Can they be taken together?
ajpj09
yes!!

neurofen is anti inflamatory and panadol is something totally different. My sister is a dr and highly reccommends it- even ok to give kids panadol and neurofen

works a treat original.gif

is panadeine fort classed as panadol?

I have a massive earache and need something before i go to the drs tomorrow sad.gif
anotherid
Yes that is ok.

Just don't take Panadeine Forte and Nurofen Plus together as they both have Codeine and would be too much together.
ajpj09
yup its the same as panadol. IT will help you sleep too original.gif

You'll be fine hun. Hope you feel better soon.

Each Panadeine Forte tablet has 500mg of Paracetamol and 30mg of Codeine.

Panadol has 500mg of Paracetamol and nothing else.

DO NOT take panadol and panadeine forte together or less then 4 hours apart, to a max off 8 tablets a day.

NO! Panadol and Panadeine Forte are not the same! Panadeine Forte should only ever be prescibed by a Dr. whilst panadol is just over the counter.

I took 2 nurofen at 8pm, they did nothing

I just took 2 panadeine fort then... and washing it down with chocolate??
I do want to wake up tomorrow huh.gif

Well, not quite true. They both contain Paracetemol so they should never be taken together. Panadeine also contains codeine; and they can be bought over the chemist counter; Panadeine Forte contains a higher dose of codeine and is prescribed.

Nurofen and Panadol can be taken together, Nurofen and Panadeine can be taken together, Nurfoen and Panadeine Forte (f prescribed) can be taken together but Nurofen Plus should never be taken with Panadeine. And Panadol and Panadeine should never be taken together.

Not entirely true either..........You can take 1 Panadol and 1 Panadeine, just not more than 1000mg paracetamol in total at once. tongue.gif (Sorry! I couldn't resist! wink.gif )

Gangnam Style
I have two words for the OP: consta and pation.

Ok, yes, 1 Panadol and 1 Panadeine is ok! tongue.gif Is 1000mg ok though? I thought you couldnt exceed 8 tablets in 24 hours, which is around 1600mg (200mg in each?) Getting a little shaky on the numbers here but 1000mg sounds a little high!

Ok, just checked. 2 normal panadol = 1000mg!

Yep, the constipation is a nasty little trade off for the extra pain relief. Prune juice is good though.
mad madam mim
ok i am just getting over an ear infection, its fine to take aslong as it wasnt nurofen plus that you took.

What I was saying was in regards to this

'yup its the same as panadol.'

I was saying they are different. Yes they have both have paracetamol in them, but they are very different classes of drugs.
