We've been borrowing a "first words" library book which DD (almost 16 months) loves. Called "first words" and published by Brimax. It has lots of simple pictures with the word printed nearby. She points and we say the word. We've reborrowed a lot of times and I think it's time to buy one for DD so other kids can enjoy the library copy wwhistle.gif

I've tried to buy this particular one online, but it's coming up as out of stock at the places I've tried (book depository, angus and robertson, huggies book club).

So I'm planning to get something similar, but easily available. Any recommendations from what your LOs like?

At 16 months I would probably be moving onto story books. Your daughter can still point at the pictures but it is moving towards increasing her vocabulary. My daughter loves books by Lynley Dodd (the Hairy Mcclary series), Pamela Allen (who sank the boat), Mem Fox (Time for bed, where is the green sheep).

You can buy First Words board books everywhere. Big W has quite a range, also those stalls in shopping centres do too.

I bought a 6 book various titles one from Australia Post too.

we read other books too original.gif

will check out big W

if there are more specific recommendations I'm keen to hear them

ETA what we like about the book we have from the library is that there are multiple pictures per page, and this means that she can pick out the objects/words she is most interested in
