GOLD!!!!!wow theres a first lol, it was locked when I tried to reply

Blondie, take it easy for the day, is there anyone who could give you a hand with Claudia today, look after her maybe while you rest? Mothers group is a bugger, can you just take a little time out for a while, I'm sure they'd understand. Give yourself some space?
I forget what else I was typing...
stayed up too late dyeing last night, oops! but a lot of it was prep and clearing out old dyes I'd rather start afresh

when I finished putting everything away it was 12.30am and silly me hopped on the computer. Good thing today is the last day of school term! And daylight savings ends on sunday I think.

blondie although i haven't been in your position, i am sure that it is completely normal what you are feeling. We have some stuff going on in the family at the moment that i havent mentioned on here, and i keep thikning how unfair it is and why couldnt it be someone else? which is absolutely awful to think but you can't help thoughts.
Take care of yourself, and as sharon said you have the easter break now and yeah just say C is sick next week. Or the other thing you could do is email/text one of them and let them know if you wanted to. Or not. completely up to you.
could the IL's have claudia for the day or even tomorrow so you and DH can rest?
sharon so is DH home tonight? enjoy
mothers group is at our park again this week, so we'll be heading up once Oliver wakes. He was a bit unsettled last night. not crying but making noises about 5 times. could hear him on monitor so it woke me each time. feel tired today.

Unfortunately both our parents are away at the moment so not here to help. We are still meant to be going camping with BIL and his GF tomorrow, we haven't made a final decision on whether we'll go, but I think we will, because if we sit around all weekend we'll all be miserable and we're hoping being away will take our mind off things a bit. I did let one of my friends (the latest one who announced her pregnancy) know yesterday what happened and she was great, even offered to leave work and come and look after Claudia if we needed her to.
I'm waiting to hear back from uni about my extensions... such a bugger about it being the easter weekend. One of the assignments is due Tuesday so I want to make sure I sort it out today.

Blondie - I think you have very right to feel the way you are today and no disrepect to others who have difficulty concieving but right at this minute in time it does not feel like anyone is worse off than you. Time will help take the sting out of it - I am yet to see if it heals but it is a little easier. If you can go away with your BIL it might help as there are then 4 people to look after Claudia and it might give you some time. It may also be good for DH as well to have someone to confide with as I am sure he is hurting just as much as yours I know mine did. But you decide what is best for you. Do you have a follow up with the OB to do a thorough check?
Ali - Hope things sort themselves out with the family Boy they can be difficult at times!
Elliesmum- Bet you don't even feel too tired after a late night as you are doing something you enjoy

Sharon - How exciting DH home for easter I bet you and the girls are going to burst with excitement

Cassi- How is eveything going with the house? Sorry you have probably posted but I have not had time to catch up on everything.
opps look at the time better get ready for school

Blondie - Pity you couldnt get much sleep last night.

I hope C has a long sleep for you both today. I think it's good to go on the trip as well, though may be good to tell BIL what has happened so you/they understand when you are upset. just make sure you have access to showers!
Uni - just call the lecturer directly. they are very understanding. you may need a medical certificate but wont have to hand one in for a while.
What you are feeling is very normal. Of course you dont wish it on anyone else, but why should it happen to you?!
Thinking of you today.
I have to get some work done on my essay, especially as I have to start again! and yesterday realised that I was going on a bit of a tangent with some of the articles I was looking at, so have wasted more time. plus have to use extra slow laptop. annoying. and such a lovely day today... I dont really want to sit inside.
I'll BBL as I'm such a good procrastinator....!

Key - we are doing ok, busy cleaning and packing things, hoping to get lots done over the weekend, and hoping we hear back from the other people that were interested in buying it. I think We will give them until next weekend and then start getting agents in to have a look around and get that side of it organised.

key unfortunately its a medical issue

- wish i could just blame it on annoying family members.
How are you feeling anyway? More energy?
meljas good luck with nonprocrastination! lol. i am the same.
speaking of procrastination, what do you think about this:
5 years ago I started a "how to write a novel" course via online uni thingo. anyway, did some assignments, then had kids etc and to be honest havent looked at it in a very long time.
got a letter yesterday saying that the 5yrs is up but for $50 they will extend it for another 2 yrs. (originally ipaid $900!

