i heard it as a little girls name tonight and was wondering how common it is as i hadnt heard it before
outofmymind
I actually haven't heard it as a name. Don't know if I like it though.

I have unfortunately heard it as a name a few times. I think it is awful to be honest.

It's pretty uncommon i think it's a sweet name.
clumpy
Horrid. It's not a name. It's a place, and a print (and one that shouldn't have survived the 70s at that). Next we'll have people calling their kids Houndstooth and Plaid.

But it does allow me to post one of my favourite ever "crazies on the interwebs" sites: http://www.demonbuster.com/paisley.html Apparently paisley is the devil's fabric.

I know a Paisley. Her mum is a member here on EB. tongue.gif

I think the name is quite pretty and most difinately suits the little girl. (and I am not just saying that cos her mumma could be reading this tongue.gif )

I have heard/read of another child with the name also. I believe it is a bit more "usual" in America.

I think we need to accept that not every random word is going to be suitable as a name. *shudder*

And what it is worth, I quite like paisley as a fabric! tongue.gif

Her Paisley is a gorgeous kid, and the name really suits her. wub.gif

I don't think she'll mind me saying this, but they did consider Ainsley, but Paisley was her in utero name and it kinda stuck.
