I was wondering if anyone knew if it cost to change your name on your licence? ( just been married)
Also do you have to get your photo taken again.

Shouldn't have to pay to change your licence (don't think I did) but you will need to pay $30 for your "official" wedding certificate from the register of births, deaths & marriages.
The fancy one you sign on the day is not longer ok to use as so many people forge them.

You will need to get a legal wedding certificate from the ACT Births, Deaths and Marriages Office (or whatever it's called). Take this with your driver's licence to the Shopfront and ask for a new licence with your new surname on it. Yes you will have your photo taken again. OR you could do what I did ... wait for it to come up for renewal and do the name change and new photo then.
Cheers,
Helen.

Did you get the special one with the rings or something in the background?
If so, apparently they aren't acceptable.
(I also got married in NSW so maybe it's cheaper there but it's been 2.5 years so I'm guessing it's just gone up heaps)!!

I have changed my name now at a few places and what a hassle it has been. There is always something that they are not sure about.
Anyway. Thanks heaps.
