Took Blade to the doctor as when he woke his temp went up. He might have a urniary tract infection as the doctor cant find any other reason for a temp. I am having trouble getting the bag on his bits........to catch the wee.
He has become quite lethargic aswell

Just an update on Blade.
As i said he might have a UTI. He was sent home with NO antibiotics and he has gotten heaps worse over the afternoon. His tempis high and he is floppy and lethargic. I think that we may have to go to the hospital. The results wont be back until wednesday, i cant leave him like this until then. And he has stopped drinking too.

just my opinion and I don't want to be an alarmist
BUT
I would take him to the hospital - my DD had a similar sounding thing last year just before XMAS, GP's and pharmasists over a 2 week period told us she was just sick there was nothing wrong. She was lethargic, dehydrated and had a temp. We eventually got sick of being told there was nothing wrong and took her to the hospital. She had an UTI that was so bad she was in hospital for a week on a drip and it damaged her kidneys because it was not caught fast enough.
At the hospital once they have a urine sample they can tell in an hour if there is the possibilty of an UTI.
And a couple of hours at the hospital is worth it for his health and your peace of mind.
Hope he is alright and you get to the bottom of the problem.

Oh Gee! Thanks for that.
He is asleep at the moment but when he wakes i will see how he is.
He had a temp last week but it went away. Now its back and worse! I have to wait until wednesday for results and i was not given any medication for him until then????
I will see what DH thinks when we get home. Sitting at the hospital for a couple of hours wont bother me, its just the docotrs that think im an over reacting mother that does!
I have never seen him this sick before so better to be safe than sorry i might take him there when he wakes.
The doctor i did see was VERY old and seemed a little baffled to what was going on.

bec i hope he is alright you are probally at the hospital already but if not and you do go but you have a gut instinck make them act on it blake had celuitious last winter it is an infection in the blood and the first time that i took him as usual there is nothing wrong and i had a gut instinck that there was so took him back the next day new DR transfered straight away to canberra hospital where he was admitted for 1 week while he forght this infection that had been there for "sometime" they could not give me an exact time frame but it did not cure over night.
his symptons were the same as blades but he had a rash on his face where the infection was running through his blood
hope he is alright and it is a quick pick up let us know how you go.

Hi,
I gave Blade panadol at 3.30pm and he started to perk up at about 4.30pm. So we stayed home for a bit longer. I am trying to avoid the hospital as much as i can.
He is asleep now but his temp has gone back up again. If there is no improvement by the morning i will be up there first thing.
He did eat dinner tonight and drink two bottles. So thats great.

That is really good you could book him into the GP just to see if there is anything that they can see save the hospital visit is it peaks again
