Interesting Amanda! I was lying in bed the other night and heard a name in my head, yes I'm wierd tongue.gif Anyway, same thing, not the name I've had picked out for 6 years, very interesting. I've never dreamt I'm having a girl, and only with DS1 did I dream he was a boy.

I'm finding out at my scan though, so only another 14 or so weeks. I'll have my first scan at around 12 weeks probably, for the nuchal fold test.

Claire, you are far from a bad mum, accidents happen, even if you were up there with her she still could have tripped. I hope she's (and you!) are feeling better soon.
Liz27
Hello girls, waves.gif

Claire, no way are you a bad mummy. Accidents happen, and you can't always be right there to stop them.

Megan, I hope that the gastro leaves you alone soon. You poor thing, it is just such a horrible thing to have.

Brooke, sorry that gastro is in your house too. Hopefully you are all feeling better soon. I can't believe that Cameron is 1 already.

Amanda, we have that car seat too for Lachie and he loves it as well. Hope that your scan goes well. Are you finding out the sex? I can't remember if you said that or not.

Lachie loves Murray the red Wiggle too. With him, he loves him cause he plays guitar. It's funny that he is the one they all like the best.

Hi to everyone else.

Not much happening with us. Lachie has suddenly developed really bad excema all over his body. I don't know what is causing it, he has had it mildly before but never like this, and he keeps scratching at his skin until it is bleeding. Poor little man, he is not too happy with it. I have an appointment with a dermatologist, so will see what they have to say about it. Apart from that, we are just cruising along trying to balance work life and home life.
tortagianduia
I'm 20 weeks pregnant today!!! Halfway there! ddance.gif Unfortunately the ms is still hanging around and I have had one vomit this morning sad.gif .

Rebecca, a new name for you too! I am glad I am not the only one. I don't think I am going to switch though. I am a bit tempted to find out the sex, but DH is adamant he wants it kept a surprise, so I guess I'll be waiting... How are you feeling today? Was it ms, or paint fumes mixed with ac?

Liz, so sorry to hear Lachie's eczema has flared so badly. Poor little guy. Hope the dermatologist will be able to work out what's causing it.

I'm hoping my stomach settles soon because we are supposed to be meeting the ILs for dinner tonight - early celebration for my birthday which is Monday. Only 3 days now until my scan!
babybump2
Oh Amanda you poor thing still suffering with ms but sooooo exciting that you scan is so soon and your birthday too!

Ughhh girls I accidently bumped into my friend I told you all about this morning. After dropping Macy off at kinder this morning, Beau and I went for a coffee. I felt so shocked to see her, as I wasn't expecting it and have been kinda avoiding her + kids have been sick so I haven't seen her for about a month.

I had a physical reaction - got hot and just wanted to get out of there. Awkward. I quickly warned her that Beau has conjunctivitis and therefore we couldn't come near them. Unfortunately she had taken the table next to where we were seated. rolleyes.gif And look it wasn't really anything she said - but i just wanted to run. She did the mandatory how are you bits... but then went straight into that she went to the school that her DS is going to next year. And proceeded to rant on for seriously 5 minutes about how wonderful it is and how thrilled she is that her son is going to such a wonderful school. And maybe I am being overly sensitive... but last time we spoke I told her about not getting into the school we were hoping for because we are out of the zone by a street. sad.gif

I don't think I have ever drunk my coffee so quick in MY LIFE! She also proceeded to just TALK all about herself. Ughhhh.

Still stewing on it all a bit....

I have only read good reviews about the BJ prams - hopefully you were just unlucky? The one I am looking at is a new design just released this year.

I hope so, we don't seem to have a very good track record with prams, at the moment I'm thinking about getting a Valco the one after the trimode. We'd looked at it before we got the ABC but cause Valco's customer service is so bad we went with the ABC, in hindsight we may have been better off with the Valco! Now to find one for $100! lolol
mygorgeousboy
Hi Girls,

Just popping in and thought id gve a quick reply.

