GOLD again cool.gif !

I am so tired this morning. I'm glad I don't have to go back to work until tomorrow. Coen didn't have a nap again yesterday - 3rd day in a row. He normally falls asleep in the car after DH drops me off to work. Anyway, he was awake at 6am this morning, but is back asleep now, so maybe it is catching up with him.

I hope everyone has a great week!

Hi girls,
Not much to report. Finished work for the day and having an old friend over for dinner.

Amanda, i think H would LOVE not to have a sleep during the day but still needs is so much IYKWIM....I hope it continues for a while yet.

Anyway need to have a tidy up and get dinner started.

Morning girls,

We are off to playgroup today. We are having a Teddy Bears Picnic and H wants to take his biggest teddy rolleyes.gif. It so cold here today. Brrrrrrr. Go away winter.

Hope everyone is going well. Have a lovely day. original.gif

I know! How weird has the weather been for this time of year? I am so over all the rain. I have washing that needs to dry, and it is taking forever. A few weeks ago I decided to fold up the clothes airer in the nursery that I use for nappies when the weather is bad, because I figured it was summer, I didn't really need it, and it would make more room. I have since put it back and packed it away about 4 times ddoh.gif. So it is back there at the moment, as the nappies would take too long to dry if I hang them outside, but they take nearly 2 days to dry inside too. Just as well I have so many tongue.gif! I counted my newborn nappies on the weekend, and I think I am set, so I must resist buying any more.

The nappy hunt is on at the moment, and I am trying to resist buying anything. I just bought 2 unisex covers this morning that will fit up until about 9 months, and I want some foamy wipes wash refill for Coen, but other than that must resist. Well, I could perhaps justify some training pants. Sooo tempted to get some Harry's Rocky Road though - that stuff is yummo! Maybe I can buy some stuff for Easter from there, but will have to resist scoffing it in the meantime ninja.gif. Really need to watch my weight as I am starting off this pregnancy 10kg heavier than I was when pregnant with Coen sad.gif.

I have to work this afternoon, so Mum will be coming over and I really should be tidying up a bit. My SIL was going for egg pick-up yesterday, so hopefully Mum will have news about that for me. I am now starting to think maybe it is better to tell my brother and SIL sooner rather than later about my pg. I have given it more thought, and I think there isn't going to be a good time, and maybe now when it is still their first cycle and they are in the hopeful stage might be better than waiting in the hope they'll get a BFP, which they may not, and then would be a bad time to say something. Maybe I should tell them before SIL goes for transfer? Or just after transfer? I don't know. The timing is bad sad.gif.

It's been so quiet in here! I hope everyone is having a good week!
mygorgeousboy
Good Morning,

Amanda, I was in a very similar situation with my brother and his wife and the pregnancy thing. They have been TTC for over 2 yrs now. They are recently under a new fetility specialist. I told them around the 9 week mark. I wanted them to find out from me (and not my Mum) and i felt terrible having to tell them, but they were both very supportive. I know they probably felt a little upset though. Its such a hard situation to be in but i would probably tell your Brother and SIL before they go for transfer.
How have you been feeling? Any morning sickness?

I got my NT results yesterday and all is good. I'm 14 weeks tomrrow, its going really fast. DH and I have been thinking about names....I don't think we will ever agree. rolleyes.gif

Anyway i have kiddies arriving very soon. Best be off. original.gif
tortagianduia
Holly, good to hear your NT results came back fine original.gif. 14 weeks - that has gone fast! Are you finding out what you are having at the next scan? How was the new obs about going for a VBAC? I don't have any symptoms yet, but I don't think I did this early with Coen either, except for sore heavy boobs, but as I am still bf'ing, I don't expect I'll get much changes with my boobs. I have a bit of cramping today, hope it isn't a bad sign. I know some people do get some cramping though.

I am so tired and my back is aching after work last night. I wish I could crawl back into bed and sleep for another couple of hours. I've been up since 6am, and got to bed around 1am.
mygorgeousboy
Hi Amanda,
I don't see my new Ob for another 2 weeks. I also got some cramping early on. shrug.gif Although i have started to change the bigger kids nappy on a change mat on the floor. One child i have is nearly 3, 16kgs and still in nappies so they were just to heavy to be picking up all the time. I'm sooo tired too. Dh's alarm went off at 4:20am (for a 5am start) and i didn't quite get back to sleep before H walked in at 6:50 with a big bright "HI MUM" ....... wink.gif
claireabell
need to a proper post, but in the meantime, Amanda, would you please make these dark choc cupcakes with peanut butter frosting and send them my way?
ginnyk
Hi Ladies,

Claire..... yummo !!!!!

Holly, how did the picnic go, how cute original.gif It must be very tiring looking after kids and being pregnant too - great your 14 week scan went well!

Amanda, yeah thats a tough one with your relos, you'll just have to tell them when you know its the right time in your heart... you are amazing, up at six, bed at 1am, phew how do you do it ?

Nappy hunt - never done it but would like to. Ashamedly, after not using a single disposable nappy for nearly 18 months, we are now only using disposables since we moved, just haven't been able to get into the hang of doing the nappies again ! And the squirty thing doesn't fit on the toilet so we need to get a new connection for it (and we can't do cloth without the little squirt!). Must get off my butt and get it all happening again, I hate buying 'sposies when we have all the lovely cloth nappies just sitting there for free!

We haven't been doing much here, just still unpacking - but I have updated my reno blog with before and after piccies of the ensuite (I know, how exciting... not!)... its the only room actually finished... oh, I guess the kids rooms are too, must take photos of them too! Anyway, if you are interested in having a peaky: http://renoin2months.blogspot.com/

Oh, and the main excitement in my life is I got an iphone and I luuurrrrve it biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

xoxo
ginny
tortagianduia
Claire, OMG, salivating just at the thought of those cupcakes tongue.gif! Yuuuum!!!

Ginny, the ensuite looks gorgeous! huge improvement. I still can't believe the previous owners hadn't cleaned it on leaving the premises nno2.gif - that's feral (and I don't normally use that word, but can't think of anything more suitable). Can't wait to see the pics of the kids' rooms! What a pain about the Little Squirt - it does make cloth nappying so much easier, I totally agree. I've been hunting, but haven't been doing as much since the hunt started as I did last time. I am currently fighting the temptation to buy anything, so looking at all these nappy sites is not helping laughing2.gif!

