I would like to start my own web site with products I make but wonder if it cost a heap, if I have no idea how to do it or even where to look have I go no hope ??
How do I create my own banners or logos and all that ??
Anyone here have there own web site that could point me in the right direction?
I have heard that there are some sites youcan go to that are step by step but I am still searching and haven't found them...

freewebs are good

www.freewebs.com.

Otherwise you could buy a domain name, find a host and do it yourself. Many hosts have a website builder in the control panel. I never used it because I liked doing it my own way rather than use their templates but they looked quite easy.

I have run a shop on www.wahmania.com.au in the past, and they are fantastic. I plan to go back there once I am able to start producing again (pregnancy issues had me unable to work).

They have revamped the site since I had my store there, and the new interface looks really great. I never had any issues getting sales while I was with them. original.gif

Well you could start by getting xsite pro which helps build your site if you do not wish for someone else to do it and you can get a domain name from about $20 per mth - I guess it pays to look around.

I was thinking of doing this so I hunted around and thats the best i could do.

I have 2 websites. One has a shopping cart, the other is basically information. If you want your own site your best off getting a domain name and a webserver. I use webcity.com.au for one and netlogistics.com.au for the other. The hard thing is if you want to have a shopping cart. You pay through the nose for them unless you have some knowledge of html and php. I built one of my sites from oscommerce and had to teach myself the coding. That was fun!!!! The other information based one I am just using coffee cup although most hosts have a build your own site attached to them. smile1.gif Hope that helps.
You can also check out the forum on whirlpool.net.au to find info on the dodgy hosts that you need to avoid.