Sary, you poor thing. I just hate hate hate being in awkward situations like that. And it sucks you didn't get to have a nice relaxing coffee. sad.gif

Amanda, YAY on being 20weeks. Thats exciting. Sorry you still having some ms. We haven't found out the sex either but i am finding it really hard now as i can't seem to find any unisex clothes for newborns. Either pink or blue!!! We didn't find out with H either and survived with getting some clothes after he was born so i guess its alright. Have a nive dinner tonight original.gif

Liz, I hope Lachie's eczema improves soon. My ever growing belly has been quite itchy lately too and its driving me nuts. Goodluck with the dermatologist!

We are off to swimming lessons this afternoon. H has refused his daytime sleep so it should be interesting. rolleyes.gif

ginnyk
Hi Ladies,

Holly, have a good swim with H original.gif Its hard when they give up that daytime sleep, hope he (and you!) are coping ok... is he going to be earlier because of it ?

Argh Sary, don't you hate those situations! I would of skulled my coffee too to get out of there....

Liz, hope Lachies excma clears up, Milly is the same at the moment, no idea why... maybe there is something in the air...?

amanda - Not sure if the MG mum likes the pram yet -she only just had the baby and I haven't seen her yet... but she definitely liked the look of it original.gif Milly is in her own room - when she was in ours, there was no way she would stay in her cot all night. Now she doesn't mind being in her own room, just wakes frequently, maybe to check I'm still here! Wow, 20weeks, how exciting!! Interesting about the dream, its so weird what your subconscious can come up with!

Claire - oh so sorry about E's fall, but as everyone else has said, it wasn't your fault - these things happen with kids. Hope she is recovering ok!!

Hi everyone else original.gif

Us - the house renos are slowly getting there, thanks for asking - we ran out of money so it all stopped for a while, but now we refinanaced, and finally bought an oven so that will be installed soon. THen a bit of tiling, and a few finishing touches and we are done for now, yay!! Then onto the outside!! That will be a BIG job !! I havent updated the blog for a while, I'll post the link on our other blog (and try and update original.gif

Well, better go do the grocery shopping whilst amelia is having a nap...

xoxo

Morning girls!

I had my scan yesterday morning - all is looking good and bub is measuring a little ahead. I have put some scan pics and my first belly pic on the blog. My mum came over after the scan with a cake for my birthday and was extremely disappointed we hadn't found out the sex rolleyes.gif .

On Saturday, we went to our local Bubs store to check out the Baby Jogger City Select, so I got to have a play and it looks good and DH is happy with it. They had 2 strollers in stock but not in the colour I want (the colour they had has a pale-coloured hood, and I can just see mine ending up filthy), and they had no second seat kits or bassinets. The woman told me as everything is ordered centrally, that she wouldn't know what was coming in or when, and it would be best for us to go to the expo and see what they had there. Sunday was the last day for the Brisbane Pregnancy, Babies and Children's Expo, and I hadn't been planning on going, but decided if that was my best bet for getting the stroller ordered, I would. So Sunday morning we caught the train in, walked to my work and dropped off my work bag and uniform, then caught the train to the expo. I now have a stroller, second seat and bassinet on order and all paid for (got 10% off) - just have to wait for them to come into stock and be delivered to my local store. The woman at the expo said they are expecting a shipment in July, but I don't think there will be any second seats in that as I have read there is a big shortage, but hopefully we will get it all before this bub arrives. She wrote a note to say I am due in November on the order form, which probably means I will be down the list of priorities - wish I'd said October now to be more sure of getting it all in time! Hopefully it will be fine though. We also got an organic heart-to-heart infant insert for our Ergo carrier. Then we went back into the city by bus, had lunch, then walked up to work. I was so exhausted by the finish of my shift.

Sary, how awkward running into your 'friend' at the coffee shop - I would have hot-footed it outta there as well. I don't think you are being oversensitive - I think it is rude and self-centred of her to be carrying on about how great the school is when you had already told her you were disappointed you'd missed out because you were out of the zone for the school. I don't think she has forgotten. It just seems like she is rubbing it in sad.gif.

