Key that is terrible news, not only for your friend but for anyone married with kids who can't help but think 'that could happen to me!'. Hope they either patch things up or she moves on ok without him. Bad situation to be in. Funny that you had the sixth sense going... any further word on DH's work?

Blondie I watched four corners 'Carers' show, my heart went out to those parents caring for their adult children with little assistance. It struck me as odd that the care has done the full cycle: from institutionalised state care to home care with families, and now families fighting for more state support/involvement. I didn't quite know what to make of the exceptionally pricey special schools. I couldn't help but think that for the same or less funding, pretty much full time respite care could have been provided to each family. I'm not really sure that the 'special schools with bottomless funding' were the answer to the parents or child's needs. As for moving to the UK for special education.... hmmmm. I bet there's another side to that story to be heard. WDYT?

Me I had TAFE today, medical terminology. All good stuff. Walked into town with Ivy around 4pm but still hot time of day so have been trying to tame a headache ever since. DH out of town for work so we ladies are in a bit of a holiday mood, with Ivy going to sleep in front of the telly and me sipping wine out of her sippy cup. So wrong on so many fronts...

I didn't win my text book, somebody sniped me mad.gif . Now of course I can't find it anywhere for anything like as cheap and I'm wishing I'd put in a higher maximum bid. So I stayed up until midnight for nothing. I've also woken up feeling like I'm getting a flu, very dizzy, not good. I'm meant to be meeting a couple of girls at McD's at 10 so hopefully will feel better by then. So much else I have to do today while I have the car, I can't afford to lounge around.

Ali - I hope you get the new modem, sounds like it might do the trick.

Bellygood - Interesting point about the "full circle" of disabled care. It must be so hard as a parent to decide what is best for your family in those circumstances, but unfortunately these families are being left with no choice. I can imagine wanting to move to the UK if I felt my child would have a better life there.

Sorry I was not around yesterday...A friend popped in for lunch. Had not seen her in 2 years so we had a lot of gossip to catch up on.

I thought life was meant to be less busy with 1 at school? Seems to be the opposite these past few weeks.

Blondie - bummer on the book. Dont you hate that? Hope your cold turns into nothing. You may have caught it off Triny!

Key - your poor poor friend about to face life with 3 kids on her own! Very very sad.

Will try and be in more today to be part of the conversation!!

Hi everyone
Thank you very much for the welcome. You do lots of writing and it takes a long time to read it. Magnus pushes the computer buttons so the screen is lost.
Sarnina C your cake is so nice. I make nice tortes but cannot decorate them like you do. Your daughter looks so nice in her ballet outfit. I did lots of ballet from when I was 2 until 15. Then I grew too tall. They take it very seriously in Ukraine.
BlondieBear and BellyGood What are you studying? I would love to learn something. I never got the chance after school finished that was it.
Key4 That is sad about your friend.
Ali 2.5hours is a good sleep for both kids to have at the same time.
I joined swimming and gym with Magnus. We did this in Sydney too. He really likes it and I get out of the house. The mothers have all been nice.
I am feeling a bit sick today. I am trying for another baby and am wondering if that is it? If I am already pregnant? I feel like vomiting and so tired. I am waiting for my periods next week so do not know if it is too early to be sick yet? I was not sick with Magnus until 7 weeks. I would only be 3 weeks.
