It's not a name I would use, but I don't hate it.
Actually reminds me of the original Scott Robinson on Neighbours, Darius Perkins.

Oh... so love Darius! Have just stopped myself falling off the chair by the sheer force of my beating heart when I spied Darius on the topic list.
I lost my virginity to a boy named Darius - it wasn't the best experience - so the name is tainted for me!!!

A great name, has a nice sound and is reasonably phonetic.

Darius = dorky for me but can't put my finger on why.
I like it...... but then again I have a love of Roman History and Latin so Darius is a good ancient name.

Ooh, I just remembered a hero in a novel I read once had this name - and his nickname was Dare, which I think is fabulous. So another tick in its favour.

I like it a lot. It makes me think of Darius Rucker, the lead singer of Hootie & the Blowfish. I have no idea why I know that because I never liked the band. But anyway, Darius is a cool name.
Its a name thats normally NMS but its actually quite nice and growing quite quickly on me.
I know a Darius who is just the most loveliest and spunky boys I've ever met..so Might be biased here
I'm not sure if it is pronounced dah-ree-uss or duh-rye-uss; I've heard both, mostly in connection with the story of "Daniel in the lions den" from the Bible.
