Does anyone know where you can you buy the more raunchier style books? I am after more of a vampire sort of theme with a bit of erotic writing thrown in.

I am reading the Dark Series by Christine Feehan and loving these, just want some more of the same really. There are alot online but I was wondering whether I am not looking in the right bookshops for them, as most of them we have to buy from overseas.

have you tried Anita Blake or Sookie Stackhouse?

DH loves Anita blake (too violent for me) and we both love wub.gif wub.gif wub.gif Sookie!
Daisy Goat
Some one here recently introduced me to Mary Janice Davidson "Undead" series. Has moments of extreme raunchy. Light but entertaining reading with a bit of sizzle!

Black Dagger Brotherhood by JR Ward. The first one is called Dark Lover.

It is awesome!!!!

SexyCat
The Anita Blake books are the way to go - Laurell K Hamilton. They do devolve into porn around the 9th book, but have recovered by book 13. She also writes a fey based series, the Merry Gentry books, which are also quite good

Twilight was the starter, then went onto Sookie (fell in lust with Eric then Alcide wub.gif ) then moved onto the Dark Series - I read a short excerpt of Anita Blake Vamp Series are these in mainstream book shops?

I don't know what it is about these books that I find exciting and tantalising well I do they are just so bizarrily hot and steamy and just so naughty for my prudish values, and I thought that to like this stuff meant that you were a sexual deviant! laughing2.gif now I realise that normal people can have hot bedroom action, I know I know 4 children later I have only just realised this

JR Ward sounds like a goer, I am thinking that Laurell K Hamilton is a goer too.....I might start buying them online from Booktopia or similar because they are so much cheaper. I will have to have a top section of my bookshelf for my R rated books biggrin.gif
SexyCat
you might find the anita blake books in the teen section because bookshops are idiots and don't actually read their books
cathode
OP - Have you tried Richelle Mead?
Her vamp series is good, but not too raunchy ... however she has an excellent faery series (storm born, thorn queen) that is very raunchy - one Faery king is into S&M lol, and she also has a Succubus series ... lead has to sleep with men to 'feed'.
I find her an enjoyable author to read all up original.gif

Also, another funny/raunchy one is "Happy Hour of the Damned" - the 3 leads are 2 zombies and a vampire.

I get all my books from Bookdepository.co.uk works out cheaper and they deliver to my door original.gif

Try the Anne Bishop Dark Jewels series - its not porn but very sexy. Its also not vampire fiction but definately akin....
Daisy Goat
Molondy- I went looking for those books- is that the same books as the Black Jewels series?

I have to say a huge thankyou for all the various suggestions here. I have an eReader and have been able to download most of these books suggested for free! I am happily up to the No6 in the Anita Blake series and have all the Christine Feehan and the Dark Series to go.

My husband is thrilled at the money I am not spending! LOL
Katia09
You'll probably find L.K. Hamilton (both Anita Blake (Vampire) and Merry Gentry (fae)) in the Horror section - my local Borders has them.

Anne Bishop's Black Jewels series (Daughter of the Blood, Heir to the Shadows, Queen of the Darkness - and associated spin-offs!) is usually in the scifi/fantasy section there too.

I second Richelle Mead's succubus and shaman series.  You might also like Keri Arthur's Riley Jenson series - she's a half vampire half werewolf.  Those ones seem to alternate between the scifi/fantasy section and the romance section.

Ok so I am half way through Dark Lover and... ahem... its porn dressed up as literature!!! ph34r.gif (actually I lie... wide Awake is porn dressed up as literature.. but this one is up there too!) With characters named such things as Tohrment, Vishous and Rhage I am almost embarrased to say I am enjoying it. blush.gif
Molondy
Daisy Goat yep they are one and the same. I've just finished no. 8 so they will keep you going for a while (couple of weeks at least - they are very moreish!)

You will not be sorry you read this series, I am so addicted. Another book in the series is coming out soon

Has the Dark series only got two books??

I can also highly recommend the Masters of Time series... I love the primal love and lust in these books. This is a paranormal romance series...

