littlemumma - N has missed daddy too. He has been around for dinner and a bit of play time but has been following him around all day. wub.gif Its nice to see I'm not the be all and end all! There are still a few of the sets floating around, not may of the boxes left though. I am hoping N will love it, I think he will, loves pretending.

BG - Thats just awful for your friend! I hope your DH gets better soon, for your benefit of course wink.gif

Elliesmum - You can have a squiz if you like, not sure what post would be they aren't heavy, so I can't imagine they would be that expensive! They are an exclusive to target thing.

We are cleaning cleaning cleaning.. We have the carpet cleaners coming Monday so having to get things up off the floor and move furniture, most will be done tomorrow but catching up on other things so we can have it all sorted by tomorrow night.
~Elliesmum~
I'll definitely have a look if I can get there Cassi original.gif

littlemumma- Id' get a lot more done if I could only decide where to start LOL. At the moment I want to make cold pour soap (who knows WHY I must have a new obsession!), I have yarn dyeing to do for me, tie dyeing 10 singlets for SIL, a knit sewing project to do for my sewing challenge, K needs a new sleeping bag and some more clothes, and theres about a dozen other things. They all scare me so I've done nothing LOL Procrastination is my name Tounge1.gif maybe I'll do nothing until next week!

The kids watched a movie here too, we have free movies on austar at the moment so they watched Hotel for dogs or something, they liked it original.gif Saturday is their "movie night" where they are allowed to stay up late and make popcorn original.gif

Currently have the day after tomorrow on, but might go catch up on a weeks worth of biggest loser instead lol. I also have knitting to finish
cassi8
laughing2.gif Robyn, better get cracking then! I still haven't finished those shorties and they have been packed now. N pulled stitches off the needles and I am scared about having to pull it back.
~Elliesmum~
oh bugger cassi! Its good practice really, I found my knitting improved out of sight when I had to start fixing my mistakes wink.gif of which there were many! I was going ok on a top for K this week until I didn't have enough stitches in a lace pattern, so went back one by one, then had too many stitches rolleyes.gif . After 3 nights of trying to fix it I ripped it back to almost the start in a spot I could fix LOL. You can also insert a lifeline thread or circ, underneath where its come off the needles if and when you want to pick it up again wink.gif then if you rip it back to there you can start again

hmm enough talking about knitting and off I go... see procrastination, I should turn this puter off!
beaglebaby
Elliesmum, have you had a look on aussiesoapsupplies for the soap making materials? I picked up a few things from them recently - lovely people. We must be related, procrastination is one of my middle names too, but I've now accepted I can't do anything at the moment and put the sewing machine away.

Cassi, I think I'm the queen of unfinished projects, DD will have grown out of her cardigan before I finish sewing it up, knitting only took 3 days, I'm sure I've been sewing it up for 18months blush.gif Those play sets look really good, no shops open over here until Tuesday, but I might just have to have a wander through Target before playgroup then if we go.

Littlemumma, I managed to shop child free today - advantage of having Mum staying. Lucas is a shocker in the trolley though, tries to stop me even holding on to the handle!

Bellygood, hope DH improves quickly, blerk! Your poor friend, how devestating to lose a child in avoidable circumstances. I'm not sure what my rhesus status would be if I was pregnant again, even though I'd had the anti-D they detected antibodies in the cord blood, could have been serious for Lucas, and the paediatrician who saw him first didn't even read the pathology report so didn't pick it up - it was only when I asked if they'd found a reason for his severe jaundice the other paed checked the blood results! I hope your friend is able to find a Dr the trust and can have another child if that is what they want.

Ali, we need cake photos:)

Sharon, you sound so close to your sister, what a pity she is overseas. Mine are all over that side of the country, as are DH's brothers, MIL and FIL are the only relations over here, but sometimes I think they might as well not be here!!

