I just have to brag about my afternoon. How is it that the simplest things bring the nicest rewards?

We wandered to the park, the girls (both 6) rode their bikes, Matt, DP and his 15yr old son kicked a football. We laughed and played and got caught in the storm that had seemed to be looming with empty threat all day.

We ran home, drenched, and I made hot chocolates. Then we sat together (the three 6yr olds and I - the older males seemed to disappear - cannot figure why!) and watched The Sound of Music (I am so chuffed that the kids like my favourite! DP's 6 yr old daughter had never seen it - hopefully I have another convert!).

All of this with the smell of the roast lamb cooking.

Ah, life can be good sometimes biggrin.gif

That is just *wrong* - someone should report her parents to DOCS! laughing2.gif

Glad you have a lovely afternoon - we did too. We signed DH out on an escape pass from TCH (where he has been since Wednesday) and went to the free Classic FM concert which this week was a five-piece jazz ensemble. DD bopped and jiggled away to the "funky music" with us then we emerged into the cold rain and went back to the hospital for coffee and cake at the cafe.

This morning was spent lazing around watching Varekai (Cirque du Soleil) on the computer then raking lots of leaves from the claret ash in preparation for tonight's rain.

DD and I have just got home and are supposed to be organising dinner - especially since tomorrow is a school day blush.gif...
