Does anyone know if you can get a 3D/4D ultrasound done in Canberra? If so, where? Has anyone had one done? Do I need a referral? How much are they? Are they good for determining gender? I am not overly confident in what the sonographer told us at our 19wk ultrasound and would like to have it confirmed.

Any info is much appreciated.

I think that they are only done when medically warranted, as the machine in the fetal medicine unit.
There is a private company in Sydney that does them for "memory" purposes, without referral etc - they may be worth checking out

This is the place in Sydney. My sister had hers done there and the service was excellent. You don't need a referral, they put it on DVD for you and everything (depending on the package you chose). They do the 4D scan which is better than 3D...

Apparently NCDI in tuggeranong plan to bring in a 3D machine sometime in the not too distant future (referral needed) but I am not sure when that will become available.
