Hi

My daughter was placed into a halo neck brace almost 3 weeks ago, and I desperately need some ideas for clothes for her to wear. She is 9 years old and will be returning to school soon. The brace is the type where there is a ring around the head and screws into the skull with rods coming down to a body brace. She will be in this brace for almost a year due to her need to have multiple operations to stabilise her neck.

I live near Brisbane, but I would appreciate any websites, photos, patterns, proto-types etc or suggestions of dressmakers etc that i could utilise to either make or modify clothing for her. The only one I have found so far was based in the USA. Or even suggestions where I could buy cheaper shirts, jumpers etc that won't cost the earth so when I cut them up to modify them around a brace I am not taking out a second mortgage!

My mom is in a halo brace currently and I have been fixing her clothes for her. I have been buying inexpensive sweatshirts & cutting and sewing them.

Have you found a place to get clothes for your daughter?

How old is your daughter and about what size clothing does she wear?
