Hey Rachel forgot to say hi to you the other day!! What's your DH's view on the big V? Glad all seems to be going well re bubba and u now!
Lisa Dempsey doesnt particularly like being dropped off at daycare either, but apart from 1st 2 visits or so, he's fine in a min or 2 of me leaving! It is an adjustment for little folk! And what an excuse to try and get two new pairs bathers!

Hi Twizted

I have been wondering how you were going, it was a long time since you posted on EB. By the looks of your sig it seems you've been busy
us: my mum goes home tomorrow

but I am going to Hobart in a few weeks anyway for my cousins wedding (DH and Gremlin-free! awesome) so not so sad. Uni is good but time (and brain) consuming
TPM: why haven't you stalked Blessed and got us pictures already? we need to see squishy newborns

whose child has a dummy?
a friend of mine babysat my kids today. DS had his dummy with him. if it's not on him he doesn't care other wise. but this person(she's odler and her kids have all left home) had the hide to msn me later and tel me how much fun she had with my kids and how good they were except can i get rid of the dummies. and that there'll be problems later on as a result from them and i need to address the issue now.
i feel quite insulted that she even said this. i know tonnes of people whose kids had dummies til they were even up to age 5, none of them have problems with teeth or speech or anything.

Hi - I was just gonna pop in for a quick read and a Hi and bye
but I felt like I needed to respond to Adaryln.
The hide of her!!! Doesn't she know that we are all being parents the best way we know how. We all do what works for us.
As for dummies :-
we are at the point now where dummies are for bedtime only. We kind of use it as a cue after the shower at night (with blankie bear) that it is time for bed. Tayla knows that when she wakes up in the morning she has to "spit it out" and dummy and blankie are placed in a spot "out of reach". Now that she has slept in her big girls bed 2 nights in a row, I am putting the responsibility back onto her to put dummy and blankie bear away. This morning I told her there would be no weetbix until she put the 2 back into "big girls room". She promptly did this.
Having said all that - I do have a "spare" in my handbag that I would use in public if I was getting very desperate and at my wits end (sanity saver). I think on a long car trip I would also use it, more for dh's sanity than mine. I am used to the "daily grind" where as he finds it a bit much at times.
I am interested to see what others say.

Hello Girlies, just had to reply to the dummy issue too! You may have gathered from my posts over the years that I am a rather slap dash missy. So Bells runs around with a dummy hanging out of her mouth for most of the day and one in each hand too!!! I don't really like the look of older kids having them, but her life is about to change massively so I don't feel like pushing the issue just yet. I think once she gets a bit older we can reason a bit better and just cut the tie, bribing her with Santa or something. She is still my baby so I'm happy for her to have a dummy. Adarlyn if that was my friend I'd tell her to get knotted, or at least mind her own business. And Kath, you have some great ideas!
PADS how did you get on?
LAM DH is most happy to have his gonads chopped to prevent any more kiddies

. I think he'll be relieved!
xx Rachel.

We have had dummies only when upset since E was about 2 months old, and dummies only for bed since about 4 months. It is E's job to put the dummy away (out of reach!) in the morning and after naps - if she could reach it the horrible thing would be in her mouth 24/7. The only problem is when she is trying to put Upsy Daisy 'to bed' and gets all the blankets organised but mean old mum won't get the dummy down so Upsy Daisy can 'sleep'

We tried doing the dummy in the car thing, but after a few times she realised if she kicked up a fuss she got it, so no more dummy in the car. E also has a comfort blankie and has access to that all day - and when she's not at home she only needs the blankie. MIL 'forgets' the dummy all the time and E doesn't notice, I guess she accepts that there's a different routine when she's not at home. If it gets to the point where we need to bribe her to get rid of it, we'll be giving it to Santa to take to the sick babies in the hospital
KG and Paddy: When your DHs get the snip, try not to make any eggplant jokes. They don't appreciate it

DD only ever gets the dummy for sleeping and in the car if she gets upset. She to leaves her dummy and her Beary Blue in the bed when she gets up in the morning. Works well for us.
I wouldn't let her have a dummy generally, I just don't like the look of them, and I hate how it effects the speech. But really, they are all still babies.
I am in no hurry to get rid of the dummy.

