got there OK.
After that the midwife had a grope, baby’s head is down, but not all the way down. She did an internal and said cervix wasn’t ready for stretch and sweep was still a bit posterior. She then consulted with Damien. (yep everything they say is true about him – he sh*ts all over Dr McDreamy and Dr McSteamy. Reckon one look in his eyes and you might even consider having another baby!!). Damien wants to see me again at 8 in the morning and he will probably put the gel on. He told me to bring my bags – told him they were already in the car."
So we are off to maternity again in the morning. I have booked Tayla in for a casual day at daycare.
Keep an eye out for an announcemant from TPM or super-techno Kath will update status on FB
Hopefully I am about to get some sleep zzzz night xxx

me too!

for Kath soon please!
Yes, life with two kiddlets is becoming the new normal, thanks for asking LAM and Toddles.
I fluctuate between bliss and horror that time is slipping away too quickly. It's a weird sort of mortality dread. Luckily it is mostly the good stuff. I love reading everyone's updates, keep them coming!

P.S. You are such a fox Toddles! Getting chased brings back memories!

Hi all,
Just thought I would come in and say hi. I have ordered myself some child free time and am sitting in the bedroom watching a movie. Although my idea of childfree time includes folding laundry apparently.
Well I have reached my first breastfeeding checkpoint. I have been feeding Owen for more than 6 weeks now. I only fed Annabelle for 4 weeks, so it is quite an achievement for me.
Annabelle came down with something yesterday. She was really unhappy, threw up everywhere and slept the afternoon away. But she seems fine now.
Where is Adarlyn lately? And dairymum seems to have deserted us. Although I still see her on facebook.
God I wish I could get my washing dry. It has been raining every single day and my entire hills hoist is full of nappies and I have just about run out of clean dry nappies. And DH and I have no clean clothes because I have nowhere to hang them to dry. Oh well. Fun, fun, fun.
Bye

Hasn't it got a bit quieter in here with Kath busy! Hope things are going well darling xx.
HOPE isn't it fun trying to get washing dry! We constantly have 2 clothes horses full and do resort to the dryer at times. And I am not a cloth nappy girl! Is little Owen a bit more settled for you now, feeding a bit less frequently? Hope so. And well done!
Hello Blessed, Pads, Lisa and Em. Hope you are all chugging away nicely. I'm struggling away, it's 2.47am at the moment, I just cannot sleep! Bubba is being very violent, feels rather like he's running out of room which I suppose he is. Bella ran away from me the other day down the middle of the road forcing me to run after her (not a pretty sight) and I hurt my groin, it's much better but hurts a bit in bed rolling over and such. So my eyes are nearly hanging out of my head at the moment! Well I'm full of excitement so might be off to read some stuff. Take care everyone xxx Rachel.

Owen is more settled Rachel. He feeds 2 1/2 hourly during the day and 3 hourly overnight. Although last night he went nearly 5 hours between feeds, and my boobs still haven't recovered. He is shocking for arsenic hour though, which lasts 4pm to bedtime in this house. Nothing will settle him then. So lucky it is the same time Annabelle is turning feral and the same time I am cooking dinner.
Well I am off to try for a shower before DD wakes up. If DS will let me that is.