Lauren, was the ABC no good? I did look at them online a couple of months ago, but couldn't find many reviews. Good luck with finding the Valco you want for a good price!

Holly, I found the same thing before Coen was born - it is really hard to find unisex clothes now. I haven't even looked yet, but think I will just pick up a couple of new outfits and then wait until after the birth. I have heaps of unisex stuff from Coen anyway that I had bought in the years I had spent ttc, but it would be nice to have a couple of new outfits. Coen refused a day sleep on Friday too, and ended up falling asleep around 5pm, just before we were meeting the ILs for dinner. He woke up partway through dinner, and cried and cried because he was really overtired. He eventually settled down, but refused to eat anything except for a Kinder Surprise chocolate the the ILs had given him rolleyes.gif .

Ginny, how is Milly going now with sleeping at night? Hope she is having longer stretches for you. Looking forward to seeing new photos from your renos - and yay on being finished for inside!

Hope everyone has a great week!

It's great in theory but the metal they use for the frame, especially the wheels and axles isn't strong enough to carry 4 kids, I have never loaded it to it's capacity but have had 2 sets of wheels retired and the whole frame because of buckling. DH welded great big triangles of metal either side of the wheels so they no longer buckle but it's so heavy that I can't be bothered getting it out of the car so I bought a $5 Emmalunga from a fete! Don't like that much either but it fits in the car without being collapsed so that's good.
tortagianduia
Lauren, that is bad about the ABC. I had been thinking it might be a viable alternative to the Mountain Buggy now that they are no longer made in NZ. Not cheap either. Hope your next pram turns out to be 'the one' for you. Must be so frustrating not being able to find something that does what it should.

I had a really good shift at work last night. I was supernumerary in charge because the other Level 2 who normally does it is off on leave for most of the week. And it was a little quieter than usual for a Tuesday, so quite pleasant. I talked to my manager yesterday, and said I am finding work quite tiring. She said she will talk to Greg next week and see if he will take a patient load on Tuesdays so that I can be in charge (might be a rude shock to his system - I don't think he has had a patient load since I went on mat leave when I was pg with Coen, when he took over my role). Unfortunately on Sundays there is no getting out of having a patient load because there aren't enough patients to justify the expense of having the in charge person as supernumerary, but then there are no theatre cases, so it isn't as frantic anyway. And I really need the Sunday penalty rates to boost my pay, otherwise I'd have to work 3 shifts a week, plus DH can look after Coen. Hopefully I can get through to 34 weeks.

Hope everyone is having a good week!
tortagianduia
Hi girls! I feel like I am talking to myself here, but hopefully some of you are reading even if you're not posting tongue.gif!

I am off to see my GP this afternoon. Hopefully I will get my hospital referral done - I am still not booked in because he wanted to wait until after the 18-20wk scan.

Had a shocking night with Coen last night. He woke around 10:30pm, and just kept waking every few hour or so overnight crying and crying - couldn't work out why. Then this morning he cried for about an hour before I could get him to settle. He ended up having a bf, and seems much happier now. He doesn't seem sick - maybe it is teeth. I am very very tired this morning yyawn.gif.

It is my grandmother's 90th birthday tomorrow! I hope I am half as healthy as she is when I get to her age. She is still living at home, driving, quite independent. My mum lives just around the corner, which is good, but she really is amazing. We are going out for lunch on Saturday to celebrate.

Hope everyone is going well!

justa quickie, running late for mg

Amanda HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY!!! i feel terrible for not remembering on the day sad.gif

bit stressed here, DS has weaned cold turkey (and broken my heart). apart from the emotional side of things, he does not take a bottle so is not getting any breastmilk or formula. he is only 9.5 months. i am so worried, no-one seems to be able to help.

will write more when home this afternoon. x
mygorgeousboy
Hi Amanda, I'm here. original.gif

I have had a couple of shocking night with H too. He has a yucky cold though and is all stuffed up and can't breath. The vaporiser is going all night but it hasn't seems to help too much. This morning he woke up crying at 2am of a sore throat and had a big drink and slept in our bed. He seems fine today though. Not eating much. I hope Coen is okay.