Afternoon all

.
I am having a woe is me day today. I can't find my car keys, which I am blaming on Bella, so have been stuck at home all day. NOT something I usually do and I don't do it well. DH has come home in a filthy mood because he had to come home from work to drop G off at school AND pick her up and was walking around rolling his bloody eyes looking at the mess I've already picked up 9 times today and Cyclone Bella has knocked back all over the floor. Then 'D' D comes home from school wanting to 'borrow' $10 for a bookclub thing and I said no, because she has the opportunity to earn $10 a week just by keeping her room clean and she never does, so she has cracked it royally and holed up in her room. Then I was folding washing and Bella was chucking it everywhere as I folded. Luckily for me (and them) both DD's are in their rooms in bed and DH has gone down the street to do some banking. I swear if any of them look at me sideways they will COP IT. Oh, and Bells has been wearing knickers today, wet one pair then kept taking the other pair off and came and handed me a log of poo while I was sitting on the toilet. Oh Joys. Thanks for listening xx Rachel. PS YOU BETTER HAVE LISTENED.

Ive still been popping in every once in a while just havent posted for ages. Yeah i have been busy my ex and i just didnt work out after 6 years and thought it would be better if we moved on (would have been nice if he hadnt dumped me just before Charlottes 1st bday party) but we both have new partners now and are civil and Charlotte doesnt seem to be affected by it all.

Rachel - Can I earn $10 a week by keeping my room tidy? Seems a good rate to me. I keep all the rooms tidy for free!
And your key FB updates have been very amusing. I think I read about someone on EB loosing their keys to their sub the other day. Some thread about sudocream incidents.
Lisa - How is the voice?
AFM - I have a lovely spew story for you (nobody else I know still vomits this late in their pregnancy, but it seems to be the norm for me).
I had just had my breakfast and was going for a shower. I had an inkling of the coming vomit, but wasn't really sure. I turned the shower on and threw up a tiny bit in the shower. I thought that was all. So I went over to the basin to do something and O.M.G, talk about powerful vomit. I threw up in spectacular style with such power. All over the shelf, the wall, the basin, the taps and everything in the vicinity. It went everywhere. And it kept coming and coming and coming and coming and coming. It was so awful. So I wiped the wall down (it was going to drip down behind the vanity otherwise) and the taps down (I didn't want the acid to ruin the chrome) and left all the rest for after my shower. When I got out of the shower, there was a little puddle of wee on the floor by the basin. Now, I normally pee a little when vomiting (well, my pelvic floor is shot!), but a puddle?!? Ewwwwwwww!! What is wrong with me? So I got dressed and had to clean up all this vomit and my own wee! OMG!!! I am officially the most disgusting pregnant woman ever!!

morning ladies,
Twiztid- Ellie is a huge eater, she eats all day no idea where she putas it but she does, she lots of fruit though ok in one day but bad for the other end lol.
My voice is still not back to normal. I sound like I've been out on the p*ss drinking and smoking all night and trust me I assure you I havent.
Its getting better slowly everyday but gee's its really starting to p*ss me off.
I got a repete exam today I'm pretty confident I'll pass I might even have a crack at the horrible beginners class but I'll see how I go.
Have to speak with the co-ordinator to see what sort of hour I could get after I finished training. My car is about to go and we need to get a loan for another but I dont feel confident unless I know what sort of $$ I'll be getting.
Oh well thats life must go

morning!
nothing going on here, just uni. we were supposed to have a house inspection last night so we precision planned it to minimise the amount of time E would have to make a mess

and then the RE agent never turned up

frustrating.
but i did find out yesterday i won a prize in the cancer council raffle - a bottle of wine and an eyebrow wax

i need them both!

02/03/2010, 11:35 AM
Kalita - grr to RE. Yay for the prize. That is a good prize to win!! Useful - I am a practical sort of gal.
Hope - Thanks for filling us in on Estherp - congratulations Estherp
Us - well the other week my problem was heartburn - I fixed that by giving up the diet apple and raspberry cordial and eating more icecream. This week my problem is a sore back. I don't remember having back ache with Tayla - except during labour. Any useful tips or suggestions you girls have would be appreciated. At the moment, I walk like I am a crippled - not a good look. I will NOT be going to step class tonight. With me, you know it's bad when I have cancelled exercise plans.
Hope – I’m sorry but I did have a little chuckle over your spew and wee incident. It’s just sad when our bodies start betraying us like that. No dignity in bearing children whatsoever.
Kalita – yay for the prize. I have a couple of hairy caterpillars over my eyes at the moment too. Just have to find the time to have them dealt with.
I’m very envious of these big eaters. I wish Eleanor would become one. Her breakfast consisted of one crumpet loaded with butter, and a little veg, and the hard crust cut off the bottom, and about 1/2 cup of choc milkshake. And yes, we do have a good idea of nutrition, but this is paediatrician sanctioned calorie loading so

to the childhood health nurses that make me feel so bad for feeding her fatty, sugary foods. (She does eat quite a few veg with dinner!)
Dummies – E has 6! Generally confined to bedtime, but if she can find one she will pop it in for a while, then discards it as soon as she has something to say.
DS had one until he was 3.5. The story in our house is that Santa takes your dummy once you’ve turned 3, and you get a nice big present instead. That sort of softened the blow, but he was a bit upset for the first few nights without it. Might see if we can get rid of E’s sooner as she will be 3 ¾ by the time Santa comes for it.
Must go and keep sorting and photographing kids clothing. Hoping to have a big sell off before we move.

