Dh and I are thinking about taking a quick trip to sydney and this time we can't stay with family or friends so we need some reasonably priced accommodation for us, dd (2 and half years) and ds (10 months). We definitely will need someplace with 2 bedrooms and not too far out of the CBD or eastern suburbs/inner west. Any suggestions?

As a former Eastern Suburbs resident I seem to recall that there was very reasonable accomodation at a place in Carr Street, Coogee. I'll see if I can track down the name for you as many friends of mine have used this place in the past. I'll be back soon with the name soon.

Another thought I had was if you check out some of the websites that do accomodation on the cheap if you book with little notice (I think up to two weeks beforehand) ... like www.lastminute.com.au or www.needitnow.com.au or www.ratestogo.com.au or www.wotif.com.au .......

I don't know what your budget is, but I've heard the Mercure apartments at Darling Harbour are great for families. We stay with family, but when 'our' room was booked by another family member a few years ago, got a great deal with adjoining suites at the Stamford North Ryde, which we all enjoyed.