Lucas has been waking between 5 and 5.30 for the last few days, not a good combination with me not being able to sleep at night. We've had horrendously hot weather, so we're all tired and grumpy. Our computer was threatening a meltdown, must have heard me talking about having ordered its replacement, so DH has spent the last day getting the new one up and running, the screen is so wide most webpages have big spaces on either side.

Side effects are starting to knock DH around, so Mum and I took all the kids with us to Hungry Jacks where DS had a birthday party to go to, then wandered around the shopping centre in the airconditioning hoping DH was getting a good, uninterrupted sleep at home. Mum leaves tomorrow, I'm going to miss her, but she is offering to come back again in 2 weeks for the next cycle.

I've got a mouse in my kitchen and it sounds like it's eating the cupboards, or wiring under the oven. It all went quiet after I slammed the oven door shut a few times. DH usually looks after these things but I couldn't go and wake him, so I've found a trap and set it in the next cupboard, not sure I can get anything down under the oven. But tomorrow morning I think I'll head straight to Bunnings for some baits! I hate the destructive little critters, one cost us hundreds of dollars last year when it ate through the alarm cables.

trinyweeny
morning all

Beagle - Jacqui does the same in the trolley won't let me touch it to push. wacko.gif Makes getting the shopping done bloody hard. Hope you get that mouse. YUCK!

BG - How awful for your friend. I can't believe that wasn't even checked.

Elliesmum - Its a pity we can't get paid for procrastination. I am also extremely good at it.

Jacqui has finally taken off with walking. YAY. Was walking around yesterday carrying her ball or some bags, looking very proud of herself. We are heading out for lunch today with friends. DH also thinks he might be getting Jacqui's cold. GREAT!
cassi8
oh no Triny, not the man cold!! laughing2.gif get the sudafed into him now!! haha.

BBS for more personals.
cassi8
ok back briefly, busy cleaning and getting ready for tomorrow.

I third the trolley thing and we have started with 'mine' although I have ignored it so far.

cclap.gif Jacqui! You won't stop her now Triny! They will have a great time when we catch up. Speaking of catch up, any suggestions of where?? Maybe Bicentennial Park??

Thanks for the tips Robyn, I'll give it a go one day. I can always get mum to help me if I need it although I am stubborn and get so much more satisfaction out of doing it all myself. wink.gif

ok back to it!
trinyweeny
Cassi - Bicentennial Park sounds good to me.
melaniejasmin
bicentennial park down the bottom of Glebe point road? sounds good to me too.

had a good nights sleep after horrid sleep on friday. there was a band playing on King st (main road through Newtown) till about 130 am.. I was sooo tired, and angry I got up at 1 to get the police number (and check the noise restrictions again!) but by the time I checked they had stopped... if it happens again, I'm going to be on the phone at 1210! two fridays in a row.... rant.gif

and we were going to the beach this morning but that has been cancelled due ot the tsunami warnings.... what a crappy weekend...

sorry, just a bit annoyed today!

Cassi - I went to Bankstown Target yesterday, but they only had the one 'looking after baby' bucket left. there may have been more earlier, there was a woman with a trolley why was literally sweeping toys with reduced stickers off the shelves into the trolley...! so I missed out on anything worthwhile..

The closest you can get Beagle! cry1.gif
I always go through this...sad she is not here, angry and then I just get over it and then feel like it all again in a few months. So silly.

My elder sis was born with mild cerebral palsy and my younger sis had dyspraxia speech difficulties when young. She was 3 years old and still hadnt uttered a word! So yes, we did it tough as a family for a while and my poor dad had 4 jobs for awhile to pay for extra things.
I would always wait at appointments and when my sissy's did exercises etc, and my mum would tell me I could go and play and I would always say "I will wait...If they cant play then I cant" My mum always was amazed at how much patience I had as a kid!! Maybe I used it all up??!!! LOL

Bellyg / Seepi? anyone? Am sadly selling my pink cotton sleeping bags. They are size 1...2 both the same. Holli used it from 4 months to only now....so got my money's worth.
PM me anyone and I can put up pics. They are in exo condition.

