Hi Ladies, I would like to join in here - hopefully new members are welcome? original.gif Some background on me: I am mummy to a gorgeous girl who I adore and miss so much on weekdays I, work full-time (as a receptionist, I was made redundant from my bookkeeping job when I returned from maternity leave at 3 mths). My DH & I are planning to TTC#2 in April to coincide with debts being paid off at the end of the year, and the maternity payment coming in 2011, then I should have at least 6 months off before returning to work p-t. I have been busy (when Im not at work) trying to get back in shape physically & emotionally after my labour (bit traumatic with emergency c section) and get my cycles into order, and have started acupuncture a couple of weeks ago. My DD loves her day-care, and we are so thankful for that. She loves to read, dance, & be tickled, she has a fast growing vocab, and tends to bump her head lots! We have had a little trouble with her hitting people lately but try to be consistent in ignoring the behaviour as that seems to be the most effective strategy with her. Sorry if TMI I will have to go back and familiarise myself with the threads...looking forward to getting to know you all original.gif

Hi Tiken, new members are very welcome! original.gif

My name is Elise, I have DS Griffin (22.08.08) and am expecting #2 in Aug again. I to had a crappy first birth ending with an emergency c section and have been advised by my doc (although he will support me either way) to have another one this time..

Good luck TTC in April! original.gif

Hey everyone,

Hey Tiken. You're more than welcome to join our group. My name is Narelle, I have 2 sons, one Cameron who is 5 and just started school, and Lachlan who is almost 18 months.

Oli - Oh wow. I didn't realise you were already so far along. Well done, how exciting.

Elise - Oh how exciting about your scan. Make sure you put some piccies on. It sucks about the c-section. I suppose at least you have some time to wrap your head around it, and it isn't going to be so much of an emergency this time. The main thing to focus on I suppose, is the baby at the end of it.

Well everything is good with us. Cam absolutely loves school which is great. Although getting him to remember to bring home all of his stuff is turning out to be a pain. He is going to cost me a fortune if he doesn't start bringing his stuff home.

Today I went and checked out the daycare I am putting Lachie into one day a week while I do Tafe, which is great. I am soooooo nervous about it. But, it is a beautiful center, has a great outside playground, and the staff are awesome.

He is going well in his big boys bed. Having his nap as I speak. The main trouble I am finding with him, is he loves his bed so much that it is hard relaxing him and stopping him from laughing so he can get to sleep. I guess it will get easier as he gets used to it.

OK everyone> I hope everyone is well.

Hi Ladies

Elise & Narelle - thanks for the warm welcome, my name is Leigh, my DH is Tim and DD is Talia original.gif

Elise - I love the pic of Griffin in your sig - what a cutie! I'm sorry that you had a difficult first birth too, its no fun at all... I had troubles bfing & was down for quite a while afterwards. They couldnt tell me why DD was distressed, but I think having an induction had a lot to do with it. I know if I had to choose between elective or high chance of another emergency I would definately choose elective. You must be excited about your scan...

Narelle - Cameron going to school must be an exciting and proud event & Lachlan in a big boy bed - all big steps original.gif I cant imagine Talia in a big bed yet, its like she is doing gymnastics in her cot some of the positions I find her in!

Oli - how was the aqua-aerobics, how long have you been going? 25 weeks, I remember that being a nice time, how is it going for you? I'm so excited to TTC#2 in April only 2 months to go.

When I went to collect Talia yesterday from day-care she had upset one of her roomies (who is crawling still) by riding him like a horse!! I felt bad, but couldnt help but laugh...apparently she does this to all the babies that crawl, I think I shouldnt have given her horsey rides! She has also been throwing tantrums regularly, & this morning I copped another smack in the face right on my glasses - ouch. She is also giving lots of cuddles which I love wub.gif

Hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii original.gif

A huge thank you to Elise and Narelle for getting our thread going again. It got so quiet there for a while. I must admit, I DID keep ph34r.gif , but just never had the time to do a proper post sad.gif

Leigh - an enormous welcome to you!!! Sorry there's not a great deal of action around here, but we ARE a lovely group of ladies and I'm sure you'll fit right in (if I do say so myself!! tongue.gif laugh.gif ). My name's Olivia, I'm 31...dh is 34...dd is 3...ds is 18 months. Look forward to getting to know you more wink.gif