)
Money is so tight but DH says if i will work on it and actually do it then we will find the money. i just don't know if i actually will get around to working on it. does taht make sense? espec with another baby almost here. I do enjoy it though. hmmmmmmmmmm. thoughts?? it woudl be kind of good to have anoher outlet. I only have my scrapbooking really. But hten on the other hand the logical side says that its hard to do stuff with a newborn.

Bel Rowley
01/04/2010, 10:05 AM
Ali I would say go for it! For $50 I think it's worth a shot, especially when you invested so much initially.
Mel - we will have access to showers, otherwise I would be saying no way jose! I think I will tell BIL even though DH would probably rather keep it private, I am more of a sharer and prefer people to understand what I am going through rather than bottle it up. They'll also need to know something because I will not be swimming and will have to take it easy with the bike riding. I do have a medical certificate, my OB put that I am unfit to work for 2 weeks so there should be no probs getting a 5 day extension.
Cassi - sorry I have been ignoring you and your house stuff. I am also interested to know if the neat freaks had a look and what they thought?

Blondie showers are my bare minimum as well, none of this 'into the wild' for me. Perhaps a weekend away isn't such a bad idea, assuming the other couple are not totally irritating to you IYKWIM... like someone else said, plenty of babysitters so you can have a minute to yourself here and there, and maybe being out of your normal environment will help clear your head a bit. I can understand that mother's group would be tough for a while, just go back to it when you are ready and not before.
Ali another one who'd vote to continue with the course though I can see time being an issue. I've done an online film screen writing course and enjoyed it though it didn't inspire me to write a film... yet. Also around $900 - whew, these days I'd just buy the book!
Meljas what are you studying again? I think Blondie is doing PR, but can't recall what you and Key are doing?
Well I am kind of chuffed, I got a work offer from an ex-colleague who has set up his own consultancy and needs a writer. Thing is, he wasn't particularly nice to work for, so the answer will probably be no, but good to be asked. It's hard work to 'ramp up' to a new client and sometimes it just doesn't work out, plus they all take time and energy. I'll stick to my two old faithfuls for now.
It is so bizarre studying health admin (TAFE) when I know that most jobs in Qld Health (apart from high level medical staff) don't pay as well as what I get now. Oh well, in it for love not money, I just find health incredibly interesting and wouldn't discount further study into an actual medical field if I can get into Qld Health and get 'subsidised' to study. Or even health promotion, that really interests me (says me, obese, dreaming of drinking, smoking and living on Maccas...).
Just been to the shops, utter madness, Ivy got a little tray of marshmallow eggs ($4) and the Best of Wiggles DVD ($20... I'm sure it was $15 a few days ago...). I got my Darrell Lea Rockly Road Easter egg, DH got... well nothing, I just didn't know what to get him - he's allergic to choc. Might grab him some kind of grog?

Dh and I dont get each other anything for Easter. Its for the kids and the girls will get enough to share.
I expect DH home at around 4.30/5pm!

He is flying in with another colleague so his wife will pick them both up and drop DH off. I am kind of glad about this. It would have been nice to do the airport greeting thing but was not looking forward to driving down in the Eater traffic with the girls.
Holli is in bed and not asleep...HYPO from too many cupcakes, easter eggs!
Blondie - good to get away, as long as camping wont be too exhausting for you though. You really need to rest your body. When do you see the OB again?
Ali - I say give it a shot also. 2 years is doable!
Be back soon.

I just CHANGED MY ESSAY TOPIC! with a week to go... this is because I can use bits out of an old essay

who said anything about learining something new?
BG - I am doing a masters in health services management. thought it was a good idea when I was nursing/ away overseas, now it's just a PITA that will get me very little in my current role as a regualtory affairs consultant. anyway.
Ali - I say go for the extension. you can get something down in 2 years, just depends how much there is to do. I mean, I took almost 2 years off for this degree when I had Alexander. but now I'm back into it. sort of...
Ellangel - you must be so excited! only a few hours to go!
Blondie - 5 days is good. I'd ask for more

Just fished a toad out of the pool, swimming around. 3 weeks ago, I wouldve reluctantly done it, but with lots of EEEKS and SCREAMS!! LOL Today I just reefed it out with the stick thing and said "get out you b*st*rd!"
Sarina - Is this Velvets 1st day at CC? I must of missed that she was starting!! OMG! Just one day? I would cry my eyes out if Holli started just yet although to have 1 day a week to myself would be nice. Might help me find my 'patience'.