hi all,
sorry for no postings lately. just haven't been assed with turning on the pc and it is too hard to postings from my phone

hope: sorry i had a chuckle as well
kalita: yay! I love winning things. I never enter so i can't expect to win i suppose

winelover: heat packs might help. very hard when pregnant as most the back pain drugs aren't allowed.
dummies: yup aley has them at bed time only. he never asks for them during the day and when i go to get him out of bed he throws them to the other end and yells out "bye bye di-di". yeah, not sure why either

food: nope aley isn't a very big eater. this morning he had a handful of grapes and a slurp of milk. i packed a vegemite sandwich for him as well as i thought he would be hungry and he ate it but then didn't really eat lunch (just yoghurt) but i have learnt not to worry too much about him. he is quite light (about 13kgs) but still in the realm of normal according to the charts so im just keeping an eye on him.
me: nothing much. started work last wednesday at my friends family day care. was the easiest job i have ever done and the cash is handy too

was dead tired though as we had swimming, work, and then gymbaroo. was home for an hour and then out to dinner with my girlfriends for my birthday.
better go, snot monster is trying to wake up and isn't happy

He he. I am at Uni, where I am waiting for my first ever lecture. Too funny.
I think people are looking at me funny. Who starts a uni course at 6 1/2 months pregnant? Crazy lady. Oh no, somebody just got up from a seat across from means would apparently rather stand 10 feet away. Maybe I weed myself again?

WE ARE DUMMY FREE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So happy Ellie gave up the dummy on her own and threw it in the bin so proud of her lol. 2 nights off she goes "no dummy mummy, blanky and pandy please"
Off to daycare today didnt think to save the dummy did I so poor kid dont know how she will cope blanky and pandy packed.
Also I brought her a big girl beg yesterday I just got to buy a mattress and she is set, she is growing up no longer a baby.
Better go late for scream time.

HOPE Poor luv. Kinda laughed & cried re your spew/wee incident. hugs
Winelover Mum has suffewred a bad back for ever since I can remember and she showed me some stretches to do, which i used to do before bed or else I'd ache all night sometimes I'd have to get up and do them during night too towards the end or pregnancy. I'll come back and tell u, must be off here v/soon!
Dummies No dummy kids here, my kids never took to them, I tired they just werent into them. Dempsey may have had a day or two with one in early months that was it. Dempsey has a LINUS (Aka blankie) he carries everywhere often, though gets disgarded more nowadays as to much else to discover or capture his attention!
LIB For us Santa took Rileys bottles at 3.5 Chrsitmas time to give to the babies. Santa left a lovely note for him and a pressie. Had 2 nights where he asked for it, then all was good!
Gotta go. BBL

LAM - waiting in anticipation to hear more about the stretches.
Lisa - Yay to big girls bed and being dummy free
Hope - Yes, you are a crazy thing starting uni at 61/2 months preggers!!
Toodles - heat packs!! why didn't I think of that?? I haven't used mine since labour. (now that kind of scares me)
Lib - yummo, the mention of E's brekky is making this fat pregnant lady hungry. I haven't had crumpets in ages. Tayla is a little featherweight at about 10.3kg - but she still eats like a horse.
Us - TAFE playgroup this morning. I love it. Best value for $2 and a piece of fruit. I think I really officially look preggers now - I have started wearing clothes that I wore as maternity clothes when preggers with T. As for the sore back it is a little better today. Driving to playgroup this morning I put the seat warmer on in my car to help. Glad it was a cool Autumn morning and not a scorching hot summer day otherwise I would of fried my a*se off lol

Winelover Might be hard when preggers, but lay on floor, knees bent, hands behind head looking straight up at ceiling, lift up keeping looking straight up like a sit up, but only like raising 3/4 of a foot off ground keeping back straight looking at a ceiling, not bending head, all in line, you'll kinda feel a little bend in lower belly near waist, but feel it down the back. Kinda hard to explain, do 20-25 always helps me. And then there is kneeling on all fours, back flat, and bring knee under chest, and extend back and upwards as far as possible and hold for 3- 4 seconds. Repeat each side 5 times. and another one I'll have to work on explaining.