Elise - that's unfortunate that it looks like you won't get your VBAC. But there IS still plenty of time, and you never know what might happen! Hey, just turn it around and look at the positives.....you won't have to worry about your pelvic muscles being shot due to pushing out 2 kiddies!!!! I had a natural birth with both my kiddies, and even though the recovery was really quick, I'm forever doing the pelvic exercises still to this day to avoid "future dramas"!!!!! BTW, sorry if I've missed this, but have you finally told the rest of your family about #2? I still haven't made any reference to it yet on FB, as I'm not sure who you've disclosed it to. As for tantrums, ds hasn't quite got the hang of them yet. He's actually only JUST started to say "no"!!! It's sooooooooooo adorable, although I'm sure I won't be thinking that for too much longer rolleyes.gif tongue.gif

Narelle - what a big boy Cam is now......"big school"!!!!!! How awesome that he's enjoying it. Is Lachie coping a little better now that his big bro has been to school a few days in a row? I can't believe Lachie's in a big bed already? So did he ask you if he could go in one? Or was he just getting too big for his cot?

Oli - you are 25 weeks already? Man, has that flown!!! Hope you are feeling well and that the rest of your pg goes smoothly. Sorry, you'll have to job my memory....did you decide to find out the sex of the baby??

Well, what an interesting few weeks we've had. A couple of Saturdays ago (when it was 40+ degrees in Sydney), we were on our boat having a great ol' time. Then that awful 90km/h wind came up and to cut a long story short, we couldn't move the boat in time and we ended up on the rocks!!!! ffear.gif oomg2.gif Luckily no one was hurt, even though the kids got a bit of a scare. We were stuck for about 10 mins until a couple of other boats around us towed us off the rocks. I can't believe we didn't damage the boat too badly considering. We need brand new propellers (which unfortunately will cost over $25,000 oomg.gif ) but it will all be covered under insurance. Not a single scratch, dent or hole anywhere else on the boat. Phew!!

Then we found out that the house across the road got broken into. It was 1 of 8 that got done in our street. The a*se holes jumped over the fence, broke the lock on the back door and walked right in WHILE THE WHOLE FAMILY SLEPT UPSTAIRS!!!!!! oomg2.gif mad.gif ffear.gif . Luckily they always put the alarm on downstairs when they go to bed, so the alarm went off and all the robbers got away with was a mobile phone. Thank goodness they have since been caught, but it's really made dh and I think about OUR security. I can't believe the robbers didn't hit our place, as we don't have any fences or gates whatsoever, so anyone can walk all the way around our house. And we back onto the bush, so it's not like anyone can see them unsure.gif . But we think that perhaps the reason they didn't try our place was because we've got very sensitive sensor lights all around the front of the house. So even trying to approach would be difficult without the front lights coming on. We are generally pretty security-conscious ppl and we never sleep with windows that are wide open around the place. We always key-lock the back door, but now we are going to key-lock the sliding door that leads from our alfresco to our kitchen, AND put the alarm on every night, AND put sensor floodlights all down the side and back of the house. Even though the thought of it going off in the middle of the night freaks me out (as immediately I'd know someone has tried to come into my house), it should be enough to deter them. That is, if they get past ALL the floodlights and break through 2 locks!!!!!!!!!!

Wow, it's been pretty full-on. But already it's February, so we're well into this year already wacko.gif . It's only 5 weeks now until we fly to Fiji to my ultimate paradise..................SO ecstatic! I keep looking at the website for the hotel nearly every day blush.gif tongue.gif

Anyway, it's getting late so I'm heading off to beddy byes. Have a lovely weekend, ladies wink.gif

Hey everyone,

Olivia - It must have been pretty scary. I really feel for them, because it will be hard to feel safe again whilst sleeping after getting broken into.
Lachie really wasn't sleeping very well in his cot anymore, and we had put Cam into a big bed at Lachie's age, so thought we would put him on it. He has already gotten used to it, so it hasn't been that bad. Just a couple of crappy days/nights.

Leigh - Lachie does that as soon as you kneel or lay on the floor he is on top of you lol. He even makes the horsey noises while jumping up and down. They are so funny. Poor Cam will be laying on the floor and will have his head jumped on. He lets Lachlan get away with anything.

