Hi, I'm 38 weeks with twins and I have a numb feeling on my tummy - do you think this is normal? Is it because of the stretching? The numb feeling is basically along the centre of my tummy (not my sides)... has anyone else experienced this?

Thanks

I was 38 weeks with my boys when I had my caesarian and parts of my tummy were numb as well...I presumed from the stretching.
Mostly around and just below my belly button...or what was once a belly button!!!!

Hope this helps!

I was also had a caesar at 38 weeks and had the same numb feeling you described while I was pregnant!! I still dont have the feeling back just below my belly button!! Not sure if this is from the stretching or perhaps the caesar!! Not long to go now before you get to meet your new little babies

I also had this. Just below my belly button there was a fist sized area that was completely numb for about 4 wks prior to delivery at 34wks.

It's returned to normal now - I think it's just the incredible amount of stretching of the superficial nerves.

I have this too! I asked my ob about it yesterday and she said, like everyone else, it's from the extreme stretching of the nerves. I am 35 weeks and have had it for about 2 weeks.

I have a baseball size dark patch around my ugly bellybutton which I think is a separation of the stomach muscles and this is where I am numb.

It's a pity the itch didn't go away with the feeling!

Is the itch you're talking about PUPPS T&K?
Cause if it is, it'll go away too! After the bubs are due...

doubleornothing, no I don't have a rash or anything. Just itchy, with quite a few stretchmarks which are also very itchy.
Not long to go though biggrin.gif

I had this too!

I thought it was because I simply didn't have enough nerves to cover the enormous surface area of my multiple girth blush.gif laughing2.gif

Yep me too. My bump was frequently exposed under the belly button and I didn't know because I couldn't see it or feel it blush.gif.

Thx ladies... I feel like it's normal now :-)

I still can't believe how much I've stretched!
