Just finished
Winter in Madrid by CJ Samson, about a group of people in 1941 in Madrid. I really enjoyed it.
I'm currently re-reading
Second Violin by John Lawton, a murder mystery set in Vienna, Paris and the UK in 1938.

I've just started "One Day" by David Nicholls. I gave up reading Wuthering Heights, I found the writing style way too annoying and that was only the first two chapters.

I've just finished "Sarah's Key" - I found it really moving. Now onto "The Jewel of St Petersburg". I don't know anything about it but it mentions the Romanovs in the blurb and I am obsessed with them!

I really enjoyed One Day, especially since the protagonists are around the same age as me (but older). It was quite funny how much I recognised aspects of mine and my friends lives in the plot

Dog Boy Eva Hornung. This months bookclub book, first chapter but seems a little disturbing so far.

Angelica by Arthur Phillips - its kind of a retelling of Henry James' Turn of the Screw written from 4 different perspectives. Its good so far. Creepy in an old fashioned kind of way.
Waiting desperately for the new George R R Martin which is supposedly due any day now....

Heeeeathcliiiiifffff! How are you coping with 1984? I felt like I was watching a horror film when I read it. Somehow made me really really uncomfortable and I had to force myself to read the last couple of chapters.

How is the new Stephanie Plum?
I just read "The Midwives Confession" by Diane Chamberlain and ended up skipping massive chunks - I just wanted to know what happened, and got bored with all the filler. A little predictable, too. It got great reviews though, so maybe it was just me.
I'm starting Cold Comfort Farm next.