Elise - Hey Chickie waves.gif

We haven't been up to much. Just enjoying the lovely rain whilst staying inside. Cam had a great week at school and is so exhausted today lol. I am really looking forward to Tuesday being over and done with and getting over the first day.

OK, better go. Have a great weekend.

Hi Ladies,

Tiken Welcome to the group! It is always nice to see some new faces in there. It must have been v. difficult being made reduntdant so soon after returning from maternity leave. I will be interested to see if there is another baby boom with the proposed paid maternity leave payments. It would certainly make things easier wouldnt it.

Elise Hows the bump going? How many weeks are you now? Is DH away at the moment?

TJ What are you studying again? I am sure that although it will be hard to send Lachie to care but he will enjoy it.

Olivia Wow that would have been scary. That is my worse fear to have someone break in when we are home esp. as it is just the utter invasion of your space isnt it.

We didnt find out what we are having...leaving it as a surprise. I dont mind what we have as long as it i s healthy. I am looking forward to it though.

Beds So what kind of beds did you get your little ones in? And how did you best do the transition? Need to look for Angus so am starting to look at it now.

Have to cut this short as have a little man climbing all over me.

Chat soon

Goodmorning girlies biggrin.gif

Oli - I am going to do the cert 3 in aged care/cert 3 in community health. I have always wanted to do nursing and this is the first year that it has been offered here, so have signed up. Going in the other day to the daycare though, I am having second thoughts. It is all paid for though, so will give it a go. I just have no idea how he will go. And I hated the sterility of the room they put them to sleep in. And some of the kids were aggressive and I saw him get whacked a couple of times. My kids aren't at all, so I will see. I could of done it by distance ed, so if I really don't like it, I will change to one of the Tafe's that offer this and keep him at home. We'll see.

Lachie is in a King Single with a side rail. We just put him in with his milk like we would of in the cot. The first couple of days were bad because he was so excited to be in it, that he just wanted to play. But it is taking about 15 minutes now. Which is great. A big move, but I am glad that we did it.

Hi all and welcome to our newcomer.

Sorry I haven't been on much...but life is constantly crazy in my house...hehehe.

Took Jade to a dance class on Saturday just to try it out, and while she had fun, we've decided to wait until she's about 2 before we try again...she's still too clingy to get much out of it!

We registered Aidan for soccer yesterday, so I'll be a soccer mum soon...hehehe. Looking forward to watching them play!

Okay, sorry to cut this short, but really must run...hi to everyone waves.gif

Good morning Ladies waves.gif

My little angel turned into a teething nightmare since last Friday, but is starting to settle again now. Waking up through the night, not wanting to go to sleep during the day or in the evenings, screaming & throwing tantrums, talk about exhausting. Poor lil Talia, it must be so painful.

Olivia, Oli & Liz thanks for the welcome original.gif

Olivia - scary about your boating mishap, thank goodness for insurance. So terrible that your neighbours were broken into (glad you didnt have to go through it), my BIL was broken into a couple of weeks ago, they took all of their electronic possessions, and cash & vouchers etc. They suspect it was someone who knows them/lives in their street, because he was home on holidays for weeks and only went out for the afternoon.

Liz - what type of dance class was it that you took Jade to? Talia loves to boogie, a dance class would be great for her. We have been taking her to swimming lessons since mid last year & she loves those, doesnt really swim yet though and hasnt worked out that you cant breathe under water - scares me sometimes.

Narelle - Its great that you are going for your dreams to study nursing. When I have some time off work Im going to think about studying too. Unfortunately in our my experience with Talia, daycare can bring on less than desirable behaviours, our DD hits, screams, throws tantrums, snatches things, gives dirty looks etc but I dont know, so many people say these are normal toddler behaviours, I just dont want to believe she could have come up with those behaviours on her own!

Oli - Thats exciting that you are keeping your baby's gender a surprise. Did you wait to find out with Angus?

Well, I better get back to work, have a great day biggrin.gif

Leigh

Hi all,

Just a quick post to answer your question Leigh...we took her to a place called Ministry of Dance in Penrith, NSW...it was a 16month to 3 year old class. Where are you located?