Holly, did you end up seeing the local obs before deciding on the one in Canberra? I am sure you've made the right decision. Good idea about changing the kids on the floor. How long do you plan to keep working for? Will you maybe cut back your days when you are further along?

My new cookbook arrived from The Book Depository this morning - it looks great, and was a fantastic price happy.gif . Coen was looking through it with me and saying "num num" over all the yummy looking photos laughing2.gif.

It has been raining so much here in the past week. All the ground is soggy. Some of the roads around Jordan's school were closed due to flooding, so he stayed home yesterday, but he's back at school today. Looking very overcast today, but no rain so far. Hope it clears up soon as I still have washing I am putting off doing, and the lawn needs mowing.

Hope everyone has a great day!
mygorgeousboy
Yummmmmmm Claire, I'm sooooo wanting some cupcakes with peanut butter....mmmmm

Amanda, I didn't end up seeing the local OB. Oh gosh there has been so much stuffing around it's so dissapointing. I have been searching for my test results for over a week (i have them now) and no-one knew who had them. The local OB had all of my info as my GP had sent all of results/history to him but he had lost them... rolleyes.gif Anyway i have ALL of my results here and will take them to the new OB in Canberra. I am still working 4 days at the moment, i think i will continue for a while yet, and probably stop around 36weeks. Its great being at home and earning a bit of cash at the same time. wink.gif

Ginny, WOW your bathroom is amazing. I love it. Can't wait to see the kids rooms. original.gif

Oh Yay, Last day of work is over for me...3 days off. I LOOOOVVEEE Thursday afternoons. My mum is coming down this weekend. She is going to mind H for us while we go to friends birthday dinner tomorrow night. Hope everyone is going well. Its a quiet thread so far. Bye x original.gif
~Simply*Blue~
It's been raining here too, non stop for almost 3 weeks I think. I have a good friends wedding tomorrow and they've changed the venue as of this afternoon as the grounds were too wet, she will still have the ceremony outside unless it's raining at the time.

I just found out today that my sisters friend tried to crack onto her, obviously my sister turned her down, and so then told her to get ****ed and she can't be a bridesmaid anymore

How B & B is that?!?!

Uni is great, but so totally exhausting, I'm heading to bed soon. I'm here on my own atm as dh is finishing up at work before having 5 weeks off. I'm starting to feel overwhelmed at the work and the assignments ohmy.gif Thank God I am only doing 2 units!
mygorgeousboy
Oh dear Rebecca. Sounds messy. Hope your sister is okay. huh.gif

I'm off to get my hair done today....woohoo. It happened with H too, but since being pregnant again i lose NO hair at all. So i feel like a bushy lion. After i had H i lost so much hair i seriously thought i was going to go bald. So cant wait to have a good cut and colour. And 3 hours to myself...Bliss. biggrin.gif

Happy Friday !!! x

RedsGirl
Oh Rebecca - scandal!!!! I wonder if she ever had any inkling that her friend felt that way? I hope her friend is OK - it was probably a big risk for her putting it out there - I wonder why she thought your sister might feel that same blink.gif ?

I am sure things with Uni will settle down. Its still new, you'll find your groove I am sure.

Holly - great you are seeing a new OBs, how funny that its the same as Claire! Would you deliver down in Canberra? I think you are very brave continuing on to 36 weeks. I guess if it does get a bit much you can pull the pin a bit earlier.

Amanda - hope you are tracking OK!!!!

Ginny - loving the renos!! You've done a great job, can't wait to see more...

AFM - well, had a big day on Wednesday. Took Mimie to the doctors, and yes she has some kind of infection and is on ABs. I am still annoyed Red didn't take her with him last Friday (he had an existing appointment and I begged him to take her too). I feel very sad and angry that she suffered through the weekend probably very uncomfortable with fever etc and if he'd taken her it could have been helped sooner. Sometimes it seems its more about what's convenient for him and I know he didn't take her becasue a) he doesn't think its as bad as it is and b) it would have interferred with his plans for the afternoon to pull her out of daycare at 2 o'clock - ie the gym and sleeping. Grrrrr. He isn't home at night, he doesn't hear her nor does he have to get up once or twice a night to comfort her/give her a drink or some medicine. Even yesterday when it was obvious she was still running a fever and very sleepy & getting used to the ABs, I was in tears before he agreed she should stay home from care. Is it a man thing, or is he just a tool sometimes? Happy to say it seems her fever has broken today and hopefully we are on the home stretch.

So I then had my Endocrinologist appt. What a great doctor, very funny, very matter of fact. Bottom line, I have Hashimoto's disease. He upped my thyroid meds and basically said no reason not to start trying (but if I do fall PG then I'd need to be monitored to ensure my levels are OK). ANd also not to worry about my weight etc until after baby, just to keep doign what I am doing.

And then I ad my HyCoSy. Wow, what a change from the hysterosalpingogram I had years ago - which was one of the most painful, horrible things I've ever had done. This was a breeze in comparison. So, tubes all clear, uterus is 'gorgeous' apparently laugh.gif and she counted HEAPS of follicles (43 in all). She said if I had other symptoms it would suggest polycystic ovary syndrome, but because my cycles are regular and I don't have the facial hair etc etc she thinks I am just very fertile - nice to know my old ovaries can still perform!

So basically that's the green light for us -sorry about waffling on, but I am very excited and little scared all at the same time!!! Just needed to get all that out.

I hope you all have a great weekend!

Megsxx

Just got the news this morning from my mum about my brother and SIL. SIL had 15 eggs harvested, which sounded very positive. She went back for transfer yesterday, and apparently of the 15, only 7 were good enough to fertilise. The plan was to transfer 2 and freeze the rest, but apparently the 5 remaining weren't good enough to freeze, and the 2 they transferred weren't great either sad.gif. I have no idea what this means, whether it means the fertilised eggs didn't divide up as quickly as they should have or what it means, but I am sad for them. So they came home after transfer very dejected, and have gone off now to stay in a resort for a few days, which I think is an excellent idea. So much for my waiting until after transfer when they'd be feeling positive as a good time to tell them I am pregnant theory. My mum has now told my SIL's mother that I am pregnant (she lives with them), and although she told Marg I wasn't planning to tell Stu and Fiss yet, maybe Marg will tell them. Still, I am keeping my fingers crossed that one or both of these little embies might surprise the FS by implanting and doing well.
tortagianduia
Holly, how was the dinner last night? What a pain about your results - glad you have managed to get them all now.

