Seeing them in two cities this time round, OMG can't wait!

Strange that they're skipping Adelaide though ...

http://muse.mu/tour-dates/upcoming/2010/12/

~flaxen~
I know what I'll be asking for as an (early) Xmas present wink.gif
*lalah*
Hopefully they add some Adelaide dates.

I met them at BDO a few years ago - they were really nice! Also spectacular live.
Mish77
Yay!!! Have been waiting for this one!
Have seen them 6 times but they just keep getting better and better!

Getting my pre sale tickets on Friday!!
Mish77
Got my ticket this morning original.gif

For Melbourne
munchi
DH's Chrissy present sorted!
Mish77
Did you get them today? The pre-sale is on however I rekon it's probably sold out now. General public tickets go on sale on Monday
~flaxen~
I got mine for Sydney today. 2 GA and one Gold Seated, just in case my sister is up the duff by then. I'll sell the spare closer to the date, but only for what I paid for it. We just wanted to cover all bases tongue.gif
Mish77
I got the gold reserved tickets flaxen. The last 2 times I have seen them i have been pregnant so it'll be nice to NOT be this time!! hehe!

Are you a member on the forum too? Is that how you got the pre-sale?
~flaxen~
To be honest Mish, I was aware of the forum, and have used it to check on tour dates, news and what not, but only joined when I read about the presale. Yes, I'm one of THOSE that they whine about, however my admiration pre-dates the Twilight movie, so I'm not entirely evil ph34r.gif
MrsDoobie
Matt Bellamy...*sigh*....

I can't wait - DH bought our tickets this morning too original.gif
Mish77
Are any of you guys going to the Melbourne show? I am so damn excited I cannot wait!!!!
Siouxie
I have tics to Perth, and am going to wing it closer to the date for Melb. Even if I have to pay a scalper, lol!

OMG so excited too!!! eexcite.gif

Mish - what're you hoping for in the set? My ideal show would be most of Origin of Symmetry, Absolution and a bit of Black Holes & Rev. They've lost me a bit with their new material (Resistance). My God, if they play Citizen Erased, Showbiz, Hysteria, Assasin or Uno, I might just faint ... heck any of their older grittier stuff would make me squeal biggrin.gif Stockholm Syndrome, Darkshines, Cave .... yes please!!
~flaxen~
Interrupting your conversation ph34r.gif Uno is so... blush.gif sexy, for want of another word. But I'm hoping for a lot of Origin of Symmetry and Absolution.

What do you think of Neutron Star Collision Siouxie? Now that's where they've lost me.

Is anyone going to Sydney?
Mish77
Def Absolution, that was my fav album. I'm a little lost on the new stuff too!

Would love the setlist to look like this (but I know it won't!)

Cave
Uno
Newborn
Bliss
Sunburn
Invincible
Darkshines (arrggg LOVE this song!)
Muscle Museum
Apolcolypse please (They opened both their 2004 shows with this, AMAZING!!)
Stockholm Syndrome
Citizen Erased
Knights of Cydonia (They opened their 2007 concert with this, freaking loved it!!!)
Butterfiles and Hurricanes
Starlight (Had this played at the end of our wedding ceremony!)
Unintended
Hysteria (my fav!!)

If anything from the new album then probably "I belong to you", it's pretty funky!

Neutron Star Collision? Neutron missed the mark! I think that is the result when you write for a movie and not from your usual place!
somebodynew
I only found out today. Am a diehard fan but the tour date is around the same time OB said I would be induced cry1.gif cry1.gif cry1.gif cry1.gif cry1.gif cry1.gif
Mish77
Oh you'll be right!! I saw them in 2004 when I was 8 months pregnant and then in 2007 when I was only a couple of weeks off my due date! Just push it back a day!! heheheeee! I missed them this Jan at the BDO because they played on my wedding night. I was seriously considering leaving the reception early to go see them!

.

TBH I have listened to maybe a third of it, and literally switched off. Ugh. I was hoping that The Resistance would only be a blip on the radar, but it seems they've evolved into something else entirely. I miss old Muse so much. That said, I'd love to see Exogensis live, and maybe Undisclosed Desires.

Mish the other day (when the tics were bought) I put on the hullabaloo DVD on some ridiculous volume, and began imagining the show ahead biggrin.gif Have you got that DVD? If you're a fan of OOS and Showbiz - you'll LOVE that DVD. (But I bet you already have it). The live performance of Cave is just insane... God I hope they play that.

Have you seen Citizen erased live? Does Matt do that massive jump at the beginning after his opening guitar riff?? Agh!! I can't wait - that would have to be number one live *must see*. I hear that newborn is incredible live, too.

And Butterflies and Hurricanes.... ohhhhh fingers crossed. For keyboard performance alone, I'd also love Ruled By Secrecy and Space Dementia too.

What do you guys think of Megolomania? MK Ultra and Screenager?

And how unbelievably *hawt* is Chris on Bass in Hysteria?? wub.gif You can definately tell he wrote that - that and Stockholm Syndrome - his babies. Very bass lead, raw tracks.

somebodynew - Ohh! Talk about timing!! You could sing 'Time is running out' and really mean it biggrin.gif I hope you either get there or see them at some stage otherwise.