Gotta go. DD1 and I are making a book! blink.gif

Good afternoon everyone. Summer seems to be saying goodbye to us here in Melbourne sad.gif. Yesterday was so crappy out at Emerald, drizzly and cold! Today is not much better. It was fun though, although DH complained about the long drive. Claudia was a bit grumpy too, I think after the early start with swimming she got a bit tired, she wasn't her usual happy self. Today I got some great news, got the result back for my political news story and I got 98! oomg.gif I was absolutely gobsmacked, I knew it was better than my previous story but no way did I anticipate doing that well. Now to get pumped for the exam, and to start two new subjects this week. One of them has a LOT of writing to do, it's going to be hard work.

Will be back tomorrow with more time to catch up...
**KM**
Blondie A BIG Congratulations to you, I must have known to come and read this thread (wasn't just my ears burning).

Will go back and have a good read and see whatever other news you all have. Milly just went down for a sleep so have some spare time now. I have found it hard to keep up with the thread with my crazy last few weeks organising the national rallies and other commitments I've had (and home schooling), but I do miss you all (thank goodness for FB).

alimumof3
hi gang

hello KM! figured you've been busy. How is the Home Schooling going?

Well my neighbour finally had her baby this morning. she named her Alyssa. when we were walking last night she said she was having some heavieness and i thought "hmmm" but being 6 days overdue it was eventually going to come! she's only staying in hospital tonight so said she will bring bubs in tomorrow (cos its my DD's bday). LIving next door makes it easy to do things like that!
she was only 7lb15oz which I don't think is big at all for an overdue bub!

littlemumma I think it was you that asked - DD will be 3 tomorrow wub.gif
Our family brunch was nice this morning. She is having a party on thursday with her mothers group friends.

beagle no way! my cake is not good enough for public display!! although DD did say her fave thing of today was her ladybug cake!

we watched "The Lovely Bones" last night. my goodness I bawled. I have read the book so knew the gist of it but still cried like a baby.
melaniejasmin
Yay Blondie! great result!
laraq75
Hi girls,

I am back from Sydney. We had a great couple of days. I need a couple of days to rest now and recover.

Blondie - Big congrats to you. I am so happy for you.

Triny - fantastic news on Jacqui walking. Angus is still refusing to walk.

Ali - glad to hear that your neighbour had her baby. The poor thing.

I haven't had time to read much further back. I think I will catch up on the next thread.

hugs

Lara

phew! what a day! Place is tidied and ready for the cleaners in the morning though. Mum and dad came this afternoon and stayed for dinner. It was nice to spend time with them. Poor N didn't want them to leave, tears when they said goodbye and him calling for grandpa for about 10 mins after they left. sad.gif Its nice to kno0ow he likes them though!

Meljas - Bicentennial Park, Homebush. You are thinking of Centennial Park in the City. wink.gif Thanks for checking Target for me. I hold little hope that I will get the other 2 boxes but I am happy with what I got. original.gif

cclap.gif blondie, nice work! Congratulations on a great mark!

I'm glad you had a great weekend in Syd Lara! I'm sure it will be great to have DH home in the next few days. original.gif

sad.gif I can't imagine being so far from those you are close to Sharon. My brother is moving up to Qld somewhere. I don't think I will see him much if at all again. I feel a bit sad but we were never that close, I feel for mum who won't get to see my Nephew much anymore.

BBS DH is vacuuming around me laughing2.gif
alimumof3
oh i missed your mark before blondie, well done that great!

oh, we just made our first ebay sale!! surfboard went for 210!! so we are v happy with that!
I have a few things that have bids on them ending tom, then some tues night.
Hmmm , what else can I put on there? lol
ellangel
Blondie!! cclap.gif Excellent work! You are so very clever and smart.