Rebecca, how did your friend's wedding go? Such a shame about all the rain necessitating a change of venue. Was the wedding yesterday the one your sister was supposed to be bridesmaid at? oomg2.gif about your sister's friend coming on to her - awwwkward!!! Glad to hear uni is going well; the workload can be overwhelming though. Hopefully once your DH is on hols you might find it easier to get some of your assignment work done.

Megan, poor Mimie sad.gif. I hope she is feeling better very soon. It's a shame Red didn't take her to the appointment last Friday - that does sound frustrating that he wasn't listening to your concerns. Hans is the opposite - Coen was being sooky and throwing a few tanties on Thursday night, and he was asking should we take him to the hospital as it didn't seem like normal behaviour for him rolleyes.gif . Coen had settled right down about 10 minutes later. That's great that you've got the green light from the endocrinologist to go ahead with ttc, and that the Hashimoto's has been diagnosed so that it will be managed. Good to hear the HyCoSy wasn't as bad as you were expecting, and that the news is so good! So will you be ttc straight away then? How exciting!

So now I am thinking maybe I should tell my brother and SIL about my pregnancy after they come back from their time away, before the 2WW is over in case it is sad news for them at the end of the 2WW? I don't know unsure.gif.

Prams - trying to decide whether to go a double? I figure it would be useful if I wanted to go walking for exercise after bub is born, but I don't know whether it won't be worth it at the age Coen will be (2 yrs, 9 m) shrug.gif. Anyone got any advice? Also, does anyone here have a Mountain Buggy (Megan, I am thinking you bought one for Mimie?)? How do you find it now that the kids are older? I am tempted to get a double Mountain Buggy, but I have read some reviews saying they're not as good for taller children, and was just wondering if anyone here had any experience with them? Normally I would think it was jumping the gun to be looking at buying another pram so early, but I have just recently discovered that MB have been sold to the same manufacturers as Phil & Teds, and that production has been moved to China. So if I can get my hands on a 2009 model, that will still be the NZ-made one, but all the 2010 models are Chinese-made. I'd prefer the NZ-produced one if I can find one, so I figure I need to make a decision about it soon - whether to get a double at all, and whether to get a MB.

Hans is working today, which I am a bit bummered about. He worked last Saturday too. It means I won't get to spend much time with him this weekend, because I always work Sunday afternoons. Still, the extra money will be handy.

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend!
~Simply*Blue~
My friend's wedding was AMAZING! She arrived by helicopter! And left by stretch hummer! How cool is that!

It was by the river and they had an ocean blessing and sand ceremony, just beautiful. Was able to catch up with heaps of old friends, I loved it.

This was a separate wedding to my sister's friends that was on last weekend. They didn't end up going at all, but that was the day of their bad gastro anyway, so couldn't have gone if they wanted to.

I don't know if my sister had any clue, she was starting to think she was strange though. One example was her friend letting herself into my sister's house while my sister was sleeping and creeping down the hall and then waking her up huh.gif
mygorgeousboy
Hi Girls,

Weekend almost over sad.gif

I had an amazing time this weekend with my Mum. Friday night she babysat for us (which both her and H loved). We don't leave H very often because we just don't have any family/close friends to ask near by. So it was very nice to enjoy dinner with Dh and not have to worry about H. Mind you we were home at 11pm. Sad i know. Yesterday we drove to Berrima. A cute little town about 45mins away. It has an old village feel and we had a great lunch at the pub. H feed the birds his lunch though. After lunch we drove to Bowral and had a lovely hore and cart ride through the town. H LOVED it. Then today before my Mum had to leave we had a fantastic breakfast at a little little cafe. yummmmo bacon and eggs and milkshakes. Then my Mum left sad.gif.

Today DH is painting H's room. We are still doing it up and he got a lovely bed cover set with match wall decos for his birthday, so we finally decided on colours are are doing it. I'll will post some pics once its done.

Megan, My DH probably would of shrugged it off too. There have been times when i knew H wasn't well and he was giving me, "your the over exaggerating mother" look. It did back fire on him a few months ago though when we were travelling in the car. I had mentioned to him that H was quiet and maybe we should stop so i could check it out. He thought i was being silly. H then said "Hudson sick" (we had never heard him say this before and both thought he was maybe saying it because he heard me mention it). DH continued driving and about 5 secs later H projectile vommitted through the back of the car...I couldn't help but through in an "i told you so". tongue.gif Hope Mimie is feeling better.

Rebecca, What an amazing wedding. Lucky bride. Glad you had a great time original.gif

Amanda/Prams, I have a Baby Jogger Elite and we have just bought a toddler seat that sits on the front. I love this pram its so easy to push and very light. It also folds really compact. I plan to use this pram for walks etc, but maybe a sling and a stroller at the shops. I'm not too sure. What does everyone else do? H wants to walk everywhere he can now and we rarley even get the pram out at the shops.

Sary, where are you? Hope everthing is okay. original.gif

Happy Sunday xx

Hello lovely ladies....

Just got my Mac back this afternoon. It was at the Mac shop being repaired and I have been without a computer for a week. Felt like having one of my arms cut off!

Eeeekkk! Maybe a bit of an addiction?!

But Mac have been FANTASTIC! Put it in on Thursday to be repaired and this afternoon they rang to say it was repaired... and all for FREE!

Going to read up and catch up on what you girls have been up to.

Hope everyone is happy and healthy!

Okey Dokey... think I am sorta up to speed.

Megan - Megs like that! Great news to hear that you are fertile! Exciting about TTC! Sorry to hear Mimie is sick... hope she has a speedy recovery.

Holly - Sounds like a wonderful weekend with your Mum with you and had a NIGHT OUT!! WHOOOOHOOOO! Well done. happy.gif I know how special that would be. DH and I went on a date night last night too. One of my MG friends and I do a night each month for each other. She had her work cut out for her though... Beau woke just after we left... and said, "I need another story!" Then he said, "uhhhh ohhh going to poo!" My poor friend had to change his nappy too! Then he insisted that, "Sit in Hallway and read your book" while he went off to sleep! rolleyes.gif She was really good and Beau loves her to bits so it was nice to know he was happy enough without us here. Hope your not too sad now your Mum has gone. I know it took me a few days to get over my parents going.