Mish77
I would love to but I am in Canberra so would need to travel to Sydney. Oh and that minor issue of collapsing all the time sad.gif Legs just don't want to hold me up late in pregnacy hence the induction. It started at 26 weeks last time, and OB said it would start again earlier this time. Sure enough there is clicking and pain already.
Hopefully they will be back again soon

Siouxie
Thanks original.gif I think I will just have to be content with the DVD till they are back again
Mish77
Siouxie, Yep I have Hullabaloo on DVD and CD, love it! I also have the Absolution tour on DVD, it's my favourite as it's so similar to the first show I went to. I have seen Citizen Erased live, it is awesome.
My favourite though was the last time I saw them they opened with Knights of Cydonia and my goodness, it was surreal! The stage was dark and then the lights came on suddenyl and you heard " Ahh Ahh Ahh, Ahh Ahh Ahh" oh and then there he was with his guitar, amazing!!

If you want a copy of the Absolution dvd let me know and I can burn it for you original.gif
Lexillotti
I've made DH book tickets for Melb, even though the concert is 12 days after my due date and I always have gone overdue! Maybe I'll be able to leave the baby in the nursery and sneak out! Dh kindly got seats so at least I don't have to stand the whole time!

I'm not so fond of the new album, so I made myself listen to it the other day on the train. The train was delayed in the loop for 25 minutes so I listened to the whole album in an 8 km trip!
~sonique~
I'm going to the Perth concert, it will be the first time I see them live. I can't wait!!!
Siouxie
Mish I would LOVE a copy of the Absolution DVD!! Yes please!! It's one I've been meaning to get around to ...

Yes, I think COD would be brilliant live. It's funny, because as a stand alone, I've never really rated it that much, although I still think a show would be lost without it. "Come ride with me through the veins of history, I'll show you a God who falls asleep on the job" cool.gif Just looking at the performance of COD from the HAARP show at Wembley stadium .... *sigh* God can you imagine what that would've been like?? The clip though is brilliant... very Tarantino. I think Darryl Hannah would'nt look out of place in that one.

Have you heard the acoustic versions of Cave? There's a funky jazz version of it, and some that are more vocally led than others. I especially love the live performances of this one with piano opening (instead of guitar).

I seriously need to witness a live performance of Ruled By Secrecy or Butterflies & Hurricanes, for Matt's sheer prowess on the piano. Or Space Dementia ...

Lexalotti - is there anything from the Resistance that you like? What do you think of Exogensis?

~sonique~ - see you at Bassendeen! happy.gif

Mish77
Butterflies & Hurricanes is amazing live, at the Absolution concert Matt had a keyboard that lit up as he played it.

Here are some photos from the Hi-Fi Bar gig in Melbourne in Jan 04, they are bad photos cos I took them with the sh*tty phone I had at the time, but you get a picture of how intimate the gig was, you could get to the front of the stage no problems! Then the 2 I went to at Festival Hall we had seats so couldn't get anywhere near them sad.gif The seats we have at Rod Laver in December and right near the stage so fingers crossed they let you take cameras in!

Siouxie, PM me your address and I'll get a copy to you original.gif
Mish77
I have 2 more images but EB won;t let me post them! It has to be in a new post!

Siouxie
Oh God Mish, that looks fantastic - you certainly were spoilt for top position there. I can only imagine the atmosphere being so close... Very, very lucky indeed!
~flaxen~
Just bumping to say last night in Syd was AWESOME ddance.gif I wish I'd got tickets for tonight as well!!!
mplsv
I gave my DS15 a ticket to next Tuesdays concert in Melbourne for his christmas present and since he's so young thought I should go with him to supervise wink.gif

We are pretty excited as we are both concert newbies and love Muse. My mother however is disapointed she didn't get a ticket too and will be at home looking after DD7 lol.

Muse is a bit of a family affair in this house biggrin.gif
Lexillotti
I'm going on Tuesday! Very excited. Lucky baby came on his due date, so he'll be 12 days old. I'm leaving him with Mum, so been expressing.
Mish77
well last night was FANTASTIC!!

we were 12 rows from the front, side view (Matt's side) and when he went on that podium thing he was RIGHT infront of me! DROOL!!!!
mplsv
We were there last night too Mish77 and I have to agree with you it was pretty awesome!

It's gonna be hard to top that as a christmas present for DS15 lol.
Mish77
here are some photos I took from our seats on Tuesday night, but they are a bit blurry because Matt moved too fast for my camera!

Oh my Mish! *fanning self*

In your second pic, about halfway down the mic stand would be about where my sister was seated in Syd. I was in the middle of the floor, but by halfway had harassed my way to second from the front (so maybe if I had a pool cue I could have poked Matt). There wasn't much of a mosh to be honest...it was a lot tamer then when I'd seen them previously. More of a squish, but I was soaked by the end of the night. I don't see how you can just stand there and not react to their music Sydney! I wasn't game enough to take a camera/phone with me but my sister has some great photos on her phone
