My natural colour is mousy /light brown but I am blonde ATM , I usually have a full head of highlights then a bit of toner over them so stop any brassy tones.

I am thinking about going back to a light/golden brown colour, I used to do this myself at home but I am not sure about colouring over highlights.

Can you do this?? I assume I would get a lighter colour ?

I have got an appointment with the hairdresser in 2 weeks but I am over the roots and she can't see me any earlier!!

TIA

My DD 19 has just dyed over her blonde highlights and it's come out fine.

Hi, You have to be really careful when going from blonde to a darker colour, as you can go green/khaki
From your post I understand it to be a full head of blonde foils??
Its because when you go from brown to blonde you are taking out all the pigment out of your hair. and then when you want colour back you more or less have to put all the colour back in that came out.
(there are orange, yellows and reds in browns) ....you know how you see people that bleach their own hair and go orange!
Now maybe some of those packet colours may turn out, but, I have never used them so I cant say exactly what is in them.
Anyway, I am a hairdresser and thats my advice.....wait and get it done professionally. and then once its the brown colour you want then you can buy the packet colour or whatever you use.
Hope it goes ok smile1.gif