Have a great day on Saturday celebrating your grandmothers 90th birthday. She sounds like she is doing great. original.gif

I am 30 weeks today. I saw my OB on Monday and he is sending me for a scan in 5weeks to see how big the baby is. This will determine if i will have a c-section or try for a natural birth. I am happy either way as long as bub is okay. If baby is measuring big i think he would perfer to do a c-section. He is such an easy going OB. I really like him. (thank Claire) wink.gif
I am still very unorganised, and haven't started the baby's room or sorting through baby clothes yet. We do have all of the essentials though.

I have 5 weeks of work left now. Gosh i am feeling it. I have 4 kids today all in nappies. I have started to change them on a change mat on the floor because i just can't lift them anymore. A few of the kiddies are starting with new cares in the next few weeks so that should make it a bit easier.

Oh and H did his first poo on the toilet yesterday. I think it was a total fluke but soooo worth a choccy frog. he hasn't stopped talking about it and rang my mum to tell her. happy.gif
Today however he is refusing to go anywhere near the toilet. Oh well !! rolleyes.gif

ETA: So sorry to hear that T has weaned Claire. I am not much help but sending you bigs hugs. Have you posted in the breastfeeding section? I hope you find some answers soon. xox
babybump2
Hello girls! waves.gif

I am here too! Wow Amanda your Grandma 90 and still driving and living in her home. You have some nice genes there. Sorry to hear you had a rough night with Coen. Hope he isn't getting sick.

Love love love your scans - soooo sweet! Your little munchkin wub.gif

Oh Claire - sorry to hear that Tom has weaned. Bfing can be such an emotional thing. I hope some of your mg friends have some tips for you or else your maternal nurse. I have heard of this quite often with boys. I was kinda hoping Beau would do it as I was ready to stop before he was. One of my friends has 3 kids and 2 of hers self weaned at 9 months. She is now expecting it with number 3. Hope something works out. How is little Miss E? Is her lip all healed?

Oh Holly - 4 kids with nappies - and you're pregnant! Hats off to you! AND YAAAAAYYYYY FOR HUDSON DOING A POO ON THE TOILET! HIP HIP HOORAY! WELL DONE! cclap.gif

Beau has been weeing on the toilet but refuses to poo on the toilet. He has a truck sitting on the microwave waiting for when he finally does! And sorry to hear that Hudson is sick.

Well I am onto week 5 of sickness!!!! On Monday morning I packed up both the kids and husband and took them down to the doctors. Macy and Beau with conjunctivitis and Husband with sinusitis and head cold. AHHHHHHH! Then Monday afternoon while Beau was cuddling me he reached up and stroked my eye. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! cry1.gif Very sweet but not when you have conjunctivits.

And guess what?!

Woke up looking like I had been punched in the eye with conjunctivitis. I tell you Fiji is looking better and better!

Slightly on the mend now - even took the kids swimming this morning. Fingers crossed we are on the up!

Well off to listen to Julia's speech! Girl power! Just a shame we didn't get a say. But quite exciting that we have our first female PM. Not really sure which one is worse though... Kevin or Julia?!

tortagianduia
Claire, so sorry to hear Tom is refusing to feed. He definitely needs to be having either EBM or formula at his age. If he won't drink from a bottle, have you tried him with a cup? Coen was happy to drink from a MagMag cup with the straw top from about 8.5 months of age - might be worth trying? Is it teething maybe? At 10mo, Coen started biting almost as soon as he got on the breast, and I thought he would wean too, but we got through it. Hope you find some way of getting some milk in Tom. It sounds very stressful for you.

Holly, sorry to hear Hudson is sick and not sleeping well. 30 weeks today - you really are on the home run now! Very exciting! And well done to Hudson for doing a poo on the toilet!

Sary, sorry to hear the kids are still sick and DH too. And oh no about your eye! Have you got any medication for it? Hope it settles soon.