Liz x

Hi Liz Thanks, we are in QLD on the sunshine coast original.gif, I shall have to start looking around for a suitable class, we have a few local dance centres here, I'm inspired to make some calls this Saturday. Leigh

Hey everyone,

Leigh - Yeah, it is always tough to know what to do. He seemed to have a great day though. He was so exhausted when I picked him up that he fell asleep before I even left the car space he was asleep, and I had to carry him up to pick up Cam, carry him back and I put him to bed and he was still asleep and slept for 2 hours!!!! He looked so cute.

Liz- That is so cute. I love the little outfits that you can get for little girls dancing. I hope Aiden does well with his soccer - you will be one hot soccer Mum wink.gif

Well, we had good news today. Hubby found out that he got a job that he applied for yonks ago, so we are so happy about that. It is a massive pay rise, so very exciting.

My day at Tafe yesterday was great, just really exhausting. I think it should be a great course.
Fizzle
EHy ladies I am so not going to be able to catch up on all that I missed the past few weeks but we are now all moved and settled and they have eventually sorted out my broadband problems and my maternity leave has started so I should (DD permitting) get on a little more often.
Fizzle
DD's last day at day care today and they are throwing her a party. which reminds me - I must get my camera out and get some photos.

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY CHICKIES!!!! wub.gif

I hope you have all had a great weekend. It has been raining constantly so we have just been playing board games. Lachlan we have realised is the worst sport ever, so have been playing with Cam when he has his naps. Lach likes all the attention on himself, makes a game difficult laughing2.gif

OK everyone. Will chat later.
T.J.
Hey everyone,

Gee, it has been quiet in here. Where is everyone????

Well, Cam had his first day off school today as he has gastro. Wasn't nice being awoken last night with him standing over me needing a shower. Yuck. Plus Lachie hasn't had a good night sleep in a few nights, so I am just exhausted.

I ended up cancelling my Tafe course on Monday, as hubby and I discussed it most of the weekend and with him not being available it was our only option. I have been sad all week about having to do it, but with him not going to be in the country there is no way I can do the 60 hours of volunteer work on top of the course.

Not much else happening here. I hope everyone is OK.
Buzzie
Hi everyone.. waves.gif sure if quiet in here!

I dropped DH at the Airport today (at 6.45am mad.gif haha) and Griffin got a bit upset when he walked towards the plane - first time he has 'realised' daddy wont be back for a while, so that was pretty sad sad.gif So the 4week countdown is on again.. ahh..

Not much else happening here.. I'm about 15wks pg now and everybody knows now original.gif Still not sure whether we are finding out the sex yet though, DH doesnt want to, I do, family wants us to, but if I find out adn DH doesnt I cant/wont tell anyone so not sure if its worth knowing at all in case it slips out haha.. We'll see on the day i guess!

Hmm.. Griffin smells a bit funky, better go change him I think!

Hope you are all well xx
Maeli
Hi Ladies waves.gif

Hope that everyone is doing well biggrin.gif

We've been flat out here, typical sport & school stuff with the older kids, dental appointments in town for me, weddings... It never slows down! wacko.gif

Mr Noah is doing pretty well. Still growing like a weed. He was almost 13kgs at his last weigh-in, but he's tall too. Still breast fed, still not *quite* sleeping through the night (NEARLY!!) Talking like a two bob watch, although a lot of it is still babble he does say a few sentences here & there wink.gif

The head banging seems to have eased up, which I am incredibly thankful for. Nothing worse than watching him intentionally bang his own head & then look at me sadly & exclaim 'Ow' in a sad pained voice sad.gif

He loves to run, loves to walk & HATES being restrained. Seriously I have never had a child before whom has hated the pram so much. Hard when on a Friday night we are at basketball often from 6pm through until late. I take toys, food, anything to distract him, but most of the time he throws it at me & screams! ohmy.gif

Me, I am doing pretty well. Having a few issues with my health stuff. Pretty sure that I am anemic again, or at least borderline. My hair is coming out in handfuls, I am beyond tired all the time. Have chest pain & get exhausted from even a small amount of exercise & just want to SLEEP. I made a Dr's appointment as soon as I realised what was going on, but they couldn't get me in until next Monday.

Weight wise I can't remember if I posted or not... But I got down to my goal! biggrin.gif And then nearly down to my second goal biggrin.gif Feeling very good about finally getting it all off. Starting weight was 87kgs & I have got down to 68.4kgs biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif Now just to maintain it wink.gif

Hope that all the other Mama's & babes are doing well wink.gif
