Yep, my twins are turning one on Thursday (where did THAT year go
). I am sad but excited- the first year is the hardest.....right
?

Tilly I absolutely loved the second year. It was so bloody entertaining. They are an abundance of entertainment and energy.
I don't actually remember a lot of the first year. I am thinking when I'm around 50 I will go to do something really mundane and DH will find me 3 hours later sobbing in the fetal position as all the repressed memories come flooding back.

We are but just with the 6 of us. I took my older girls shopping for party stuff and they thought it was fantastic. When the twins go down for their sleep I will get the older ones to "help" me blow up balloons etc have cake and some party food. Their "big" sister turns 3, 5 days later and we are having a big party at a play centre so Im sure they will have lots of fun then.
Did you go all out doing the first birthday thing?

Oh yeah. Their actual birthday will be a bit of a non-event as I am working during the day (they will be at daycare) and DH is on an evening shift so we will only get an hour or so together between the time I get home from work and when he leaves
. We are doing the whole massive OTT birthday party on the weekend though- complete with bouncy castle, special "1" T-shirts, "birthday boy/girl ribbons, helium balloons, two cakes, party food and about 40 guests (OMG what were we thinking
!).

There are quite a few of us with our children having birthdays over the next few weeks. We're about 2.5 weeks away. I'm looking forward to the 2's too. I already like how responsive they're getting - I'm not looking forward to tantrums though.
Like Tilly, we've gone OTT with the party thing!
