15 Year Gap
I regularly buy my Kerastase hair products from Strawberrynet, simply because they're most often the cheapest, they usually sell salon-sized bottles/tubs and delivery is free ... but I had a little crisis of conscience about buying overseas last week and thought I'd check again to see whether any Australian websites were able to compare.

During my search, I found a company called Fresh Fragrances and Cosmetics who list their head office as being in Melbourne and claim to

have the largest range of Perfumes, Cosmetics, Make Up, Skincare and Fragrances in the world, all at heavily discounted prices.
In fact, they're so sure of their 'cheap' prices that they have a 'Price Guarantee' which states:

We believe we have the most competitive prices on the internet and would be very interested if you find any other company cheaper than us. Fresh will match or beat any online or offline retailer.
.

So, after locating the items I would normally buy on their website and finding them substantially more expensive than not just Strawberrynet but also my local hair salon, I wrote to them (without much hope) to see if they would price-match. They promptly wrote back (after checking my sources) to say that they would indeed price-match Strawberrynet and reduce my 3-item order price from $208.00 to $146.60 ... a dollar cheaper than Strawberrynet and a whopping reduction of $61.40! So I ordered, but something seems fishy and I want to know what you all think:

* Firstly, the fact that they claim to already have the cheapest prices around is so completely false ... and the fact that they can just drop their prices to the extent that they did is bizaare!

* Secondly, the Recommended Retail Prices they quote on their site are substantially inflated from those quoted to me by my Salon (and the salon claims their prices are direct from Kerastase). Is it even legal to quote false RRP's?

* And thirdly, I received my package of goodies the other day ... packed identically to my Strawberrynet packages, wrapped identically to my Strawberrynet packages, even the delivery docket had been produced using the exact same software as Strawberrynet ... but the kicker is ... the package came from Hong Kong!!

What I want to know is if anybody has ever used this website before and what do you make of the issues I have with them?
Flimsy*But*Fun
I ordered some fragrance from Fresh a few weeks ago. I noticed that it was packed and wrapped exactly the same as Strawberrynet, but I didn't check where it had come from, as I just assumed it was from somewhere in Australia.

Does seem a bit strange, doesn't it?