I had been thinking it might be a viable alternative to the Mountain Buggy now that they are no longer made in NZ.

Nope, I've heard a few bad stories about them, not before we bought it though and of course it was the only 4 seater around so it had that going for it. If I was to buy a Mountain Buggy I'd get an older 2nd hand one rather than a new one. You'd think they'd drop the price since it wont be costing them as much to make anymore.

Well had a fun (NOT) day yesterday. Tom had another febrile convulsion sad.gif His last one was only 3 weeks ago and we weren't expecting another one till next May (DH definitely wasn't, he didn't have his phone on him! GRRRR)
Anyway 6 hours in the ER and a referral to a ped tomorrow, hopefully something will come of it.
babybump2
Aw Lauren - sorry to hear that! Hope you and little Tom are okay x
tortagianduia
Lauren, so sorry to hear Tom had another febrile convulsion - very scary for you. I hope the paed will be able to work out what is going on. I didn't word my post very well - I'm not interested in buying the Chinese-made Mountain Buggy because I've read bad reports too - I think the price has dropped a bit, but so has the quality, so definitely not worth it. I was really disappointed when I heard that MB had been bought out and production moved to China. Of course I found that out after I got pg and when the new NZ-made ones were as rare as hen's teeth ddoh.gif. I agree a second hand NZ-made MB would be the way to go. I might even still consider it, though I don't think DH will be keen after we've just forked over so much for the BJCS. I thought the ABC might be a good alternative to the MB as they're still made in NZ, aren't they? But in the end I didn't go down that route as I just couldn't find many reviews. Sounds like you have had a very bad experience with it. You'd think the frame and wheels would be built a lot stronger considering you are supposed to be able to carry 2 on top of the double sad.gif.
~Simply*Blue~
Oh Lauren I hate those things, was he very sick? Talon used to suffer from those, scared the absolute crap out of me every time, he ended up on medication for them after suffering 3 in 12 hours.

Claire so sorry T weaned, that's what Cooper did too, although he'd take a bottle, just not if I was holding him. He'll only drink it if I put him down on the floor and let him give it to himself. Caden wouldn't take a bottle at all and ended up drinking it out of a sippy cup. I hope you can get it sorted.

So so sick today, thank goodness I didn't have to do much, and I only had Talon and Cooper. I also found out that I will be finished uni by the end of September, so that is great! That means I get 4 months off before the baby comes.

We are having 2nd thoughts about selling, there are just no houses out there to buy in our price range. If we only had another $50k we could buy a house we'd want to stay in forever. It's not much but just out of our reach sad.gif
mygorgeousboy
Morning girls,

Sunday already....Where did the weekend go??? sad.gif

Rebecca, Thats great that you will have a break from uni before bub arrives. What uni are you studying through? I'm actually enrolling in BA of Education (primary) next year through OUA. Its going to take 6yrs part time though. Its sounds so long away. huh.gif

Lauren, I hope Tom is okay. My nephew used to take febrile convulsions and it was just awful. What did the paed say?

Amanda, Hope you had a lovely time yesterday with your Grandmother.

Well its very frosty here today. Everything is white outside. Which normally menas its going to be an alright day outside so i am going to clean the house, put some washing on and take little H to the bike park. He loves his bike! wink.gif DH is at work again!!!!
Hopefully i might get an afternoon nap too if H participates. I have been having awful nights, tosssing and turning and needing to go to the toilet every hour. rolleyes.gif
Hope you are all having a great weekend.

QUOTE
Oh Lauren I hate those things, was he very sick?

no not really, just really quiet before hand, put himself to bed before the school run and fell asleep after whilst watching tv, I kinda knew it was gonna happen, didn't expect it to cause before they'd only been 1 a year and of course the last one was only 3 weeks ago but I'd mentioned to a friend and to DS2 that we had to watch him. I was a lot calmer and organised this time though DH who didn't have his phone on him (he's not allowed too but is going to anyway) was difficult to contact. Had to call a friend who called her DH who got someone over to his workshop.