Mel - Hope the change in topic does not cause you too much stress! Sometimes working under pressure an provide great results though.
Ali - sorry to hear the health issue - my relations can just be thoughtless!
Blondie - glad to hear that you have the extensions. I think for me personally letting people know what is going on an make things easier for you. I tried to bottle up feelings until I found out the implanon was still in my arm them it all came out - I was a bit emotional as it could have been the problem both of the miscarriage and the bleeding in pregnancy. But everyone deals with things differently so I totally understand why DH is feeling how he is.
Cassi - At least you will have a lovely place to live whilst you are selling after all this effort. I hope you manage to sell easily. Have you got your eye on anything else at the moment?
We are going through a bit of a limbo at the moment. There is a large industrial area planned to be built within 1.5km from our house, the council had orginally tired to get it thru without the proper submission process were as a resident you can object and when we purchased the land it was zoned residential - the change in Zoning was also not communicated. It was overturned by the planning commission when the local MP got involved and the submission period was extended to yesterday. I have done my best to get as many people as possible to object but if it goes through we will be moving which upsets me as I like it here!
Littlem - How is Max?
Oh my goodness my best friend from Ireland is 3 days overdue have you seen the News? Blizzard conditions I hope she does not go into labour today she won't be able to get to the hospital!
Ok better ok this is not helping the study
beaglebaby
01/04/2010, 02:52 PM
Key, lots of leg crossing vibes for your friend! Where in Ireland is she? Maybe my uncle is her Ob! What a nuisance about the rezoning, we have a similar problem here, Peter Garrett has just approved a whole heap of development at Jandakot airport - supposedly with some conditions, but they've flouted those several times already. We won't be moving though, luckily the development won't be right on our back fence - unlike some others nearby.
Ellangel, your excitement is infectious

Is your DH being recruited to come and work in WA? They say it will be up to 2 years before the cars that can be repaired will be, lots are being written off, or are being paid out but allowed on the road as the damage is "only" superficial. If he comes over here you and the girls should come for a holiday.
Sarina, hope you get lots done today, kid free time, what is that?? I shouldn't say that, Mum will be back again next week.
MJ, good luck with that essay. I'm sure there are ways your course will help in your current career, it certainly will if you ever decide to make a change, will look good on the CV.
Bellygood, you know he may not be so difficult to work for when he needs you - you'll have the power!!!! Wish my DH was allergic to chocolate, he's stolen my last little stash of Rum'n'raisin this morning - even though he tells me chocolate tastes like nothing at the moment
Blondie, hugs, you are allowed to feel that way, and you are not wishing anything bad on anyone else, it's totally understandable to envy those who are having an easier time than you, it really is unfair. It sounds like the friend from MG you spoke to yesterday is wonderful, let her know how you are feeling about catching up with them and if you think it would help if they did/didn't say anything etc. I am shocking for falling apart when someone is sympathetic, so found it much easier if people knew (so they didn't put their foot in it) but knew not to ask how I was. Like Sarina, I just wish I could come and give you a hand.
Cassi, you're going to be such a decluttering expert after this, you can come and do my place! I don't want to sell, just remove half the "stuff"! Maybe I should get Ellangel in to put it all on Ebay!
cassi8
01/04/2010, 03:30 PM

beagle! I just don't want to be moving stuff we don't really want or need! There isn't much that is worthy of Ebay although I am going to keep it in mind! I've already offered Sharon airfare and accom but she didn't take it up!

Key - it would be awesome if it wasn't for all the boxes stacked everywhere! I am loving the perfectly clean kitchen!

going to work on the rest of the place over the weekend seeing as though I have 4 days with DHs help! I hope you hear from your friend soon!

Bummer on these councils changing things around! I wouldn't be a happy camper either!
Blondie - I hope you have a relaxing weekend, if you have decided to go. It might be nice to be able to get away from it all for a bit.