Ali - it gets exciting when your item is nearly ending and a sale is on its way and cash in your pocket, hey? And that is when ebay gets addictive. I have just listed about 8 different clumps of toys...get rid of em I say.
So your neighbour finally had her bub! Bet you cant wait for labour story and cuddles tomorrow. Dont know about just staying overnight though. I would be kicking and screaming all the way home if I had 2 at home and bringing another with! LOL ffear.gif My OB gave me the option of staying a 6th night and I really DID think about it for a minute there!
Hope your DD has a brilliant day tomorrow and YOU have lots of energy!!

Cassi - you go girl and go to your DH!! Amazing what you can do with a time limit on things hey? Hope the carpet comes up new tomorrow.
Sad your bro is moving up this way. My sis is happy over in the USA so that is the main thing. (as she shovelled 10inches of snow off the back step this morning!! LOL) she text me.

Lara - welcome back! Saw on FB you had such a good time and how utterly sweet is your DH for driving back with you just to keep you company!! That is love! llove.gif

Triny - yay on the walking!! Yay to dresses and skirts also!! How cute...

HI KM!!

Yup had her in a dress today. Although she got a little bit caught up in it when standing but had the hang of it by the end of the day.

Lara - Welcome back.

Blondie - Congrats on your mark. That is fantastic.

Cassi - Awww poor Nathan, so very cute though.

Had a great day today until I realised when I went to get some milk that my wallet was missing. I think I left it on the roof of the car whilst DH was putting J in the car. So cards have been cancelled and new ones ordered. DAMN! Thankfully there wasn't much money in it and I did lose a giftcard. rant.gif
laraq75
Sharon - my DH gets really home sick when he is away, so any chance to spend with us is good for him. I myself would love to be by myself in sydney for a few days. He was back in Sydney by 9 o'clock tonight. The trip back was so quick.

Blondie - well done on your mark.
ellangel
naw!! that is so sweet Lara! Glad the trip back was quick. My DH feels similar when he is away for long periods also. He is meant to be maybe going to US for hailwork in our winter this year with a few colleagues as the hail over there is huge in their summer. But they all go for 2-3 months at a time...he is not so sure how he would cope for that long. I will really have to prepare myself if he were to go huh.gif ohmy.gif happy.gif
Yes, I will be MENTAL when he gets back@
beaglebaby
Blondie, fantastic mark, well done. What a fabulous week you've had original.gif

Ellangel - 2-3 months ohmy.gif Don't think I'd like that either. I was very keen to stay in hospital as long as possible too, DD and Lucas both got jaundiced and needed lights - great excuse to stay!

Lara, your DH sounds very sweet.

Ali, well done on the sales, I need to get organised and list lots of stuff. Hope your other things get good prices too. Congratulations to your friend.

Triny - bugger about your wallet sad.gif Great news about J getting so confident walking though, as Ellangel says, much more fun dressing her now!

Cassi, well done on all the work, hope the cleaners do a fantastic job for you and you're all ready to list. My brother is in Qld too, I only get to see him if he comes down to my parents place when we're visiting. It was funny having Mum here and hearing everyone else calling her all the time, I'm one of 5 kids, but I left home about 20 years ago so have drifted apart a bit.

Today has been pretty crappy. Lucas is still waking at 5am. The weather here is revolting, hot and humid and too sunny to let the kids outside to play during the day. DH has barely moved from the bed all day and feels really tired and nauseous so I had to get the kids out of the house for a while - took them to Bunnings to the playground while I bought the mouse baits. (Ones that are housed in a safe box for kids and dogs). Then I had to take Mum to the airport cry1.gif she has said she's coming back for the next cycle, I don't know how I'd have done it without her. Then I fell asleep on the lounge just before Castle finished and never got to find out who the murderer is.

Tomorrow DH has to go back to the hospital for another short infusion, I haven't worked out how we're going to do that as it's a public holiday so all the kids are home, it's at 2pm so right in everyones sleep time, and I don't think they want 3 tired grumpy kids in the chemo suite. Might have to call in one of the favours that is always being offered.

Fingers crossed Lucas sleeps in tomorrow, I'm really not a morning person!!