Amanda- Thinking of prams! Hee hee! bbaby.gif Making it more real. Well Macy was 2 years 10 months when Beau came along. I got the Mountain buggy double. It fits through a standard door... and I used it again for the zillionth time today! I have been sooooo happy with it. It is one of those purchases that I often say to DH has paid for itself over and over. And Macy is nearly 5 and we are still using it. In the early bits... I used my single pram and the baby bjorn.

Oh and 2 friends of mine had the phil and teds and then sold theirs and got the Mountain buggy double instead.

Rebecca - the wedding sounds awesome! Wedding are so lovely! Hope your studies are going well. You are so clever!

Well a week off the net and I think DH loved it... had the puter back for a few hours and he thinks he's lost me again to WWW!!! Hee hee! Better go! Byeeee!

kaishra
wow I've missed quite a few posts and a big announcement
Joel's 2nd Birthday!
Well he doesn't really get one this year cause he's the 29th and all but we celebrated on the 1st for him, had a lovely cake and roast dinner and he got lots of pressies and nana and cousin Chloe came up to stay with us for 4 days which was great.

Amanda, officially, Congratulations! biggrin.gif

Amanda, I've just PM'd you re the prams I've had, might get in trouble if I say nasty things about them lol

Well I've had a lovely couple of weeks, NOT! got my first cracked nipple, ouch, then got a massive lump in the same side, slept with a cabbage leaf in my bra and that got rid of it then found myself getting majorly sharp shooting pains through the same breast late at night, not nice at all, ended up taking codeine just so it'd go away and I could sleep, looks like I have thrush in that side probably caused by the cracked nipple and on top of that I have thrush (normal thrush blush.gif) too! So I've got DS4 & 5 on antifungal gel, me on Resolve cream but the chemist wont sell me anything oral to get rid of the nipple thrush from the inside cause it's only available on prescription and at $65 a pop I do not want to go to the Dr to get one, so here's hoping the cream works ARGH
RedsGirl
Just quickly - yes, we have buggy and I LOVE it. It's heavy (13kgs for the single) and a little on the wide side (although I believe the twin is pretty narrow for a twin) but you can take it anywhere, handles like a dream. Mimie has always been on the long side and I've not had a problem with her, in fact I'd heard the opposite, that they are great for taller children. Looking at mine, I can't see it being an issue.

And yes,to everything you mentioned - so disappointing manufacturing is moving to China. Make sure you ask at the baby shop, or check Ebay for a second hand one to be sure and get a NZ made one. can you believe Red and I picked up a pretty much spanking new urban elite from a rubbish collection the other day? Its immaculate, the only issue is that the basket underneath is missing, So now we have 2 rolleyes.gif .

Oh, and make sure you check the multiplies areas for good advise on twin prams.

And I only just realised I signed off as Megs, that's what my friends call me and I had been writing lots of emails to and fro organising our girls weekend away, so it stuck . laughing2.gif

Over and out for now.

I hope everyone had a good weekend!

Rebecca, wow on your friend arriving by helicopter for her wedding! Your sister's friend / ex-friend? does sound a bit odd.

Holly, glad you had such a lovely weekend with your mum! Would have been lovely you and your DH going out on your own together. Can't wait to see pics of Hudson's room once it is finished!

Sary, so nice to have you back and posting! I had thought you had the MB double - glad to hear you love it! And Macy was a very similar age to what Coen will be when the next bub is born, so I am glad to hear you have got lots of use out of it; sounds like the MB double will be the way to go. I really want the NZ-made one, which means I can't muck around too long or my only option will be second hand, but maybe I should wait until after I have had a scan at least to check everything is okay. I don't want to jinx things rolleyes.gif !

Lauren, happy belated birthday to Joel! Ouch on the thrush - I hope it clears up soon.

Megan, I can't believe someone left their MB out for rubbish collection considering how much they cost ohmy.gif ! That was a good score for you! Glad to hear you love your MB too. I think if I can't get a new NZ-made one, I'll look at buying second hand. Luckily they have changed the hood design with the new double, so it is easy to pick the 2010 model from the older model.

Hope everyone has a great week!

My poor sil nno2.gif

She lives in Bali with her 2 sons and DH. You may remember me talking about her flying in last year to have her baby here in Melbourne.

Well her poor little boy started having green poo. Then he started pooing blood! ohmy.gif In Bali they took him to hospital and they put him on a drip but from 6am till 2 in the afternoon not a single person came to check on them. nno2.gif My SIL left us a message to say what was happening and then she was flying into Perth and going to PMH to have him seen too.

Poor thing is exhausted. They think he might have a parasite in his stomach! Ughhh! She is awaiting the test results today. We are waiting to hear the news. She left her 2 year old and DH back in Bali. She sounds exhuasted poor thing. So scary!

ginnyk
Hi Ladies,

Sary, that is terrible about your sil little boy!! I hope he is ok, sounds just awful, especially having substandard care like that...

Amanda - its so hard to decide which pram to get isn't it!! Have you thought about getting one of these ? http://www.bubsngrubs.com.au/buggypod.html Looks pretty cool original.gif I hope your brother and SIL are successful this round, what a hard process to go through

Megan - poor Mimie... for what its worth, my DH is similar when it comes to illness, so I just make the decisions about when to take the kids to the dr and ignore him rolleyes.gif I hope she is feeling better now she is on the antis. Thats great you have the all-clear to start trying, and that your Hashimoto's disease can be controlled somewhat with drugs.

Holly, your weekend sounds lovely, ahhh, mums are nice original.gif Def post the pics of H's bedroom, sounds great!

Lauren, hope your thrush clears up, ouch!! Try grapefuit seed extract if your current creams don't work (google it for doesage) - worked a treat for me when I had thrush that wouldn't budge...

us - I'm working from home today, its a holiday in melbourne, but my work doesn't get it - but the work childcare closes for the day (duh, how are we meant to work!!). So I am of course surfing the web and cooking as well as working biggrin.gif Just made anzac biccies, but have eaten half the mixture before it even makes it into biccies ehehheh a guilty pleasure!
Its been mad weather here in mebourne, huge hailstones and lots of rain - great for the water storage, but not so good for drying clothes, we have a house full of wet washing !

