My DD is nearly 3 and hasn't napped in over 5 month. I am planning her birthday party and have no idea what is the best time to have it. I don't want to have it when most 3 year olds are having their nap. The place where I am holding the party has designated times of 10am, 12pm or 2pm. We are providing pies, chips etc but instead of going for meal times I thought it would be best to try and work around the nap time.
So what time does your 3 year old start their nap? And, how long usually is the nap?

My DS gave up his nap a long time ago but FWIW I would pick the 10am slot. The kids are fresher and the ones that do have a nap can have one after the party.
My friends children tend to sleep from around 12-1pm on.

I would aim for the 10am slot, DS is 3.5yrs old and has his nap between 12-1 for 2 hours

Definately the 10am time.
My almost 3 year old has a nap from 1pm onwards. I'd say that even the kids who don't have a nap would tend to get more tired from around lunchtime anyway.

yep if i was coming i'd prefer the 10am slot. My 3 and a bit year old hasn't had a regular nap time since she was just under 2 bu she is definitely more perky in the morning.

Definitely 10am. My 3 year old rarely naps (other than at daycare) but I do try and enforce "quiet time" at home from 12-ish for an hour or so.

Definitely 10am.
My 3 year old sleeps from 12 - 2 most days.

Ditto! 10am for sure. Mine sleeps around 1pm most days still. Atm is missing a few naps here and there like yesterday and today.

People have 3 year olds that nap?!
DS dropped his just after he turned 2 so it wouldn't matter to me what time you made it, but yes morning or lunch would make sense.

I would definately prefer the 10am time.
My almost 3 year old DD sleeps 1.30pm to 3.30pm each day.

10am would be best I think. My boy is most active during the morning. Jack sleeps from around 1pm till almost 4pm. He was doing shorter naps for a while but in the last few months - well maybe all this year now I think about it - he has slept for about three hours. Or at least is in his room for that long - I think he plays for a bit before nodding off.

I'd too go with a 10 am time slot too.
Not just with the 3 yr olds being fresher but for any younger siblings that will come with parents as well. Last thing you want is parents having to make the 3 yr olds go as their siblings are getting too grotty and need a nap
