Be as ruthless as you like- I can assure I won't get torn up about it tongue.gif

I like classic girls names, and strong boys names. Nothing to popular or too out-there either.

GIRLS
Lily
Eliza
Charlotte
Jasmine
Winter- probably MN not FN

BOYS- Middle name will be Anzac
Hunter
Leo
Xavier
Maxfield
Jack

My favourites are Lily (although its popular) and Hunter, with close seconds of Eliza and Maxfield. Suggestions are more than welcome!

My DD's names are Amelie Diane and Bella Sophia, if thats any indication of my 'style'.

Thanks so much

GIRLS
Lily- love but prefer as a nickname to Lillian or Liliana. I also think it is too close to Amelie for a first name seeing as they both end in a lee sound.
Eliza- love, this is definitely my pick
Charlotte- love
Jasmine-ok, as a middle name only
Winter-dislike

BOYS
Hunter- ok
Leo- really dislike
Xavier- ok
Maxfield- dislike
Jack- like, but I don't think it goes with Anzac as they both end in an ac sound.
Belinda
BOy pick would be Xavier. I wub.gif French names!

I really like charlotte and Eliza, but if you are going to use Winter as a middle name, I think Lily Winter sounds gorgeous! wub.gif

GIRLS
Lily - Love as long as she is never going to be lily white.
Eliza - Love it also if looking for a longer name you could go with Elizabeth
Charlotte - Another great choice and can be shortened to Charlie
Jasmine - Not my choice
Winter- probably MN not FN - Dont like at all. Still coming to terms with people calling their children Summer.

BOYS- Middle name will be Anzac
Hunter - Not fussed on but OK.
Leo - this is my son's teddies name.
Xavier - Nope not my style
Maxfield - I love Max but dont like Maxfield
Jack - Love it but common

Odd middle name for boy but I like the meaning.

Best of luck.
Obesa cantavit

Lily, Charlotte and Jasmine all seem to be very popular at the moment. They are all nice enough, but my fav out of your girls list is definitely Eliza wub.gif (DH vetoed that off my list mad.gif )! Winter just seems odd to me and not in a good way!

Xavier is the only one from your list that is ok. Although I am a big fan of Max (not Maxfield). The rest are NMS, also Jack and Hunter seem very popular at the moment, at least in my area.

GIRLS
Lily - absolutely love, but I didn't use it for DD because I think it's too popular. Would use as a NN for Lillian/Lilian like PP. Quite similar to Amelie though.
Eliza - love and think this goes really well with your DDs names.
Charlotte - lovely but very popular.
Jasmine - very pretty
Winter- not a fan

BOYS- Middle name will be Anzac
Hunter - like
Leo - like
Xavier - like
Maxfield - NMS
Jack - great name, though very popular. Goes well with your DD's names.

Good luck deciding!

I love Xavier wub.gif and Winter original.gif

I've ranked them:

Eliza - I adore this. I'd personally put it as a nickname to Elizabeth but I think it's reasonably substantial on its own. Good match with the sisters.
Charlotte - lovely and a good match with your other girls.
Lily - pretty, but I prefer as a nickname to Lilian.

(big gap)
|
Jasmine - I think this is very downmarket and nowhere near as pretty as your other girls' names.
Winter - hate this. I can't understand why anyone would use it. Apart from my dislike for words-as-names, the sounds of it are harsh, and winter is, well, freezing cold, dark and dead. Why would you want to name a child after it? Aaaand it just suggests you're a bit celeb-influenced.

Leo - love it. This is probably the only one I would consider with Anzac as a middle name (see below for why).
Xavier - very nice, but really a bit much with Anzac, especially with the repeated Z sound.
Jack - prefer as a nickname to John but it's okay on its own. But very rhymey with Anzac and sounds like "Jack and Zac".

|
Hunter - surname, not a first name. It doesn't sound nice and even the occupational connotation is no good (dead animals?). And "Hunt a Anzac"? No.
Maxfield - surname, not a first name. If you just want to call him Max it's not a good way to go about it. It also sounds very harsh with Anzac with the repeated C sound.

Thanks ladies, a lot of good feedback on Eliza! I have always loved this name, was tossing it up since DD1.

Maxfield is actually a family name, nn would be Max. I really like the idea of keeping family names, but sometimes its not always practical when naming your child.

Any MN suggestions for a girl? I wouls really like a family name, these are the family names I have:

Danielle
Delanie
Sarah
Rachel
Louise
Julia
Elise

Thanks original.gif

Eliza by far the nicest and also "goes" well with your other DD's. Eliza Winter sounds very harsh.

Leo, then close second Xavier for a boy. Leo Anzac flows nicely, better than Xavier Anzac.

Fair enough. I take back what I said. I do like family names, and Max is sweet. original.gif

I like Louise, Julia, Sarah, Rachel, and Elise (in that order).

To my ear, the nicer combos are:
Elizabeth Sarah
Eliza Louise
Charlotte Louise
Charlotte Julia
Lily/Lilian Julia
Lilian Rachel
Lilian Sarah

Eliza and Hunter would be my choices from your lists.

There is a well-known member on EB with a DS named Hunter Anzac. To be honest, It never even crossed my mind the 'Hunt-a-anzac' breakdown. And I only noticed because of my DS name.