Don't worry about not replying to me, you have had more than enough on your plate to worry about!
Meljas -

are you nuts!? I hope you get it all done

Ali - $50 isn't a lot considering how much you have already paid for it. I say do it and try and spend your evenings working a little every few nights on a little.

BG - N is getting the best of the Wiggles as well, both oue tots will be bouncing around the house Sunday morn!

Could he have changed any? It would be on different terms so he may be easier to work for.. You can always ditch it after a few months if its not working for you!

Hope your reunion has been great Sharon

Yep, so much damage they are just writing off lots of the cars, and there are many bargains to be had in the caryards as many here aren't insured for hail.
I've just had one of those evenings that has definitely had the tears welling - and escaping.
I forgot to mention earlier that Lucas had his Chicken Pox and Flu shots this morning. He was fine at lunch time, still fine when we went and did school pick up, didn't want to eat much when we were at the birthday party (one of DD's friends 5th), then went quiet and got hot. He had a short seizure in the car on the way home (screamed and his arms flew out as though he was startled then shook) so I stopped at the emergency GP surgery but they had 5 people waiting, so we went to the pharmacy, bought panadol and gave it to him there before driving home.
His temp was still 39 when we got home but started to come down, then he suddenly had a huge seizure, maybe 4minutes long. Long enough for DH to search for the Health Direct phone number, speak to them and be put straight through to the ambulance. He still hadn't come round when they arrived with lights flashing, didn't even fight having oxygen put on or a heel prick done so Lucas and I had our first ride in an ambulance. Even coming into the ED that way it was still about 4 hours before he saw a Dr and by then he'd woken, cried a lot, had a piece of biscuit, some nurofen and BF to sleep, so the Dr woke him with all his tests and pretty much told us we could go, but not to let his temp go above 38 degrees for the next few years and to keep him on panadol every 6 hours for the next few days.
It seems the flu vax has caused a fair few fevers, and febrile convulsions even though convulsions aren't a listed side effect - we'll be reporting it! I'm shattered, but still too wired to go to bed. Apparently the older children were distraught about seeing Lucas that sick and us leaving in an ambulance, DH had to call a friend to come and play with them, she then came and picked us up from the hospital when we were sent home.
So I'm hoping for a quiet, uneventful easter, and wishing all of you one too.
melaniejasmin
02/04/2010, 07:40 AM
Beagle - Oh how scary for you all!

febrile convulsions can be awful. I think it's best to always give panadol before shots.
Hope Lucus is feeling better today.
febrile convulsions wont be put down as a side effect of the flu shot - they are an effect of having a temp, which is the result of having the shot, but the convulsion is not a direct side effect of the shot.
Hope everyone has a great good friday. I am off to have an easter bun (I made some the other day but with no cross).

anyone know how long gastro is contagious for? or how long food poisoning takes to show after eating something off?
thekids had gastro tues morning, last vomit at 7am and that was it. yesterday after lunch DH felt "off" and then during the night i felt like i was going to spew, and then had a bit of diarrhoea, and abit today. feel like i've had a huge night on the grog. so just wondering whether it could be gastro or whether it could be the chicken we ate wed night that i coudlnt finish cos i thought it was a bit icky?
I'm meant to be going to a scrapbooking workshop today but don't want to put anyone at risk if it is gastro.
beagle oh god that sounds awful! you poor thing. DD had a feb convulsion last xmas, was so scary. We had no idea what was going on, DH and I were both in tears. awful.

Ali - Not sure how long the gastro hangs but last November when we had it in the house, DH was struck down Monday, Kaidyn Friday, Me the following Monday and Niamh Thursday. So I guess it can hang for a while. Food poisioning is usually fairly quick within 12 to 24hours. Hope you are feeling well.
Ok back to the assignment

Please give him a hug and kiss from us. xx
ali - I think those vomiting bugs can come and go over a good week. Hope all is ok. xx
Wiggles DVD - we have also bought the 'best of' of Max as well, can't wait to watch him watch it.