Went to paed and we're going to try my suggestion which happened to be his suggestion too lol Panadol when I see the signs and hope that the temp spike never happens and then no fit, we'll see how that goes. I also don't need to take him to hospital unless the fit continues, we're getting Hydralyte icypoles and we'll treat him at home. He reckons we've got another 3 years of them then with any luck they'll go away, they're common between 6months and 6 years.
~Simply*Blue~
Holly I was going to finish in 8 years ohmy.gif but now I'm pregnent and going to take next year off! If I'm going crazy after 6 months I may return 2nd semester next year.

Lauren how scary to have to watch it on your own. Thankfully I never had to do that. The first one he ever had, my dh, sister and bil were there. Thank god because I totally freaked thinking he was dying, as he was turning blue. I hope that's the last for him, I was going to say for awhile, but I hope that is the last one ever. Has he ever had an MRI or EEG done? We got the EEG and was going to get the MRI but he stopped having them.

My MIL watched cooper for me last Tuesday, while I learnt about the interactive whiteboards. She went through my house, into my bedroom for which the door was closed, the house stunk like smoke and so did Cooper AND she flicked her butt onto our grass out back?? WTF?? She also dropped (I think) my brand new text book that I had got THAT DAY and now it's all ripped and creased aannoyed.gif It cost me $120!! AND she didn't even say a word about it, I discovered it after she left!!

She's watching him again today glare.gif

She kept going on that I never let her watch them (I wouldn't because I didn't trust her) So I gave her a go, it was her chance to prove me wrong and she totally blew it. I don't have another option for the next 3 weeks either as my parents are going to Darwin and I pulled him out of daycare.

The way she's going though, she will never look after my kids ever again.
mygorgeousboy
Morning Girls,

Just a quick one for me. I just posted a belly shot on the blog. original.gif

BTW girls we need some updated pics of our beautiful kiddies over there. I would love to see them.

BBL for a better post. wink.gif
tortagianduia
Rebecca, sorry to hear you are feeling sick sad.gif. Great news about getting 4 months off before bub is due tthumbs.gif! That is a shame you can't afford to buy a bigger house - we are in the same position. Have you worked out how to accommodate the new bub? I am sure everything will work out. And argh about your MIL ohmy.gif . That is disgusting that she was smoking and flicked the butt on the grass nno.gif. And I am so sorry to hear about the text book. You'd think she would have mentioned it and at least apologised?! You must be counting down until your parents get back.

Holly, you poor thing having such bad nights sad.gif. Sleep deprivation is awful, especially when you have little people to care for during the day. Not too much longer until mat leave starts for you. Hopefully it will be easier when you have just H to care for, and if you can convince him to go down for a day sleep, hopefully you can get one yourself too.

Lauren, hope everything goes fine with managing the febrile convulsions at home. The Panadol to try and ward it off sounds like a good plan.

The lunch for my grandmother's 90th on Saturday went well. We then all went back to my brother's place for cake and coffee. I'd made cupcakes at Mum's request and finally got to use my Cupcake Courier which was much admired! Saturday night we went over to a friend's place for dinner. I'd woken up feeling sick.gif on Saturday, but it had settled mid-morning so I was fine by lunch, but yesterday I woke feeling sick.gif again, and had several vomits over the course of the morning. I ended up calling in sick to work and going back to bed for a few hours. I then woke up with a splitting headache - probably dehydration - Panadol didn't help at all. It wasn't until early evening that I started to feel better, so I am glad I didn't go in to work. Today I feel okay though. I wish this ms would disappear.

School holidays have started here and I am grateful to get a bit of a sleep in for the next couple of weeks! Hope everyone has a great week!

Has he ever had an MRI or EEG done?

nope, I asked about an EEG but they'd only do it if he was outside the 6mth-6yo group or if the fits were unusual in anyway.

After creating cupcakes that tasted good but had the texture of rubber! lol I gotta ask, who on here had the red velvet cake recipe?
I followed a recipe but it was terrible, trying to work out where I got it wrong.
mygorgeousboy
Lauren, I'm sure it was Megan that had that recipe. I remember seeing some yummy pictures on her blog.

