Hi there

well we have our new car..a kia carnival which I'm loving but we can't agree where to put the baby capsules as we already have a toddler who is sitting behind the passenger seat and we don't know if she'll like being in the back row when the twins are here

help us...where did you position your capsules

Corrie:)

Hi Corrie, i am still waiting for my twins to arrive, and have no other experience with children of my own but I am going to attempt a suggestion.

Could you move Keira into the back before your babies arrive. This way she would have time to adjust before the babies and may not blame them for it. You could make it seem really fun to be in the very back, a bit like being in the top bunk.

I don't know, it's probably a dumb idea. Hopefully some of the experienced twin mums might have better ideas. Good luck with it.

Sorry, we don't have a big car like that. We just had a sedan and the capsules were behind the passenger and drivers seats. It was good as I could still reach them both if/when I needed to.

Hi. Congrats on your expecting twins!!

We don't have a people mover either, but when we were expecting our twins, we moved DS out of the baby seat that was on the drivers side, and put him in a maxi rider in the middle. We then had the baby capsules behind the driver and passenger seats.

DS was 3 when the girls arrived, so a bit older than yours, but he would happily crawl under the baby capsules and into his seat in the middle. We called it a "big boy seat", so it was exciting for him. We also did this a couple of months before the girls arrived, so he didn't feel like the new babies were pushing him out.

With your car, I think it would be easier to have the babies in the second row, because it will be easier getting them in and out. You DD will quickly adapt to being the "big girl" in the back row! laughing2.gif Maybe give her a trial run in the back and see how she likes it. Make a game of it, and tell her how special and lucky she is to be able to sit back there.

Good luck with it, and also your new arrivals when they come. original.gif

HI Corrie,

I too have a kia carnival and i placed the capsules behind the drivers/passenger seats. We also have a 7 year old so it wasn't a big deal for her to sit in the back.

However i have a friend who has triplets and she put the cars seat in the very back and put the boys in via the boot. She swears by it so maybe get one of you toddlers dolls and try both and she which suits you better. The only down fall i can see to putting them in the back is that you would have to go over the pram as once the capsules and sibling is in there with the pram there really is a lot of usless space.

I can't wait till the carseats are turned around it will make things so much easier.

Hope this helps

Hi Corrie,
We have the hyundai imax and I am planning on twins going behind driver/passenger and Mason in middle. Keira is a bit bigger but I would put her in the middle as she may be able to manage a job like put the dummy back in which is very handy. I am lucky as even the big boys in the back will be able to reach over to return dummies and we have been teaching Mason to climb in and get into his car seat. By the time the twins come I will be able to get them in and only have to do uo his straps. We had a unity baby capsule and bought another to hopefully make all the in and out of the car easier.

We also bought a Kia Carnival when we were expecting our 1st set of twins. Our DS was 2 and still in a car seat. We put the capsules behind the driver and passenger. We put DS1 in the very rear and took out the other seat so it was easy for us to climb in to strap him in, then put the pram and all the other crap you have to carry in.

rach lucky you having the 3 seats in the middle row...we have 2 in middle row and 3 in the back and I'm worried what keira will do if she sat in the middle of the babies!!!!

thanks again!
Corrie:)

We had 4 under 4 when our twins arrived and also have the Kia Carnival.

Our twins went behind the passenger and drivers seat and our kids used to climb in the front seat and through the aisle to their seats and DH or I would lean through the side doors to click them in.

DD#1 (4.5) now can click Eva in and then click herself in. And before anybody asks, we check Eva's belt safety every single time, we don't just leave her safety to a 4 year old grin.gif