Hope everyone has had a good 'Good Friday'...we had to take a trip to the Drs (only one open about half hour away) as I had a really bad infected eye, was so dam painful....have ointment for it now, still sore but no where near as bad. I'm actually feeling fluey so I hope I'm not coming down with a virus or something. (ok didn't say that just wanted to just said it's late come on enough for tonight time to go now) Had such a headache and stressed after that (and DH was worse then me) so got to sleep 1:30 am and was up to Velvet at 4am then DD1 and velvet were up at 6:30, so No sleep so tired.
Bloody families........over these divorces/seperations and it gets worse,
Have to go to SIL tonight for dinner and try to block out all that FIL told me 'la la la covering hears now' as it was wayyyy TMI
Happy easter all

Sarina - yum on the easter egg cheesecake, how did you make that one. Your seafood feast sounded really yum, drooling at the mouth here. Not good about the family dramas, sounds full-on.
ali - glad you guys are feeling better, maybe it was the dam chicken. Max does the same thing as Oliver when DH goes outside, he cries his little heart out and bangs on the door..DH can't even take the rubbish out without taking Max with him...its cute though.
ellies - have you sold any of the dye stuff yet, I'm sure you won't have probs selling some.
BG - a kid free outing, jealous. How was the movie?
Key - how nice for your friend, glad she made it through the blizzard - Aiden is a nice name too.
Well my eye is still infected and yes Sarina, feel like putting a paper bag over my head. It feels better in that its not stinging anymore but its still sore and bright red, swollen etc. I also feel like crap, my throat and ears are sore and my body is aching all over. I just had to drag myself and the kids out to do the food shopping as we had no food or drink, was such a chore and I felt like everyone was looking at my mongy eye.
Anyway home now, hopeing to have a rest when Max goes down if Kai will let me.
I can't wait to play Easter Bunny tonight

afternoon!
Busy busy..

I hope Lucas is ok now Beagle! what a fright you all must have gotten! I really hope I never have to go through that one!
Littlemumma- glad your eye is feeling a little better, even if it doesn't look any better.
Sarina - YUM! sounds delish! I hope you are able to avoid all the divorce talk tonight and have a nice time!
Sharon - I hope you guys are enjoying some family time together and some time out by yourself!

elliesmum - Nice work on the dyeing, I have been watching on FB and it all looks great!

I'm still waiting on some nice wool

Well the place is looking great, still not done but getting there. The kitchen is pretty good now, the buffet has been cleared of clutter and dusted, dining table clear expect for my laptop but that can be moved, toys are tidy as is N's room. I just have to work on the washing and getting our room done. We went to spotlight and picked up some new curtains, stupid things are a touch too long so I am going to have to hem them up

I guess I know what I am doing after N goes to bed tonight!
I don't know that I will be in tomorrow so Happy Easter to everyone and I hope you all have a great day with what ever it is you have planned!

Happy Easter ladies!
Sorry it has taken me so long to jump back on. Have not had a lot of computer time with FIL and co up for Easter and dropping in unannounced...DH very tired from working 12-14 hour days.
I couldve cried when I saw him again! Was really quite emotional. Both girls running down the driveway as he got out of the car, yelling 'Daddy Daddy'. Holli keeps hugging him and patting him on the back.
Had the most loveliest day out today with my parents and sister. Shared a bottle of wine and saw lots of family members. Was lovely. Have arrived home to an empty house...it just gets better!
Dh has taken the 2 girls up with BIL, FIL, stepmum and co to the Go Karts. Apparently lots of fun things for kids to do. Hope they watch Holli!!
hahahah...yes, been getting lots of mmmmmm lets call it 'massages'!!! LOL.
Gotta go dig out what Easter eggs we have for tomorrow and what presents we have for DD1's birthday on Monday!
Beagle - please come back in soon to let us know Lucas is ok now and has recovered from his ordeal. MY goodness, your heart mustve been in your stomach. How very scary. Poor little L!!

