Two questions....

1) can anyone tell me where you can get 3D scans in Canberra - I have heard Calvary do them but do you have to be a Calvary patient to have them?

2) can anyone give me some pricing estimates of TCH, JJ and Calvary?

thanks,
ange

Hey Ange,

There is a bit of confusion as to whether there is actually a 3D scan machine in Canberra. My ob was going to send me to have a 3D scan at TCH but we declined as we'd already had sooooooo many u/sounds. However, there is some debate about if there is in fact a 3D machine there and if there is, I think you need a medical reason to need to use it and an ob's refferal. Otherwise I believe you can have a 3D scan in Sydney.

Thanks Mel - my girlfriend told me today about her 3D scan at Calvary but I forgot to ask more about it at the time - damn preggo brain. So I'm thinking you may need a referral.

But was definitely curious as to anywhere else that does it.

BTW - that is such a gorgeous pic of Ayden!

hi Ange,

hope your pregnancy is going well original.gif!
as for your questions, I've been told there is no 3D/4D u/s in Canberra, the closest is Sydney (the lady at the imaging place told me, but she could be biased?).

As for pricing, I'm not really sure how much they are. For 3D/4D scans there are places in Sydney like early image that have packages that start from $135 to $295 (don't think there is a medicare rebate for this!).

hope that helps, original.gif
