Hi There
I am looking for a Paediatrician on the southside.
I have heard that Tim McDonald is really good, but cant seem to find his number anywhere?????
I have also heard that his books might not be open to new patients?
Has anyone used Tim McDonald as their paediatrician??? How do I get hold of him? Or can anyone recommend a good paediatrician on the southside?
Also, who would I approach for a referral. Would I be better off asking my obstetrician or should I ask my GP????
Cheers, Lilymurray

Hi Lilymurray,
We saw Tim McDonald a couple of times in JJMH and once
after we left (April - Jun 2004). We were referred by Liz
Gallagher.
At that time his number was 6282 8188 and he was in the
Canberra Specialist Centre, just outside JJMH.
I thought he was a great doctor and hope we will have him
again for #2 next year.

Hi Lilymurray
The contact details provided by Tinka are still correct for Tim McDonald - he's the paediatrician for my baby boy. He's very highly regarded and I've found him to be a very nice man to deal with too.
I understand his books are very busy, but it's worth trying to get in anyway.
- congratulations on your new brood by the way!

Thanks girls
I rang him today & he is not taking new patients. Apparently he is the only paediatrician servicing JJMH & because of this he isnt taking new patients other than those thru the hospital, so they told me I will have to find someone else.....Bugger! ....... :confuse:
Does anyone know of another good paediatrician.........It's a bit hard to get your Dr to give you a referral to a paediatrician if their books are closed, so i'd appreciate it if someone knew of someone good & I will check if their books are open before I get the referal sorted
Cheers, Lilymurray

Hi
I've heard wonderful reports about Michael Rosier Ph: 6253 3011. He works out of the Calvary clinic - but believe he also does VMO at TCH.

I second the recommendation for Dr Rosier. That is who we go to. He is lovely and very thorough. He is very very hard to get into is the only thing. I waited 3 mths to see him initially. There is a shortage of peads in Canberra ATM so the good ones are all hard to get into.
I am sure if it were urgent they should be able to fit you in. I find the best way is to get your GP to ring and explain the situation.
Good luck