Sary, OMG, that is scary for your SIL and her little boy sad.gif. I can't believe he was left for 8 hours with no one checking on him ohmy.gif . Sounds like bringing him back to Oz was the best option. I hope the doctors work out what is the cause of the bleeding very soon so he can be treated.

Ginny, the Buggpod looks like a neat idea! Decisions! Yummo about the Anzac biccies. I made a coffee crunch cake today because a friend was going to come over and spend the day here, but her 14yo DD turned up at 2am this morning in a taxi (this is the one that keeps running away), so my friend is feeling tired and fragile, and has said her daughter can't stay there. She actually kicked her out a week ago because her daughter kicked her, putting her back out and had punched her, putting bruises all over her arm. I'm pretty sure it is the first time she has ever been violent. From what my friend has said about her mood swings and erratic behaviour, I think she must be doing drugs sad.gif. Anyway, so I had made the cake in expectation of a guest to help me scoff some, then got the call to say Monique is at home and she couldn't come sad.gif.
mygorgeousboy
Hi Girls,

Sary, how scary for your SIL...And her poor bubba. I hope he gets the care he needs in perth. sad.gif

Ginny, Yummo Anzac biscuits. They are DH's favourites. wink.gif

Amanda, Oh your poor friend. It must be so horrible to have to go through that. I really feel for parents that have no choice but to sit back and watch their children being so destructive. It must be heart breaking for her. It does sound like she is doing drugs though which makes thing a whole lot scarier. huh.gif How old is her daughter again?

Finished work for the day..YAY. One day down and 3 to go. We are going away for 4 nights this weekend. and i am so excited to have some time off work and spend quality time with DH and H. Bring on Thursday afternoon. biggrin.gif

Off to cook dinner. ( i hate cooking dinner, feels like we eat the same thing over and over again)....ANy ideas??????? Please send them my way ! wink.gif

Okay so my SIL's baby is doing lots better. Thank goodness! Turns out with the tests that it was/is samonella! Now I am slightly worried as she has been staying with my other SIL who is pregnant and due to give birth this next week.... ohmy.gif

Well heard the news that it is Samonella for my nephew. My SIL was saying she so hopes her sister goes into labour as she leaves to go back to Bali tomorrow.

And now a few hours later I have gotten the news my other SIL has gone into labour!!!! What an eventful week there!!!

I am pooped! Had fruit duty again today (did also on Friday). Was very very very busy... and Beau was a bit clingy today - which added to the juggling. And DH departed this morning for another week away. Phew!

But as I left kinder today I got the most wonderful unexpected surprise. Macy gave me the biggest hug in front of a group of her little buddies, and she said, "You are the best Mummy in the whole world and I love you so much!" Awwwwww.... Melt! Not often I get those moments! happy.gif llove.gif

How is everyone else's week tracking?

Holly - totally with you on the dinner front. I get sooooooo completely bored with our menu and it repeats over and over again. However I am so over cooking I can't be bothered learning new recipes. So I guess I am no help to myself! rolleyes.gif

Well off for the bath, brush teeth, story part of the evening.... byeee waves.gif

Awww Sary, that made me cry. It really makes it all worth it, moments like that eh? You just want to bottle them.

Glad to hear they figured out what was up with the little guy. How bloody terrifying though! Its wonderful that Bali is not too far from Perth for some good medical care. Let us know how your other SIL goes!

Ginny - that bugpod looks like a great idea! Esp for a kid like Mimie who really prefers to walk everywhere, so easier to get her in and out of it if she wants to be FREEEEE. And you've got me thinking about Anzacs now too - I guess its that time of year hey?

Amanda - your poor friend... I've said it before, but tha's every parents worst nightmare isn't it? Can they stage some kind of intervention and get her into rehab?

If I lived closer I would come help you eat that cake, but alas.... I hope you are doign OK! When are you off to the doctor?

Holly - I feel exactly the same way. The problem is Red does cook most weeknights and its really a hard to get him to cook something that isn't steak and oven fries with salad OR mexican. AHHHHHHHH. That said, I do have a few other recipes in my repertiore that are generally quick and easy:

Beef and feta rissoles these are a realtively new addition to our roster and are really yum.

Crispy yoghurt chicken and Chicken Scallopine

Zucchini slice - for a light dinner and it freezes OK for a short while too.

I also make this sort of casserole all in the microwave - I don't have the recipe handy, but roughly it goes like this: ... first you zap some chicken drumstick/thighs, sliced onion and mushroom covered for about 10 minutes. Drain the liquid about half way through. Then add a jar of pasta sauce and cook again for about 10 minutes covered. Finally sprinkle some cheese, breadcrumbs and dried herbs (if you want) on top and zap for a final 5 minutes uncovered. You can serve it with pasta or with mash/vegies. Its quite easy and tasty. I guess you could use breast or thigh if you wanted also.

I have a few saved that I want to try as well, so can report in when I test them out.

AFM - well, Mimie's cough is worse if anything, She went back to the doctor yesterday and has almost finished her AB course, the fever is gone and generally she's quite bright but at night the cough is just horrendous. I am up at least 2-3 times with her. I really don't know what to do - the doctor is certain is not asthma, so I guess we just have to ride it out and make her as comfortable as we can. We make sure she's warm, I am doing the Vicks thing, I've switched her to a bit of Nurofen for its anti-inflammatory stuff (we give her a half dose, I thought it might help with inflammed throat with all the coughing), the head of her bed is propped up, she gets Brauers (which I actually think does jack sh*t). What else can we do?

That sad, I think its worse for me that her, I rush in there sometimes when it sounds like she's coughed up her lungs, and she's asleep!! Meanwhile Red is either at work, or sleeps through it all rolleyes.gif

Oh and FINALLY some movement in the back yard ddance.gif ddance.gif ddance.gif the back wall is painted bright red, and the decking dude is there today doing pergola and deck (well, starting on it). Goodbye muddy weedpatch!!!
mygorgeousboy
Megan, Thank you, thank you, thank you, for those yummy recipes. I will be trying them out. And great news on the backyard getting started. kepp us updated with some piccies. Poor Mimie and that horrible cough. About 6 mths ago H had a bad cough it lasted forever. I seriously thought he would have this cough his whole life. I hope Mimie gets better soon and you get a full night sleep soon. sad.gif

Sary, Macy is just so adorable. What a gorgeous thing for her to say. Hope your week goes smoothly with your Dh away. Hope both your SIL's are tracking along okay.

