Hi everyone,
My daughter is 21 months and I need to get her onto cow's milk. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how i can introduce it to her in the bottle with the formula. A doctor told me to introduce a bit at a time.

All I did with both my girls was to start off with 1/4 cows milk in their bottles.

I gradually increased the amount by a quarter every 4 or 5 days until they were only having cows milk. It did't upset them. They hardly noticed original.gif

I do it over the period of a whole tin. Start by reducing one scoop of formula for 4-5 days, and keep reducing that way. Once the tin is finished then its CM only from then. Obviously if there is a reaction then it may take a little longer.

I had been told by friends to mix with formula to introduce over time, however my ECHN suggested giving 1 full bottle of cows milk each day for a couple of days, so you can see a clear reaction to the cows milk if the child has an allergy or intolerance.

Has worked for us. Have simply increased the number of cows milk bottles each few days and am almost there!

Hi, i didnt use formula but when we moved onto cows milk i started with one third milk and two thirds water. Over two months i gradually increased the amount of milk to one half then full cows milk. He had already been having it in cereal and there was no reaction. I had no issues with him and he took it straight away. Hth

Hi, my baby girl is called Lucy Claire too!! original.gif

She is also not a fan of drinking cows milk - I have been offering it to her in a sippy cup, and she has slowly started taking a few sips.

I make her porridge in the morning with all milk, and out lots of cheese in her food etc. I also give her a big yoghurt before bed with a drink of water. So yeah I think the best way is to mix it with waterever she drinks now and just increase the amount, but if she doesn't like it then there are other ways to get her milk, or dairy into her!
