The girls are in need for a new hair brush. They both have hair down to their waist, one of them has thick straight hair and the other has finer wavy hair.
Any recommendations girls ?

I had a Denman hair brush for almost 10 years. They are made in the UK. It was fantastic. Really solid brush with nylon bristles with no little ball things on the end to come off. I had fine, long, wavy hair (little shorter now with kids though!). There are different types for the type of hair you have i.e. long, short etc (my one was a D4). I bought mine in the beauty section of Grace Bros at the time. I have found them on ebay, not sure if any dept. stores sell them as I couldn't find them in my local Myer. Mine died a few months ago and replaced it with one that is nowhere near as good so I am going to buy another Denman!

I have waist length, super thick hair. The only type of brush I've ever used is a long bristled, wide paddle brush. You can buy them for around $30-$40. I've found that any other type breaks the hair, and is excruiatingly painful to run through. Especially stay away from the ball ended types. You want the softer bristles - either boar bristes or a mix of boar and nylon.

I second the duboa! Use on my little girl's hair as well as mine! She has her own mini brush. Quite cheap if you shop around

PP's does the Duboa have different lenght bristles, some with the little balls on the end and some not? If so that is the one we have and it is awesome for my DD's long, thick hair.

I am with AmyCC76 and alpharuby. I have had mine since I was very young We each got one. They are simply the most beautiful brushes. I used mine for my DD now (my hair is short). My bf had hers sitting out on her bench the other day and when I pointed to it, the reaction was the same oohs and aaahs.

A Duboa without a doubt.
Asolutely agree. I have tried so many different kinds but this has been the best by far. I think Stefan salons sell them.

I have 2 x pocket Mason Pearsons and neither gets through my or my DDs hair that effectively - they are lovely comfortable brushes, and totally fine once the tangles are out, but I think I'll try what PPs have suggested: Duboa. They don't seem expensive at all, whereas the MasonPearsons cost a lot.
Oh, just remembered, years and years ago I had a large, oval-paddle sized MasonPearson and that was actually quite good. Wonder if it's just the smaller ones aren't as effective?
