Okay, I started a thread earlier this week asking how many to invite to my 4yo DD's party. Well I've decided to simply take a cake to playgroup so she can have a little celebration with her peers, they sing happy birthday etc. Then a few days later do a little party with just me, DH her big brother and both sets of Grndparents. Maybe an Uncle / Aunt with her teenage neice / nephew. This is not really the party I wanted for her but as she has too few special friends at this stage and inviting the whole playgroup to a party was going to be too expensive this is what I've decided.
So what can I do to make this family party day exciting for her? It's silly playing party games with just 2 kids - her and her brother. I'm not sure what I can do. Food is easy, it's the entertainment I'm worried about. Or do you think just having family and a special cake will be enough for a 4yo? Thanks again.

i would just get her a special outfit to dress up in, i'm sure that would be enough!

Last year my family and I went out to kidcity for my daughters birthday - to make her feel special and they were happy for us to take a birthday cake there even though we had not booked a party - just ring them before hand and organise it.

I think the fact that it is her birthday will be special enough! For my DD (who is 4 too) a party means a cake and getting to wear a special dress lol.
~4's enough 4 me~
Hi

You could take her out to lunch or dinner at somewhere like the Southern Cross club.

Tuggeranong has tunz of fun (room full of games and a little playground as well). Its sits next to the bistro.

There is also Henry's kids club at the woden club.
