Did you girls hear on the news about the 4yr old girl bashed by her stepfather and died as a result of her injuries?

He has been remanded in custody and charged with murder but I am certain this is of little comfort for the other family members.

I am absolutely appalled. I just cannot for the life of me imagine the horror that this little girl faced in her last minutes alive.

And i cannot imagine why something like this happens.

I am so saddened by incidents like this and I am just so angry. That poor little girl.

May her soul shine eternally and may he rot in hell and get everything that is coming to him.

Yep I heard this on the local news update last night. Dh and I just couldn't belive it sad.gif It made us both feel so sick. Poor poor little bubba, to experience such hatred and violence and such a pure, innocent age!

Nes the report I heard said that she had been admitted to hospital on Saturday night and had passed away Monday morning, due to the severity of her injuries.

Either way its still disgusting!!!

Also read yesterday about the 18 year old girl who was badly beaten, tied and then doused in petrol and set on fire with the family home, I think it was Sydney. It happened a week or so ago but I only heard about it now.

For awhile I had chosen to prefer to bury my head in the sand and know nothing of the news around me as it only seems to end up becoming so very depressing with horrible news. I know its a pathetic way out but I am seriously getting too scared to hear the news now or pick the paper up!

I get a knot in my stomach whenever I read/hear about something like that and wonder what on earth could have prevoked such an attack
We all know how trying kids can be (and mine are only 1) but I can't ever imagine them ever being able to push THAT much.

He will go to prison and get what is coming to him!

Man 39, charged with murder as four-year-old dies of injuries
DMcLennan
Tuesday, 29 November 2005

A 39-year-old man was charged with the murder of a four-year-old girl yesterday after she died of her injuries.
Darren Lee Cassidy, of no fixed address, appeared in the ACT Magistrates Court briefly, charged with murdering Trinaty Monique Howarth. He has also been charged with assaulting her mother, Alicia Wilson. He did not enter a plea to either charge.

It is not known whether Cassidy is related to his alleged victim, although the matter was adjourned to the family violence list, indicating he was likely at least in a relationship with Ms Wilson.

Cassidy was initially charged with assaulting the girl at about 10pm on Saturday, although the charge was upgraded after Trinaty died.

An ACT Policing spokes-woman said the little girl had spent almost two days in hospital before losing her fight for life yesterday morning - at about the same time Cassidy first appeared in court.

This is so heart breaking, I too have developed some sort of fear of news papers and news programs because of this sort of thing.

How horrible that in a time of devestating natural disasters and all the 'bird flu' like illnesses and epidemics, people still hurt those closest to them, and those in need of the most love and care.

It scares me to think that through all the protecting we do for our children is going to waste because of sick people like him.

However, as untactful as it is, i find comfort knowing that the fathers in prison, who would love to see their little girls again, will probably be just as disgusted, lets all hope they take on 'eye for an eye'

What an awful society we live in when even our most treasured people (children) are not safe even in their own homes!
DH and I made the conscious decision about 2 years ago that our kids were not to watch the news due to terrorism voilence and garphic scenes - this case however is far more disturbing.
I sincerely hope he gets what's coming to him jail!!

My heart is shredded to the core after hearing of this, and like many of you,I'm at the point where I can't emotionally 'cope' with it all, seriously,as someone mentioned, natural disasters are so bad/sad,accidents are tragically sad too,but this is just too much to bear!!!! A deliberate act of the most extreme cruelty is to do something like this to an innocent sweet little child.A sweet little child who entrusts her world around her for her safety and security, but when this is breached to the extreme, what is a poor child left with?(if they survive) What faith in anything?? How can someone devalue a human life like that??? And a little girl for god's sake?? Now I'm a blithering mess!! The thought of wehat that poor little possum went through just rips my heart open, how can anyone do that??? Torture the b*st*rd!! Fighting for her little life in hospital with severe injuries, those poor nurses, her Mum etc. It's NOT fair her life was taken,he had NO right to take it from her,GOD I hope he gets what he deserves!!!!!!!!!
