Argh. Just recovering from riding the porcelain bus all night and i reckon its something i've eaten. I had takeaway lunch from the Indian restaurant in Tuggeranong on Thursday.
The place was unusually packed and looked like a business function. I would be interested to know if it happened to anyone else, but hope it didnt.

edited my shocking spelling

If it was lunch on Thursday I'm pretty sure it would have made itself heard before last night?

I hope it's all over and done with and you can get some rest/sleep today.

There is a decent round of gastro doing the rounds also. Rather revolting.

I hope you feel well soon.

I had a gastro bug a couple of weeks ago (for the first time ever) - I thought it was food poisoning but it turned out to be a bug - I managed to not spread it to anyone else in the family thank goodness - was sick for 3 days
Susana
Sorry to hear you're not well Han.

I think Steph is correct though. Food poisoning usually shows itself about 6 hours after you eat something. The few times I've had it I'v e usually been sick by the next morning or during the night cry1.gif

Hope you recover quickly wub.gif

Gastro's definately doing the rounds.

DH had it last weekend.

I know of lots of others who've had it also, including a little 5 year old girl just around the corner from you who's been in and out of hospital. (Her younger brother and sister haven't had it though, which is rather weird).

Hope your feeling better, and if you need milk or bread medicine or anything delivered to your doorstep please don't hesitate to ask. biggrin.gif

I was pretty sure what i had was food poisoning. I havent had any dihorrea or aches and pains etc. I also can think of something dodgy that i ate, but it could be a co-incidence really.

I looked it up when i started feeling nauseous the next day, and actually, the salmonella incubation period (the time between eating and seeing symptoms is)6 – 72 hours, usually 12-36 hours, its not simply a certain time frame for everyone.

I even thought to myself while eating it, i hope i dont get sick from this, and didnt think about it again until the next day when i felt sick.

Thank you so much Iris for your very kind offer, and im also very sorry to hear about the little one who is sick too, and hope you're all feeling better soon.

Ah so if it's really dodgy you're sick within 6 hours. That makes sense though as sometimes it takes it awhile longer than 6 hours.

One time I had food poisoning I got sick the following afternoon at 4pm, which would have been 22 hours later. No one else got sick btw, just me sad.gif

I find the vomiting can start alot earlier than the diorhea, as you would expect. The body starts digesting and thinks this isn't so good, and tried to expel what it can by vomiting, but too late for some of it, which had passed into your bowels and diorrhea then begins. And it often last longer than the vomiting too... but after a couple of bad episodes of gastro/ food poisoing (including salmonella in Ireland) if I am seriously ill (or PG like I was last time), I don't hesitate in getting to the A&E for IVT and antiemetics and antispasmodics. I realise there are alot of things going in in Emergency dept's, but getting a litre or two into you means you can recover alot quicker and only need a few hours there and they send you home. And I like to have Gatorade/ Hydrolyte's on hand at home, for such occastions, because you often can't go buy some (middle of the night, or are too sick to move far!) And I noticed they sell Buscopan without script these days??

Anyways, PP, hope you are feeling better now... unfortunately with food poisoning, I don't know if reporting it helps, as they can't prove where you really did pick it up, and that it could have been gastro instead. Either way, hope you recover OK and at least if it was food poisoning, your family won't get it... good luck!

I guess you will find out if anyone else gets sick. tongue.gif

Having one case of gastro in the house without everyone else getting it is quite doable.

I had a gastro and kept it to my self (isolated myself and LOTS of hand washing, no kisses for a while).
Hope you are feeling better now princess pink original.gif

I hope you are feeling better now. Gastro and food poisoning both suck and usually it's pretty hard to work out which it is you actually have without testing poo or the actual food you have eaten.