AFM, not much has changed. I am 15weeks now. I have my first OB appointment on Tuesday. H's room is nearly finished. YAY. And we are going away for the weekend. Can't wait. I am counting down the days. Must be the weather, but all of the FDC kids are going a bit crazy this week. yesterday i had 3 throwing a tantrum AT THE SAME TIME. In the end i let them go. I think they were encouraging each other to continue. I have a 14mth old who is very clingy and screaming while i was changing Hudson's nappy. Hudson said " baby is broken" ........ huh.gif It sure felt like that. Anyway better day today. All fast asleep now and i'm off to have some lunch.... xx

Hello

Reading but not posting ph34r.gif

We had a shocker here last week, perfect storm of both kids teething and both kids sick. NIGHTMARE! DD was really hit hard and woke every hour one night, cried so much she woke DS. I actually wondered whether she was having night terrors as no matter what we did we couldn't get any sense from her or get the crying to stop, then all of a sudden she'd stop, fall back on the mattress and be asleep. Horrible stuff. things are much better now thank goodness.

DS is going great guns. He hit six months last week and started commando crawling! yikes! such a change from DD who didn't get mobile until closer to 10 months. He's now getting up on his hands and knees, so watch out world. He also has his first tooth. He's not a little baby anymore.

So much to catch up on.

Brooke, that is an AMAZING weight loss, well done!!! you must be so chuffed. My mum has just (over the last 5 months) lost 15kg so i know how much discipline it takes. well done (PS where on earth did you hide it b/c in your photos you never looked like you had any extra weight).
I am so sorry about your car being taken, it all sounds a bit dodgy doesn't it? Is the school investigating? Is it primary or high school?

That reminds me of mum's friend who was a lecturer. She was walking back to her office one morning and saw a man with her briefcase. She stopped him and asked him what he was doing, and he was very charming and said that it was his briefcase and they must have the same one. They had a laugh about it, she felt v embarrassed and she continued on to her office. Got there and it had been broken into, trashed and her briefcase stolen ohmy.gif

Amanda, how are you going?! how great is your chart? nice and triphasic. are you going to find out the sex? have you been thinking about names at all?
Fingers crossed for your SIL. i have heard many stories about people getting pregnant with a poor quality embryo. i had a hard time telling my best friend when I fell pregnant with DS. We started trying at the same time, and now i have two kids and she is about to start IVF sad.gif DH accidentally let slip to another friend that we were UTD with DS, so i got straight on the phone to tell my best friend before she heard it though anyone else. She cried, and then didn't mention it for a very long time. after a few months we had a big chat and my god things have been hard for her. she is flying out here in a few weeks to meet DS. then back home for IVF. i would give anything for her to have a family. DH and i have already discussed surrogacy if that is what she needs/wants (they suspect very early losses).

As for a double pram, we have the Babyjogger City Mini Double and i love it, although it's not great for rough terrain (not that i would know). Very easy to operate and turns on a pin. what sold it for me was the extra large sun canopies, you can block out a lot for the newborn so they can sleep when you're out and about.

Holly good luck with Dr H on Tues, i hope you like him! i really admire you doing FDC, i can barely manage with my own two some days.

Sary, high drama!!! hope both your SILs are okay. and awww about Macy, i always smile when i read your posts about her, she sounds so gorgeous!

Lauren, jeebers! that sounds so painful. how did you end up with a crack? hope things are clearing up for you. How are you enjoying your new home (is it wagga? or dubbo? huh.gif )

Ginny, love love love the renos! So sleek, well done. i would love an iphone too, have you got any good apps? My SIL is a book illustrator and has a couple of ebooks for iphones.

Megan (Megs!) are you using a vaporiser with Mimie? Some times these things seem to hang around for ages. FWIW both DD and DS have coughs at the moment. Must be the season for it. Those recipes look good, I think I have seen the yoghurt chicken one on your blog?

As for Reds and Mimie being sick... i nodded all the way through your post. Sounds JUST like DH.

Is it a man thing, or is he just a tool sometimes?

same thing aren't they?!

I have no idea about any of the procedures and stuff you've been having but by the sounds all is good - yay! so are you guys TTC now? how exciting!

Rebecca how's uni going? Must be so full on with a family to care for as well.

I've been sewing every night lately. mainly stuff for mum's business (boring) but also some stuff for DD, which is on my blog. Really need to sew for DS but i am a fan of wondersuits etc for little babies, so will wait until he's a bit bigger.

I've been at the hospital a bit this week. my grandfather fell and broke his hip 2 weeks ago and things just spiralled from there. he was kept in emergency for 3 days before he had surgery and was put on the ward, then started fitting and they found bleeding on his brain and clots. so more surgery - which they said was essential - and now he can't wake up. it's so, so sad. He is in palliative care now. i really want to take DD to see him as she has seen him every week of her life and they just love each other, but he is unrecognisable and TBH a bit scary looking, just not himself. She wouldn't recognise him. So i will keep her away, but feel so sad for them. He was fine just a few weeks ago.

sad note to finish but i need to do some stuff while my babies are asleep. hope everyone is well and happy.
babybump2
Oh Megs sorry to hear Mimie is still not better! And yes it is so draining when your little munchkin is sick. Hope she improves soon.

Yippee about your backyard though. Look forward to the pics.

Holly - 15 weeks! It is going quick! Well at least it is for me!!!! biggrin.gif A l-o-n-g weekend sounds great. Hope you have a wonderful time.

Claire - Wow what an effort at all the personals!! So sorry to hear that you have been having a tough time with sick kids. Hope they are both on the mend. And so so sorry to hear about your Grandfather.

I am off to watch the rest of SYTYCD... but wanted to pop in and let you know my sil had a baby girl! Yippee! And my other sil has gone back to Bali with her baby and he is recovering. So double yippee!

Beau crashed out in my lap at story time tonight. First easy night in AGES! He didn't have a sleep today and that was the result... hmmmm... makes it appealing when I have easy nights like that rather than the monkeying around till 930/10PM of late.

