Well as the weeks count down to the bith of our little boy, DH and I keep on saying 'we should probably think of a name'.

I really don't think that it was this hard with names for DD but we seem to have hit a rut this time - before we found out we were having a boy I was armed with girls names that I adored but not boys namnes.

So I am out for inspiration, I like unusual, strong names. Love gaelic names.

Here are the parameters; they can't start with a T or end in 'a' or 'er' (all these names sound real funny with our last name).

DD's name is Eylee Rhode (first name pron. like Kylie without the 'k').

So far DH has come up with Akin (but that reminds me of the American Idol guy - Clay).

I have a real short list of Gannon. But can't seem to move on from this and we can't seem to agree either.

We like the name Thor for a middle name (and it reflects our style with DD's middle name).

Your help and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Dee

Just a couple of gaelic boys names that I like and think are strong and masculine

Devlin - meaning fierce bravery
Donovan - meaning dark warrior
Eamnonn - meaning protector
Fagan - meaning the little firey one
Ferris - meaning the rock
Jaryn - meaning jar (don't like the meaning, love the name)
Keegan - meaning firey and determined
Kynan - meaning wise and intelligent
Liam - meaning determined guardian
Padraig - meaning noble (went to school with one, gorgeous)
Phelan - meaning brave as a wolf
Rafferty - meaning prosperous
Reilly wub.gif (see sig) - meaning valiant
Rian - meaning little king
Sloan - meaning warrior

I like your pick of Gannon also. I like Gaelic names, I have an irish background and I married a Scotsman so kinda like the history!!

Good luck!!

Me - 30
DH - 31
DD - Chloe Elizabeth - 4 (8/11/03)
DS - Reilly William Annan - 2 (1/8/05)

Thanks for your help ladies.

Cloesmum - Some lovely suggestions. I don't really have any ties to the Gaels (although my mum is a pom). DH's last name is french (although DH is far from it).

Rose gardener - Thanks for the suggestions, I absolutely love Gawain. And Achilles is lovely too - although I don't know if I could convince DH (although he likes the name I don't know if he would accept calling our son that) but it is worth another try me thinks.

Thanks again ladies I will put them forward to the minister of war and finance laughing2.gif .

Always open to more suggestions!!!!