Happy Easter ladies and bubbies!
Sorry I havent been in but have been either busy or dealing with a toddler who seems sick but I dont know what it could be. Was up on & off last night and today she has just wanted cuddles. feels a little warm & has been pulling at her ears so have given her some dymadon and put her to bed. She is sleeping thank god cause I really need a break! haven got anything done today

but I do love the cuddles

beaglie - I hope lucas is ok now! That would have been so scarey!!!
ellangel - it is wonderful when they come home isnt it. I remember when hubby returned home after his time away....Tilly was so cute giving him big cuddles. Must be great to have him home!
cassi - well done on the decluttering! I have been getting there but I seem to move things from one room to another so even though one room sparkles another room becomes trashed....haha
Sarina - Easter egg cheesecake.....gosh that sounds divine! I have restarted on my health kick last Monday so wouldnt do too good for my thighs atm.....haha
Not sure what else I have missed but will keep reading back when I get time. a bit down on my latest results.....I was excited to get a high distinction for english but only managed 8/20 for one of my computer assessments as I read the question wrong

I did get it all right and I did understand what was to be analysed but stupid me analysed the wrong thing. I am so down about that right now. Will have to remember not to do study when tired or with a grizzly bub!
Take care all

Evening
Cassi- you have done well, give yourself a pat on the back. I hope you are treating yourself to some HCBs and an egg or two tomorrow, you deserve it.
Sharon - ohhhhhhh how lovely having DH home, sounds wonderful. Does he need to go back again?
tweedy - try not to be too disappointed with the computer mark as you did so well with the English and it was just a mistake at the end of the day, maybe you could ask to redo it, not sure how these things work though. Hope Tilly is ok, sounds like teeth. What is dymadon?
Well I really want to stay up and watch sleeping with the enemy but I feel so crook I'm not sure if I'll be able to stay up, I'm really down in the dumps...finally get a good break from work and it looks like I will spend the whole time not well
Happy Easter everyone, hope you all enjoy tomorrow with your families. xx

Dymadon is another form of pain relief like panadol etc. I find though with cold symptoms the dymadon seems that bit better. You get it from the chemist in a purple box. Its called infant dymadon iirc. I was told about it by a friend of mine who recommended it for colds & flus symptoms and thank god she did!
Yeah I am trying not to beat myself up about the comp mark since she did say that I do understand it extremely well, just abugger that I analysed the wrong part of the website thats all. I am still doing well though in computers overall....sitting on 40% overall with still a few more assessments to hand in so lots of marks still to make up. I might enquire about redoing that assessment though since it does look funny mixed in with all my high marks then that one....lol. Wont hurt to ask will it!
Take care all

Hi guys
Hopefully everyone is having a lovely easter weekend. Unfortunately mine is crap and spent 5 hours in emergency with bleeding and cramping. It appears I am having a m/c. Had light spotting and cramping yesterday afternoon, with bleeding and cramping early this morning. The u/s just showed an empty egg sac.

oh Triny

so very sorry to hear that {{{hugs}}}
Cassi- no wool yet, there were so many on Rav dyeing wool I've put it off for now

but I will as it can be part of my "shop" if you like just not all the same things.
FB is going really well, I'm glad I just did it and stopped thinking about it. am exhausted though, and have sold quite a bit I think. I'm not sure how much to be honest LOL. And have other people wanting me to dye them things as well

I need a break from dyeing tomorrow as I've been doing it day/night all week!

Oh Triny, I'm so sorry.

I really feel for you and Blondie at the moment.
Sorry everyone for not coming in to update sooner, Lucas has bounced back really well, a bit tired, but generally great. The rest of us might take a little longer although it really doesn't seem real now seeing him so happy.
Sarina, hope the rest of your easter is happy and not dragged down by family stuff - speaking of which, we have to see the inlaws tomorrow
Ellangel, you don't fool me with that talk of "massages"!
Elliesmum, glad to hear things are selling well, I hadn't realised you could have stores on Facebook - probably because DH and I agreed not to use facebook!
Tweedy, can't hurt to ask about the assessment, however in the scheme of things it might only be worth a tiny bit. Well done on the HD, and on getting 8/20 when you were analysing the wrong thing - you must have done it well!
Littlemumma, sounds like you're very run down, take some time out to recover in the next few days.
Our washing machine broke down today

But within hours I'd found a new one, then found it was damaged and had to take it back and change it - just scraped in before 5pm. Now I need to learn how to use it - anyone got a Bosch front loader?
Key, congratulations on being a sort of "aunty"

Hope you're taking a break from work and study over easter. Only a few more weeks of madness here then maybe we can all meet for lunch.
Hoping everyone gets a visit from the easter bunny, I'll be thinking of you all.