The romance bookstore has heaps of great paranormal romance books so have a browse around...

Katie Macalister's Dark ones series is great, first book is a girls guide to vampires. I also LOVE Kresley cole's immortals after dark series featuring vampires, werewolves and other species. They are really well written and definatley spicey.
iKate
The J.R Ward books are fantastic!!! I wouldn't normally read this genre, but because of the vampire-ness, I can cope.....

Black Dagger Brotherhood are hot!!! Im now up to book 6, and need a coldddddd shower after them!
PurpleFizz

Sherrilyn Kenyon wink.gif wink.gif

Raunchy ++. My Boss (female) loaned them to me and when I didn't ask for more was so embarrassed that they were too XXX. There are about 20 books in the series and you fall in love with each main character. They are all entwined so you do get to know the characters.

good luck

PurpleFizz

Which Sherrilyn Kenyon series are you talking about??

The Sookie Books are fabulous. I am SO Team Eric! lol!

So are the Brotherhood of the Black Daggar series. I love these books.

I have the Sherrilyn Kenyon ones to read. I just need to find time!
PurpleFizz

Laney,

I've read the Dark Hunter series with some of the Dream Hunter (not as good) ones thrown in.

Daisy Goat
Purplefizz- I got the Bebook Neo
But this thread might help you ereader thread
StJerome
Many that I read have already been said (Anita Blake, Sookie Stackhouse) but there is also the Rachel Morgan series by Kim Harrison. Not strictly vampire but has a witch/vamp relationshiop. Not overly raunchy, but there is some raunch there.
Laney

Thanks purplefizz, that makes sense...

I have the dream hunter series and don't like it at all. I will try the dark hunter series next...

These were suggested to me and I am onto Book 4 now. I am really enjoying the characters and love the way JR Ward goes into each story.

I thought WOW with the 1st, then the 2nd, but am getting used to them now, I actually get a good giggle at times.

MY GOD they are all hot ph34r.gif
mummyummy
What order do the Black Dagger Brotherhood go in?

I love vampire books and these sound great.

TIA
Acerbic
The BDB series goes:

Dark Lover
Lover Eternal
Lover Awakened
Lover Revealed
Lover Unbound
Lover Enshrined
Lover Avenged

I found that the series went off the rails a bit by book 5 & 6 but came back with a vengeance by book 7. I have just finished the new one Lover Mine today and it was awesome. As strong a story as Lover Awakened (Zsadist's book) which was my fave.

Happy reading.
~NotAgain~
Madeline Kinhill has a compilation of short stories - Scream for me.

Nancy Kilpatrick has Child of the night. They are quite old, so check 2nd hand.

mummyummy
Thanks for that, i found them on book depository in a boxed set will be buying them original.gif
Deja Vu
I am up to Book 5 in the Black Dagger Brotherhood series and agree with 'Acerbic' that Zsadist's book is the best (so far) for me, although I have enjoyed them all really blush.gif

I need to find Book 8 and I will have them all original.gif

~Panda~
I am a huge Sookie Stackhouse fan. They are written by Charlaine Harris. The first three books have been adapted into True Blood.

The order of books are

Dead Until Dark
Living Dead in Dallas
Club Dead
Dead to the World
Dead as a Doornail
Definitely Dead
All together Dead
From Dead to Worse
Dead and Gone
Dead in the Family

I think you would love them. I do. I'm in love with Eric original.gif
janbabe
Im reading the True Blood books at the moment too. They are a little bit raunchy (definitely more "adult" than the Twilight series wink.gif )
I have a bit of a crush on Alcide....

I was really disappointed by the newest anita blake, it had seemed to be digging itself out of the porn hole it had for some reason fallen into and decided to wallow in, but nope newest book is 3/4 unnecessary sex scenes! barely a monster in the damn thing!!

i had to laugh though with hamiltons response that her critics would prefer to read "books that don't make you think that hard." since narcissus I really can't think of many books that make you think any less unless they are preschool junior readers ffs. Its a real shame as before the ardeur the characters and the books had been really fantastic =(
