I think you could do platters from woolies or coles or a local shop.... They do sandwiches and finger foods...
We did that for Ted's baptism.. I think they were around $35 a platter, but they were huge..
Could your local bakery do mini pies or something?

I'm still here. Had my tubes tied yesterday and a D&C done. Very ****ing sore. So much for being up and about and okay like I was promise.
Will pop in and update later, have got another crisis to deal with today - bloody Georgie has a very swollen ankle and no explaination as to why, so off for xrays. I am so not up for this today.

Been to the stockbroker and all is well. FINALLY. Should have gone there in the first place. Their waiting room had such great lighting all I could think of was that I'd love to take photos in there I told him that too hahaha

I have been umming and arring today quite a lot about posting in here, but I think now I will. I found out today that I am pregnant again. Very unexpected. I am due 15th November 2010, so I am ony a few weeks. So, so much for only having 2........ lol, bubby is going to be very welcomed and loved, Im just still in complete shock!! I get all of my blood results tomorrow, but the Dr says 3 positive HPT'S cant be wrong she just has to follow procedure and so now next step is to get me into the clinic as a high risk grrr!!

Can this please not be put on facebook yet?? We are keeping the announcement to my extended family until May.......

OK now back to bringing myself to terms with it all.....

can i ask (call me slow.. it's probably been said b4) but why the high risk??

My being high risk is because of many reasons, the main ones are - I have a bicornuate uterus that is completly divided (so baby only really has 1/2 a uterus to grow in), Aden was premature and had kidney problems (that are hereditary), and now also because Lucy's birthweight was very low for a term baby and she was classified as IUGR (Inter Uterine Growth Restricted). So basically I start at the antenatal clinic straight away so that they are able to monitor me and bubs more closely.

I haven't been in much - been busy getting back into the swing of working!!

Lisa - we will have between 28-36 people...I'm thinking of just buying a heap of pizzas, and doing savour pin wheels too and fairy bread and b'day cake!

Ryan uses Avent bottles with the fastest teat size '4'. It's way too slow for him and he is sucking and sucking I tried it last night and it is HARD to get anything out of there! I have a cheap bottle in the cupboard that has a larger hole but he doesn't want anything different I wonder if I can put some extra holes in the teat with a needle or something? I will ring them today. Gee he's a fussy kid. Tried the cheap bottle this morning but he didn't want a bar of it, and then refused his normal bottle as well He is getting another tooth so perhaps he's going through that stage again where he loses his appetite for milk.

WE'RE BACK!!!!

Hi everyone,

Well I haven't really been a regular poster in here but I have definitely lurked and somewhat kept up to date over the months. For those who don't remember me I had a little boy Ryder William on 22 March and I also have a little girl Eden who is about to turn 4.

I have just finished a 5 month trip caravanning around Australia with my hubby and kids. It was absolutely awesome, exhausting, amazing, and every emotion under the sun, but we have made it and we are all the better for it! We really do have a beautiful, diverse country out there.

So we were orginally from Brisbane, however my husband has spent a lot of years on the sunshine coast when he was younger and he is looking forward to re-locating there. He has just accepted a job in Caloundra, so it looks like I'm in for a sea change! We are in the process of organising accommodation and getting ourselves settled in.

I am also planning a pretty big combined birthday party for the kids. Because we have been away for five months I really wanted to spoil them when we got back, so we are having a Princess and Pirate party, we have about 25 adults and 20 kids coming so far. We are erecting a huge tent/tarp in mum and dad's back yard, we've also hired a jumping castle and I am madly buying princess and pirate decorations every week at the shops. I think I'm having more fun than the kids!

Happy birthday to all the bubbas turning one. It's amazing how fast it really does go.

So a little more about Ryder......he is cruising and climbing absolutely everything, but not looking like walking for a couple more weeks at least. He has 3 bottom teeth and 4 top ones (although two have only just cut so not fully down yet), he is such a huuuuuuggggee mummas boy. He is so much clingier then Eden ever was and I think that travelling and having me constantly by his side might have contributed to this. But he is so cuddly and affectionate with me I just adore it.

He is saying mum, dada, nan, uh oh (when something drops), brmm brmmm (when playing with cars), see ya (when waving goodbye), I think that is all at this stage.

He is having 4 bottles a day and pretty much eats whatever we are having. He still has 2 sleeps a day, although some days it's only one, so I think he is on the border of dropping to only one sleep.

And he is just the happiest little boy. People constantly commented on our travels how smiley and happy he is. I have so many gorgeous photos of him smiling and playing up to the camera!

Well I think that's about it, you should be all caught up on me now. I should be able to post much more regularly once we are settled in a house somewhere.

Heya Susan! I thought that was you down there. Welcome back! What a wondereful experience that must of been. I can't belive how quick that 5 months went Grea to hear everything is going well, Ryder sounds like a very clever boy. Great idea on the party front too Good luck with the moving.

Tess, ewww cleaning! Suppose it has to get done every now and then Ryan drinks water from a sippy or pop top but it's his milk feeds that I would love to get him onto the sippy. I just gave him some then with a Nuby sippy but he stuffs around sooo much with it, he drank maybe only a few mouthfuls, the rest went on his shirt/face/me It's easier just to give him a bottle. He rarely holds the milk to feed himself, he is so bloody spoilt If I ever have another one, I am going to be really strict with them Ah well.....he's still only a baby really...

