Okay so I am getting in early but I am a really organised person! DD will be turning 1 in August- so in winter when it is cold! We would like a first birthday party for her and, as our house is not big enough for all the guests, we are looking to go somewhere. At first we thought we would just go to an all-you-can-eat type of place but as there will be other young kids invited we would like to go somewhere where they can play as well. Obviously, due to the probable weather, we can't go to a park (as we did for DS2's bday party as he's born in Jan when it's warm).
I have heard that there are some venues around adelaide like restaurants that provide an indoor playground for kids but obviosuly,we want to go somewhere that does not cost a fortune but also provides good meals. We live in the northern suburbs. Does anyone know of anywhere that is reputable? Or is there somewhere else we could go and celebrate her first birthday?

Hi there is a pub on Philip Highway Elizabeth I can't remember the name of the pub but it has a kids playground inside in the dining room...I will find out the name of it when I drive past tonight..
Alternatives are places like Bubbles at Golden Grove...they have cafe meals and playgrounds indoors...suitable for all ages of children..

The Rose and Crown is the one in Elizabeth. It can be rough after dark though.

The Exeter at Semaphore has a great kids playground. It is undercover, but just outside. We always get a table just at the doors and the kids come and go (its all fenced off). My DS is an August baby and we had his 1st birthday dinner there!!

How far north are you? Main North East Road Hampstead Gardens has a play cafe which is quite good. (Near the corner of Muller Road)

No not Bubbles- we don't like it there. I should actually mention that there will only be about 10 kids aged 0 to 12 and then about 30 adults! So it has to be a big enough place to seat all of us adults.
I don't want to go to a playcafe.
ETA- We will be going on a Sunday for lunch

it's in the east but the Marriatville is a great pub for bigger groups with an enclosed outdoor eating area and playgroud.