Oh and not sure if everyone has given up on the blog but I posted a couple of snaps of my kamikaze water baby! (I mean BOY!)
babybump2
Forgot to add Claire... Tom crawling! Where did that time go. I was sure you just had a baby... Number 2's grow up so much quicker don't they!
tortagianduia
Holly, Monique (my friend's daughter) is 14yo. Rose found out from the police that Monique had been involved in stealing a car a month ago, and apparently the police don't even have to phone and inform the parents if their child has been brought in for questioning ohmy.gif - they can just have a JP with them. Such a crazy system. Anyway, I think Monique is now staying at a friend's place. Hopefully she is safe. Poor Rose has spent so much time off sick from work with stress, isn't sleeping well, and is finding work hard when she is there - now to top everything off, she has received a letter of warning from her work about her performance glare.gif. They know what is happening and have told her she can't bring her personal life to work huh.gif . I am sure she tries not to, but worrying about your 14yo daughter being out on the streets, getting drunk, doing drugs, having sex with strange men, etc. must make it bloody difficult. And her DH left her last year when all this started, so she is trying to cope on her own, and is struggling financially and emotionally. The financial side of things has been made worse when Monique has been at home - running up the phone bill and electricity bill (one day she had turned the ac down to 16C, hidden the remote, and then left for the day).

15 weeks! It just seems to be going so quickly! How did the ob appointment go? I am in a bit of a cooking rut too as far as dinners go. Have a lovely time away!

Sary, I am so glad that your SIL's little boy is doing better now. How sweet is Macy wub.gif?! And congrats on your new niece! What did your SIL name her? I love the underwater pics on the blog!

Megan, re. the rehab for Monique - I don't know. Rose has now told me Monique was in hospital a couple of weeks ago - she has been cutting herself and they think she attempted suicide ohmy.gif . Rose seems to think it wasn't a serious attempt, just a call for attention. Nevertheless, she thought she really needed assessing and took her to the youth mental health service to be assessed by a psychiatrist, but was then told there was nothing they could do for Monique, as she refused to be assessed. So that was that. It seems as a teenager, she has a lot of rights, but her own mother has none and no control over her. I think she knows to some degree how dangerous what she is doing is, but doesn't want help, so I don't know that an intervention would help. Rose is meant to be coming over today, so I will talk to her about it. But my guess is if they got the family together to try and do anything like that, Monique would just walk out. She is determined to keep doing what she wants to do.

I am off to the GP tomorrow. I phoned on Tuesday to make the appointment with my regular GP, only to be told she isn't working there anymore cry1.gif! I am overdue for a pap smear, so I have booked a long appointment to have it done tomorrow, but I am feeling very apprehensive about having it done with a doctor I have never met before. I hate pap smears sad.gif. So anyway, I am hoping I can get a referral for a dating scan, and if I do, I will try and book the scan for the 22nd March, because Hans has that day off from work, and I will be 7 weeks and 3 days by then. I assume the GP won't take my word for it that I know when I o'd, and will want a dating scan, and it would relieve my mind to see that bub is doing okay in there.

Those beef and feta rissoles look scrummy! I have printed the recipe off and might make them this coming week.

I hope Miss Mimie is feeling better soon. That cough is certainly persistent. I would try a humidifier or vaporiser in her room.

Ooh, backyard makeover! Sounds exciting! Pics? How's the deck and pergola coming along?

Claire, I hope your two kidlets are feeling better now. Not fun having both teething and sick at the same time. I can't believe Tom is crawling already! He is growing up so quickly!

I am going okay - no symptoms yet, but I didn't get sick until I was about 8 weeks with both the boys, so hopefully everything is fine.

Names: we'll most likely recycle the girl's name from last time, though I am reconsidering the middle name. Boy's names - I thought I was good to go with the only name from my shortlist that was usable after we picked Coen (we had a lot of similar sounding names - Caelan, Callum), but then DH pointed out it actually rhymes with my girl's name, so if I have a boy this time and used the boy's name, and then ended up having a girl next time, I might not want to use the girl's name. So I have since come up with another boy's name, but I don't love it quite as much, and think a lot of people might not like it (but then I thought the same thing with Coen, and he nearly ended up being Aidan as I thought people would accept Aidan better). So I think I am better to go with my second choice for a boy's name if we have a boy, but then what if we don't end up having #4, I'll wish I had used the first choice wacko.gif? So the names are still a work in progress, I guess, but I am really just tossing up between 2 boys' names, and the middle name for the girl's name.

My chart blush.gif - you'd think I could stop temping now, wouldn't you, oh and testing daily rolleyes.gif ?!

I am glad to hear there are stories out there of falling pg with a poor quality embryo - I will just have to keep my fingers crossed that at least one implants and sticks for my SIL then. I still haven't told them. They went away after transfer last week, and had previously said they would only try one round of IVF, but when they came back said they'd talked about it and will try another round if they don't get their BFP this time. I hope your best friend has success with IVF hands.gif.

Will have to go check out your blog after I have finished this post. I love your creations!

I am so sorry to hear about your grandfather sad.gif. I can't believe it took the hospital 3 days to get him into surgery nno.gif. And so unfortunate that he then had a stroke too sad.gif. I think you are doing the right thing keeping Evie away.

I am stressing so much about this GP appointment tomorrow. I feel so fat and self-conscious. I am worried I'll get a lecture for being overweight, and might be told I am too high-risk for shared care based on my weight unsure.gif. I am really disappointed with myself; I have put on all the weight I had lost with WW last year back on - I got despondent because the weight loss didn't seem to be making any difference (fertility-wise), and unfortunately I gain weight very quickly and easily ddoh.gif. I am trying to eat healthily and exercise more now, but it isn't making any difference sad.gif.
RedsGirl
Amanda - maybe ask for a thyroid check..... not sure if its routine, but it explain a lot of my not being able to shift weight etc etc Pretty important for PG too. Don't stress, even the Endo the other day told me not worry about my weight. If you aren't comfortable with the doctor, then postpone the pap smear and find another doctor. I really need one too wwhistle.gif

As for Monqiue, oh dear

Why are you having it done when you're pregnant? Every time mine was due and I was pregnant the dr wouldn't do it and waited till the 6 week check jic.