Not much to report from me. Busy week with work. Hanging out for the weekend. DH has Saturday and Sunday off so looking forward to some family time original.gif

Post 77 - dare say this might be the last for this thread!?

Hey lovely ladies!

How is everyone's week going?

Loved your belly snap Holly! You look great! Wonderful that your DH has the weekend off too. I had a bit of a google after reading your post about uni. I started doing uni on line when Macy was just a baby and was hoping to do a dip ed to become a primary teacher too! I only ended up doing 2 units though. I was going to have to do a degree of something - then a dip ed addition as they didn't offer it online back then. I found that I was working so hard - every night and locking myself away on weekends - and although I got good marks - I deferred. I have never done any more. I would LOVE LOVE to be a teacher but don't have the energy or drive for the years/study/effort at the moment. (And not sure if I will find it!!! blush.gif) So really impressed with you and Rebecca who find the time/effort.

However since DH has started his business it has given me the ability to sit tight and just enjoy the kids and my time with them and know that I have something to step into once the kids are at school.

Not much to report except - BRRRRRRR!!! FREEZING HERE TODAY! Lowest day for a year. So it was a good day to pack Macy and Beau up and head to the movies. We went and saw Shrek Forever After. The kids were both wonderful and it was a great day.

We are heading away for a night at the weekend with 2 other families. Staying in Torquay at a Livesaving Club. Apparently only one heater though - brrrrrrr! But should be fun!

Hope everyone's week is going along nicely.

xxx

mygorgeousboy
Thread still open!!! Maybe this will be the last post???

Sary, i am doing it online too. I will get some credit from my childcare diploma but its still going to to take a few years. I haven't even started yet and am finding it a little scary. I just hope i can organise myself and find some time to study, do assignments etc. I guess i am lucky that DH is home during the day(he gets 6 full days off a fornight) and we have a office that is seperate from the rest of the house so i'm hoping it can be my escape when i need to do some work.
I will have Hudson and the baby at home with me. Hudson will go to preschool when he is 3 for a day or two. But i have always wanted to do teaching (but was too lazy to do it when i left school) so its now or never..... huh.gif
Thats great that you get to be at home with your kiddies though and have some work with your DH when they a older.

And yep FREEZING here today too. Got to -6 last night. I think it is only 9 degree right now. Inside day for us. I'm afraid we have a few months left of this weather though. Bring on summer. original.gif
babybump2
or maybe this will be the last post - hee hee! biggrin.gif

Just got my $1000 dollar bill for the units I did! ohmy.gif How funny I just wrote about that and today the outstanding bill came in the post! ohmy.gif

You will have to let me know what you think of the course Holly.

We are having an afternoon of making cup cakes. We went out and about this morning. Off to visit a lady we used to live next door to when Macy was just a baby. She doesn't have a lot in her life so we like to pop in every now and again. Macy even calls her Grandma - even though we ALWAYS refer to her by her real name. And now Beau is calling her Grandma too!

Then I headed to mg friends place and we went to the park to meet up with some others from mg. Was very cold but nice to be rugged up and out and about! After nearly 5 weeks mainly home!

Hi everyone

Reading about these poor little ones having fits makes me very sad - it must be terrifying. There is a member on here who has a wee boy who has several fits a day - she has made movies of them as a kind of medical diary I think and its just heartwrenching to watch - he so beautiful, all our babies are beautiful, and I often wonder why 'life' or fate or whatever determines our most precious and vunerable have to go through awful ordeals like this sad.gif Not fair.

Anyhoo, yes I have a successful recipe for red velvet cake here. Not sure how it would go as cupcakes, but I recall it looked like it should be dry, but it was actually really moist. its like amild choccy cake, interestingtexture and flavour, and really quite nice.

We are still battling colds etc - I have sinus back again - this is the third time and to be honest I am sick of it. I have a girls weekend away this weekend and after that I am going to see the doctors. There must be some infection going on somewhere I just can't shake.