He can point to his foot and his nose now when I ask him to It's really cute But not when he points to my nose, he almost rips it off

I took Xandy back to the Dr for a review yesterday and Dr is happy with how he's going. His lungs are getting better but he has to stay on the ventolin, said we might be able to drop a dose on Monday. He's still wheezing but not as much.

ok hubby is home for two days and im off to hire the cake tin for Xanders birthday, also need to pick up Ks cake cos her party is tomorrow and i need to get all the icing etc for the cakes!

How is everyone today?
I feel like utter crap, I have some bad swelling/bloating which makes everything hurt. Speaking of swelling we found out what happened to Georgies ankle, white tail spider bite! Poor little thing now has a purple foot, hopefully it won't get any worse than that. There is apparently not much you can do about them except for ice to big down the swelling. So annoyed with hubby about it as he said he heard her crying outside but just assumed she was fighting with her sister, so he didn't go check. Her sister after hearing her father and I 'discussing' how this happened piped up and said that she heard Georgie from her bedroom, crying outside - the ****ing d***head. Everytime things are left to him something big goes wrong, I swear that he couldn't find his a*se with both hands some days, and considering the size of it at the moment, grrrrr. Some days he is so simple and vague I wonder how he keeps his job?
Sorry to whinge, but if I whinge at him he gets all sad. Yeah I'm a bit over that too.

Better go I have to check in on ABG for Pen while she's away.

Jules: Have you tried loosening the lid just a touch!!! There may not be enough air flow and that is what is making it hard for him to suck!!!!

Savannah decided 3.30am was wake up time last night, and was awake for 1.5 hours - DH wasn't happy as he had to get up for work at 5am....and she was noisy!

We have just had a go at painting...Savannah's first time...she was more interested in eating than painting!

Awww Becca painting Soo cute! I've got crayons for Ryan, but yep - straight in the mouth!

Katy, yeah I do have the lid as loose as I can. I rang Avent and they gave me a few suggestions, including taking the valve off the Avent spout cups which I hadn't tried before! It comes out very easily (but it also makes it a spill cup) so I will keep trying that

Found crayons in my fridge a couple of days ago.
I guess the kids like them to be cold and crunchy before they eat them?

Funny thing happened today. I blogged about Georgie talking about Susan Boyle, and it seems that the Susan Boyle fans have picked it up and now its been sent off to Susan herself. I got a message from her publicist! Holy crap, what will I say if she contacts me? I am not even a fan And that one blog entry has had 130 hits today! And it was only a paragraph long! OMG!

Thanks for welcoming me back. I am going out wedding dress shopping with my best friend this morning. She has been waiting for ever and ever to get engaged, so I'm so excited it's all finally happening for her.

Candy - you should not have put that link in to your blog - I'm addicted now!! Your blogs are so entertaining to read. I wish I could write like that, I really want to write a book about our caravanning trip around Oz but I just don't have the skill or flair that you have in your writing!

Well my hubby has just secured a General Manager position at a Health Club in Caloundra. I'm so excited because hopefully it means we will both get a bit more serious about our health now and get ourselves fit and toned. We are not overweight by any means but could definitely live much fitter, healthier lifestyles. The Health Club has a huge childcare too, so that will make it much easier - no excuses now really!

You guys are all so talented making your own birthday cakes. My brother -in-law is a chef and is going to make Eden a princess castle cake and Ryder a pirates treasure chest. I just thought with all the other things I'm going to have to make and organise on the day I couldn't cope with the stress of trying to make cakes as well!

Is anyone elses bubs addicted to climbing? Ryder is driving me nuts getting on to beds, couches, chairs, he goes up mum and dads back stairs in two seconds flat now, he climbs up slides at the park.....he's insane! He will climb somewhere, get himself stuck, then squeal like a banshee until you come and rescue him.

Someone mentioned seeing some travel pics. I'll try and put some up each post, but I have a few folders on facebook from the trip (my facebook name is Susan Dossetto if you want to add me and have a look).

cake is made, and although it's not as flash as Carmens Panda cake, it will do the job of getting smashed up! The icing has the seal of approval as well - gave Ryan a lick of the beaters and he wanted more Wait until tomorrow, mister. Hope he loves it... took him out this morning to the same place I took photos of a little boy yesterday and when I plopped him down on the same spot, out came the tears So he's either gonna be one of those babies that cry during cake smashes, or he's gonna be so engrossed in the yummy cake. Hmmm!

Eliza loves cake! That is such a funny shot!

I haven't had that good a day today. Have not been recovering very well at all. Georgie ran into my tummy this morning and the wave of pain it caused made me vomit it was that bad. I was helpfully informed today that it apparently gets worse before it gets better.

BBL I hear tears.

I've had a good day today...DH and Dad were at clipsal 500 so Mum came around and we took the kids to the beach. We had some lunch, took a stroll down to Glenelg and got an ice-cream and Hunter and Savannah had so much fun in the water fountain thing (there are these holes on the ground that spurt water up). To start with Hunter didn't like it but he got into it..Savannah loved it right from the start but of course I got wet holding her up!

Then tonight I met DH in the city and we took the kids to skyshow...it was a long wait (we got there 6.30pm for 9.20 show) but it was awesome! Hunter didn't like the noise and was telling the fireworks off, but SAvannah thought it was great. She was looking, smiling and waving to the fireworks So cute!