Had one of those wonderful mummy moments tonight! Had both kids in the bath together and then E starts splashing T. Rather than burst into tears (what I expected) he cracks up and starts laughing so hard he can hardly catch his breath! This continues for a few minutes until all they have to do is look at eachother and they start giggling! I took T out of the bath to get ready for bed while DH finished getting E ready, and when E came in a few minutes later to say goodnight to T, he took one look at her and started to laugh again. ohhhh I love being a mummy sometimes! moments like tonight make up for all the hard work.

happy.gif wub.gif Sounds so gorgeous Claire! Just picturing your lovely munchkins in my mind. happy.gif

Well I SHOULD be in bed. But I don't have DH here telling me to go to bed! Both kids are sleeping and I am exhausted. So I SHOULD be sleeping... okay I am off...

night night

Oh before I go - Macy had a break through moment today. She swam underwater at her swimming lessons for the first time and she was sooo proud of herself. Heck I was SO proud of her. Unlike her crazy water brother - she hates getting her eyes wet and is so cautious. It was so great seeing her swimming and she didn't want to get out of the pool. "Look what I can do Mummy" She said then swam away from me underwater. Beau on my hip, said, "Look what I can do Mummy" and threw himself off my hip and tried to swim underwater after her. rolleyes.gif nno2.gif He is freaking me out a little. Even our swim teacher is saying how crazy he is in the water. After one of the Humpty dumpty bits... where they stand on the wall and have to jump in. He deliberately jumped to the side of me so I had to jump to try and catch him and I HAD TO GO UNDERWATER to retrieve him. sad.gif Eeekk! Crazy boy.

Hi Ladies -

Megan, My DS had a terrible cough that hung around for months, apparently there is a bug thats been going around - he had about 5 doses of anti's none of which really worked, it just went away by itself in the end... Anyway, I hope Mimie is feeling better soon, nothing worse than hearing them cough away at night time (although its amazing how they can do it whilst alseep!)

claire - thats really sad about your grandfather, I hope you are coping ok. sad.gif I happened to look at your sewing blog the other day, just amazing and gorgeous, you have such a talent!

Sary, congrats on becoming an aunt again, very glad your nephew is on the mend, phew!!

Amanda, hope your appointment goes ok tomorrow, its hard seeing a new dr isn't it!! Its such hit and miss (but I hope your's is a hit!). I just booked in for a pap smear too.... looks like I haven't had one since well before amelia was born, oh dear...
Oh, and I am also one of those people who gains weight easily and quickly - I just have to be in the same room as carbohydrates and I put on kilos! But keep up the healthy eating etc, it makes a difference on the inside! (says she who just had a hot cross bun and small chocolate rabbit as an after dinner snack... **smacks self on hand**)....

claire, just read your last post blush.gif blush.gif blush.gif ain't kids great sometimes original.gif

For me - well, I accidently (of course) ran into the back of a car yesterday - it was a very low-speed accident, and no-one was hurt, but there was a bit of damage to the other car and it will be lots of $$$ to pay the excess and what a hassle... I feel like such an idiot doing it because about 3 weeks ago, someone just did the same thing to me and I only picked up the car from repairs last friday! cry1.gif

Poor millie has had an ear infection for the past few days which means no sleep because it hurts when she lies down, I feel so sorry for her - she slept with us 2 nights ago and she kept tapping me on the shoulder and saying "ouch mummy" pointing to her ears sad.gif But she is looking a bit better today after being on antibiotics for a couple of days.

well, better go get some zzzzzzssss

true but she has never been to this dr and is still in the early stages. (not to be a worry wart or anything!)
claireabell
Sary, i see you there. GO TO BED tongue.gif
tortagianduia
Pap smears while pg - I have had pap smears when pg with both boys. It is considered safe if you are 18 weeks or under. I am less concerned about having a pap smear while pg than I am showing my bits to a GP I don't know blush.gif. It is only a very thin scraping of cells they take. I believe pap smears are less accurate when you are pregnant, but most carers like to have up-to-date pap smear results. The wife of one of my hubby's workmates was found to have cervical cancer which was so aggressive, the baby had to be delivered early so they could treat it ohmy.gif .

And I am probably more worried that he is going to take one look at how heavy I am and give me a lecture about my weight. I am just feeling very self-conscious at the moment.

Lauren, I am glad your nipple is improving. Ouchies!

Claire, that is so cute about Tom giggling at his big sis!

Sary, Beau certainly sounds fearless! And yay on Miss Macy swimming underwater!

Ginny, poor Milly. Ear infections are the worst sad.gif. Hope it is all cleared up soon. And bummer about the accident. Glad no one was hurt.

Just popped in quickly to say hope it all goes well today at the docs Amanda! x

And Holly have a super long weekend x

I had my appointment with the new GP this morning. I had spent most of the morning before the appointment worrying about everything, and debating whether to do a little downstairs grooming in preparation for the pap smear laughing2.gif! I didn't, and the effort would have been unnecessary anyway, because the GP told me in his practice, if you are low-risk (have never had any abnormalities detected on previous pap smears), he prefers to wait until the 6 week postpartum visit, which I was happy with. He didn't comment on my weight when he weighed me, thankfully. My blood pressure was good. He did a urine test to confirm my pregnancy, and I have a referral for routine blood work and a dating scan. So I am to go back in a week, or the day after my scan. I don't think I want to go for the scan just yet though. I am 6 weeks today, and I think if I wait another week, I will have a better chance of seeing a heartbeat. So all is good so far, and the new GP seems really nice. There is another new GP at the practice, a female, but I felt very comfortable with him, so I'll go back to the same GP.

I am feeling kind of nervous and excited at the prospect of a scan!
tortagianduia
Oh, and the appointments were running late, so I saw the practice nurse first, and she talked me into having the swine flu vaccine and flu vaccine. Flu vaccine is a live vaccine, so I am hoping I don't end up sick and regretting it!
~Simply*Blue~
Amanda, how good would getting those bfps everyday feel after how long you've waited! I'm sure they'd be coming up instantly now!

My neices 1st birthday tomorrow, we went and had cake etc today, just can't believe it, she's just started walking too.

Got Cooper into sleep school on Wednesday, was very lucky someone cancelled so I got straight in. I think he was up 5-6 times last night rolleyes.gif
tortagianduia
Rebecca, hope sleep school helps Cooper. That must be so hard having to get up so many times during the night, when you have 4 kids to look after the next day plus uni.

My scan is booked for next Monday. I am feeling nervous! I hope there is a healthy little bubba in there.