But very excited about going to Leura - although it will be FREEZING - its bloody cold in Sydney at the moment, and we'll be taking at least 10 degrees away from that. THere have been dramas. The difficult friend' I have mentioned before was insisting on bringing her 8mo baby, which of course defeats the entire purpose of having a girls only weekend away... not to mention all the follow on - that someone would have to share a room with friend+baby, that the entire dynamic of the weekend would change despite us maintaining it wouldn't affect what and where we do things. There is another big reason why it woudn't be appropriate, which I won't go ito but suffice to say one of our closests friends suffered a signifcant loss and to be around a small child in such closed quarters when she really needs a bit of girly time would be extremely difficult. This friend (wanting to bring bub) is not known for her tact, so this would be and has been lost on her. Not to say we don't appreciate the reasons why (feeding issues) but the rest of us agree in her shoes, we would stay at home, not bring her with us - what gets me is doing thissolves the problem for her, but makes a problem for the other 5 people. Anyway, we sent her a note (not nasty at all) earlier this week to head this off at the pass, with some compromise suggestions and the sh*t hit the fan, but it would appear as of this morning things are kind of settling and we've found a happy medium which means she can still come and then go home if she needs to at short notice.

BIG SIGH

Our preggie ladies are also going well, which is also wonderful news. Holly - you look fabulous - I am sooo clucky right now its just lovely to see big baby bellies wub.gif

hey all
i wish my crappy run would end.......
for those who have access to my facebook page, they know i have been in hospital this week with mr tickle. he had a cold on sunday, dropped him off to daycare on monday and got a call on my way home to say i should hurry because he was starting to have difficulty breathing. when i got there i was so frightened, didnt even drive him to the kids hospital but just to the local and was seen straight away. he was put on ventolin and oxygen and we had to stay monday, tuesday and yesterday were discharged. the paed said it looks like asthma and bronchiolitis, with an rsv virus? poor baby is so much happier now thank god. but the staff were so great, emergency department excellent, i have had my doubts about this hospital and vowed never to go there for the kids but feel confident that i would go back again. we just have to continue the asthma treatment for now until he is better.
unfortunately this throws a spanner in the works as next week was going to be my final attempt at karitane sad.gif guess ill jsut go on being a zombie for the rest of my life

hope that wasnt too depressing. just needed to let it out. i have had such a sh*t run (and an awful day on monday at work to top it off) im just over it and need a holiday!

bbl for a more positive post

Brooke I did see that on fb, so good to hear he's getting better, and hopefully you can still go to karitane next week. Thanks for the flip charts too. I showed DS1 & 2 the links to funschool, they absolutely love them.

Hi Girls,

Brooke, Gosh i hope little Cameron gets better soon. Must of been so scary for you to see him like that. And i hope he is better in time for your Karitane visit. I remember what it was like with H while we were waiting to visit Tresillian. Fingers crossed you get some sleep soon. wink.gif

Megan, Have a great weekened away with your friends. i hope "the" friend realised in the end that it wasn't all about her. If i was her i think i would just stay at home. And rug up. I'm sure it will be freezing out near the mountains. Let me tell you its bloody cold in Goulburn.

Sary, How did the visit with your friend go. I hope it was okay.

Not alot happening here. I just sorted through all of the babies clothes. They are soooo tiny. Made me a little teary remebering when H was wearing those clothes. Big sook i know!
H had swimming lessons today. He is going really well and just loves it. No fear at all and happily jumps belly first off the side of the pool and likes to go under. His instructor is lovely too original.gif . He has also just started to call a truck a F*ck. ohmy.gif In the car today he yelled out "Look at the big fire f*ck Mum" ohmy.gif ohmy.gif ...DH and i did have a little laugh about it but now its getting embarressing. I have tried saying "T T T Truck" and he can say the T sound but i think just forgets whens saying the word. And it doesn't help that he is obsessed with trucks and diggers atm. Hoping it ends soon!
Looking forward to the weekend with DH. House needs a good clean though rolleyes.gif . Hope you all have a fab weekend and stay warm in this freezing weather. original.gif
