I got a mimco bag in June as a gift. It broke in under 4 months, so 6 weeks without a bag and they replaced it with a brand new one in a different design. I have had it for under 2 weeks and it has broken aswell!!! Now both bags were $490 so they were not cheap and they have done this!
Should I just get a refund or persist with them

Never had this happen, and I have a number of friends with them and they have all had them for at least a couple of years.
Only propblem one friend has was with a silver bag and some of the silver came off.
I would try once more.

No. I have had one for a couple of years now. I don't use it every day now, but I did in the past and it is fine.

Doesn't sound right to me....I've had mine for over 2 yrs now and it's always way overloaded

- still going strong....I'd definiately go back again for a refund/exchange.

Thanks ladies for your replies. Ended up going back and they gave me about 60% off the price of it and it is now fixed so lets hope it stays. It took me forever to save for it and I do love my Mimco

I used to do out-work for MIMCO but it dried up after they moved all their manufacturing to China... so ah... I wouldn't be that shocked that it broke.

my mimco bag had plaited straps which pretty much fell apart. i guess it depends on the style. something flimsy, no matter what brand, would break. mimco are usually chunky! i'd get another one. i'd be suprised if it happened a third time.

I've had Orotons break sooner than my Mimco bags. I'm pretty rough with my bags and they have never disappointed me. I'm glad you had a great outcome.

I've had a few mimco bags but years ago, they were tough, excellent leather and great bargains at sales. I don't go near them now, too priceyand no great bargains to be found.
