Hi Guys,
I have been bitten with the cooking bug and am looking for 2 x books I used to cook with, They have since been misplaced or "put somewhere safe".

If anyone out there has these books, could I please borrow them and scan my fave recipes? They are

Womens' Weekly Cakes and Slices (grey cover with glass shelves with cake on them, circ.1970-80's)
and
Womens' Weekly Biscuits (around the same time as the other book brown cover with lighter brown writing)

I have only managed to locate one of these on ebay that is going for $20 (not sure it was worth that much brand new original.gif )

More then happy to pay postage both way, just REALLY craving Peanut Butter crinkle biscuits and Custard Tea Cakes original.gif

Thanks in advance
Lauren

Have you tried Alibris books - http://www.alibris.com/ They can be very useful for locating out of print texts.

I have one of the cookbooks which is THE BIG BOOK OF BEAUTIFU BISCUITS if you want to borrow it I will need to have it back before christmas as we will be leaving Canberra for 2 years. Just send me a PM and let me know if you want it and we can organise a time for you to pick up from me. I live in Ngunnawal.

Hi Lauren,

I don't have either of those books BUT one that I am holding here might have some of the recipes you're after. It's the Family Circle Cooking A Commonsense Guide and it's got a pretty big cakes and biscuits section. One recipe that might be close to what you want is for Peanut Butter Biscuits. There are heaps of recipes (got me thinking that I might try out one or more this afternoon if DS sleeps long enough) so hopefully there are some there that would tempt you.

PM if you're interested - I'm southside (Weston Creek).

Edited to add:
Or you could go to the Australian Women's Weekly website as they have a recipe search facility - http://aww.ninemsn.com.au/recipesearchresu...nkle%20Biscuits
Hope this helps.

Cheers,
Helen.
